Happy to be back for FAWM 2019! The songs posted here are ragged field recording kinda iPhone one-takes done at home in a cabin without electricity or running water. Maybe I’ll clean them up and take them downtown sometime .

I’ve been living in Whitehorse, Yukon since 1991. Made a full length solo record "Mayfly Days" awhile back and then i fell in love with clawhammer banjo and began to focus more on old-timey music. Collaborating with my longtime and multi-talented friend Kim Beggs resulted in the vocally-driven, old-timey duo The Blue Warblers whose two full-length recordings "Pretty Good" (2012) and Birds (2013) were nominated for Canadian Folk Music Awards.
A bit of a hiatus from recording/touring in recent years as I’ve taken to going for lengthy song- fodder walks in Spain (Camino Santiago de Compostela )

two to go!! You've done amazing work this month. I fell off the fawm wagon 😞 but been playing gigs and making plans and I got five songs maybe some keepers so not a total loss! Hanging around for #13 & #14

@natalieedelson thanks for the encouraging comments on my latest expectoration! I will not abandon that one 😊

So my lagging collabs are all in, whenever you feel like revisiting my queue (I recommend "Black Ice") 😀 <3

Really interesting commentary on RA, thanks! A year or so ago, I wrote a song called "White Pines Are Falling Down," a Grateful Dead-style jam song about all the white males who were getting their comeuppance--and it's only gotten more apt with time.

Hey, thank you! I wrote the words to "The Simple Kind" after listening to the track and free-associating; my mind entered the Pop Zone, where cliches lurk seductively. (It was also Valentine's Day.) I used @bogner0ne's title as an afterthought but it seemed to sum up the narrator's honest approach.

thank you for your words about my fawm poop! You are experiencing the seclusion-urges as well? When I go out in the evenings these days it seems outrageous to me, to be leaving the cozy house into the dark wilds of winter! What am I thinking?! But almost always glad once I do the thing... xoxo fawm doesn't have emojis.... 😞
