Artist Bio

Influences:   Barry Manilow was my first musical love. While my contemporaries rocked out to the icons of the day in the early 80's, I was belting it out full force to "Copacabana." Somehow, by high school, I was obsessed with commercial country music. Then, Tori Amos walked me through college. Once I started playing music, I found my way to friends' music in the Atlanta/Athens, GA area. I love the vocal stylings of crooners. Joni Mitchell is a goddess. I love the lyrics by the Magnetic Fields and The Mountain Goats. A friend once categorized my music as gay-acoustic-indie-folk-pop, and so I've been calling it that ever since.

I'm back after a four-year hiatus. We will see what inspiration makes its way to me, if any. Hope springs eternal.

Some past albums, if you'd like to listen:

I'm into internal rhymes, refrains that aren't really refrains, and I really seem to be into shorter songs. I got no drums. I got no base. Just an iPhone to record, and a general hope that something will come to me somehow. I tend to really enjoy participating the song skirmishes.

Shout out to @wurzelfrau @auditasum @barbara @cleverhansel @max @steffan @whatsurdamage @bigpeaches @rockster123 and many others! So looking forward to hearing what we all accomplish this year!

Thank you so much for your extended comments on the Black Hole of Point Sturt. They've really made my FAWM with that project. I was afraid the two-week absence in the middle (on boat work!) would spoil the continuity, but I'm happy with the result. I have some music editing to do, and to find the original jpegs for the ballad, then I'll remaster and get it onto youtube as originally intended. I'll notify when done!

@ofishell Yes, I'd love to do some duets (or trios with @websheldon) at next year's FAWM (or 50/90 if you'll be there).

Thanks for your nice notes on my songs! Glad you liked them. I planned on doing some LGBTQ focused songs, but that's not what the Muse had in for me this year.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments! So lovely that people are coming to listen in March. It is our first FAWM and we have loved it!

Sounds good to me - no pressure tho I know we’re getting close to the end of Feb so just see if any ideas flourish 😀 also feel free to make changes, it was just a very rough draft for the skirmish!

  • @jorh  Feb 20

Thanks for your wonderful comments on mine and @websheldon’s collabs - it made my day 😀 Glad you enjoyed them. Will did an amazing job with the lyrics!!

  • @nateger Feb 19

I appreciate the kind words on a few of my tunes! Your comments made my heart very happy 😊

Glad you like my defence of women scientists criminally overlooked.

Hi, Thanks for the comment on GIVE IT NOW,. I think you mean my needs behind my boy cousins. .... but yeah when 2 have to pee, you'd think the one that has to go the most, would go. Not the boy just because he has a penis.

  • @brisk  Feb 18

Awesome! Thanks for taking time to listen to King for a Day - I had kind of blanked it out a bit, but its nice to know that it struck a chord. I have a vague idea of trying to improve these songs iteratively after FAWM, so I'll def. take your suggestions on board if I do. Hurray! And thanks.

    Thanks kindly!

Thanks for your very positive comment. You asked about the tag 'FUC' it stands for FAWM Ukulele Club. It was started years ago by @[timfatchen] If you search under FUC as a tag then you will find many ukulele songs.

  • @leepat  Feb 12

thanks for your kind comment! it’s a work in progress really, but since you mentioned Prince, you may enjoy this lil thing which has more of a finish to it: https://youtu.be/6IKzbH1YLFs

Hey Wayne! A collab would be so awesome, I'll see what I can do! Due to a loss in the family I'm not in the best place right now, but I for sure would love to sing with you again! All the hugs!

  • @barbara  Feb 5

Hi Wayne! I’m happy to think there will be new Wayne-songs born this month. 😊 I hope to get something up this weekend but I’m feeling rusty and dusty and freaked out by the thought of jumping in at the moment. Now where’s my inspiration-club?...

  • @judypie  Feb 5
