Ukulele player, quiltmaker, naturalist.
Feb 15: Got new recording equipment for my birthday--no more iphone on the music stand. May slow down song production, but improve quality...
Feb 1: Six years with FAWM! The usual anxiety about writing 14 songs is over the top this year. Usually on Feb 1, I have some idea of where to start, but this year, I'm drawing a blank.
I've been playing ukulele for over 6 years, and singing all my life.
I am looking forward to this wonderful obsession. I keep thinking I should go for quality over quantity--but then I'll never get 14 done. Fine tuning is for the other 11 months of the year, right?
Speaking of being finely tuned, my Oaks & Prairies album is available with content from previous FAWMs. I am backed by a wonderful group of musicians. Its available on iTunes, or if buying music isn't your thing: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1KOZztysZ2OKWUtEAO21Wc
This year I started recording a few of my songs for a series called Uke Stay Home. Find it on my You Tube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKwzP2CXEL231uml2577H9A

@oaksnprarie, so nice to hear from you again. Thanks for the comments on Howl'n. Basically true events. One of my favorite things to do with friends...
I quite enjoyed your songs this year too. I hope it was ok that I was ribbing you a little bit. Seems you could take it, and dish it out, just fine. I had fun with that...Be safe and healthy. Hope to see you here next year.
Thanks for dropping in on ‘Static and Interference’ and taking the time to leave us a lovely comment!
Thank you for listening to Right Posh Gent and your kind words. That was really a fun one to write.
"...from start to swig" favorite comment on The Twelve Bar Blues, @oaksnprairie ! You are a clever boots!
Hey, @oaksnprairie , I'm so glad you enjoyed Come On By! I did, too.
Thanks so much, @oaksnprairie , for your comment on Marco?. It was such a lovely process, collaborating with @richaaaay
How about cutting grass? Can cut a path to NH? Lots of grass here...
Honestly, thanks for listening and your very nice comments. Shovel song is one of my favorites...
I post on an iPad, and find my fingers want to touch things they shouldn’t. I posted the same comment twice.
Thanks for the note on my Black Ice super squirmish song. I did not even notice all the ands. I just slapped it together in an hour, posted and when I think about it, next month, maybe I will refine quite a bit of that story.
I absolutely love your youth choir idea for We Go High! Thank you for the suggestion - I intend to make that happen. <3
So glad you liked my "Queen Beaver" offering.
YAY!!!
I'd still like you to stop by with your shovel...Open offer.
Thanks for the comment. I'm so glad I took that challenge. It really made me appreciate how effective word painting can be...I'm a novice. You are much more poetic.
Thanks for listening to some of my tunes and the comments. I hope to stop back here later and listen to some more tunes so I can hear you SING!
Re: The Cat. I was living in the same flat as the couple involved. They had told me about this phenomenon and I was awake one morning and saw the cat waltzing off to their bedroom. I followed quietly. The cat pushed open the door and then proceeded to wake the male of the partnership using said method. 😱
Left comment in wrong place. 😀
Hello to you. I see you list quilting as an interest. For me, it has been a retirement commitment...until I started playing the mandolin 6 years ago. Thanks for the nice comments on my Party Pieces and Saturday Night songs. Let’s make a song about quilting.
Thanks, @oaksnprairie , for listening to My Neighbor, Conway!
Glad you liked my "Sailing Away" That's the Nth time I have been compared with Jethro Tull this FAWM - Luckily they are one of my favourite bands, so I'm taking that as high praise indeed. 😁😉
Thanks a lot for listening - and also for your encouraging words on my soundboard. Very much appreciated!
Will
I don't think I've said thank you for comments--apologies...life is getting in the way here. I hope to get back to lsitening on and off the next few days.
maybe in modern times, penelope goes to war and afterwards fools around for ten years before returniing home, while odysseus stays home and wonders if she will ever come back or if something dreadful has happened to her.
Oh and also thank you for your feedback on the alternate lyrics in my other song!!
I DID find my missing song snippet! It was in my voice memos from June 😂 I’m gonna add to it this coming week
BGVs are backgroun vocals. Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks for the listen and comment on my song, "Let The Rowdy Out," I agree that it would benefit from boosting the tempo -- I'll try that when I revisit it after FAWM.
Oh, I love that image of people moving around a boathouse on the far shore. It’s so strange to think of my music reaching into someone’s imagination. I never thought it could. Thank you so much for that! ❤️
Thanks so much for your kind message! I am very happy to see you here! Have a wonderful FAWM!
Hi there, hope you have a good FAWM with lots of ukulele music.
