Artist Bio

Influences:   In music: bob marley, sting, skunk anansie, jaque brell, fleetwood mac, tracy chapman, red hot chilly peppers, nora jones, keb mo, white stripes, ... In poetry: hilde domin, e. e. cummings, rilke, irving, robert frost, emmely dickinson, walt whitman, john burnside, ...

P.P.S.: how will life be after fawm? Is there any life beyond? I'm jokeing, of course, but surely I will miss this community!

P.S.: I made 12 poems and collabs in about 12 days. My brain seems empty but I' m still so glad to be here. It's the first time for me - and to me it feels like an univers of music and potentials!
I love collabs! So, if my words inspire you for a sound - than go for it!

I am writing poems, stories and new fairy tales since many years now. Often inspired about a little textline I read, a song I hear and it´s atmosphere, a strong feeling inside me or a picture .... and - of course - about poems I read.
And above all: life itself!
Just enjoy my words and forgive me my bad translations.
Collaborators welcome!

I totally understand, being a native Finnish speaker. I wrote most of my material this FAWM in English, but some in Finnish and provided translations for them, and while I have actually studied translation and specifically Fi-En translation at the uni here (didn't graduate, long story), it's always a conundrum to translate poetry. I've tried to keep my translations as close to the original meaning I had, but that often leads to overly complicated sentences and at worst having to clarify colloquialisms in parentheses. Anyway, regarding your piece, I know like very very little German, but with the translation next to it, I could sort of follow the original and even in the translation I feel that the atmosphere came through.

Thank you for your comments on Dreaming My Day Away. Much appreciated.

  • @grenzgaengerin Mar 5

Thanks for the comment on "Tarzan Movie"! I don't think anyone has said they love my voice before. :') Yeah, I just prattled a list of things that might or might not appear in a movie, it was all a bit in the spirit of you know when you were a kid and there was this other kid in your class at school who would tell lies non-stop like their uncle worked for Nintendo and they'd get all the new games before they were released and no, you can't come play them, because. Yeah, so that was a sentence.

  • @emkaydeebee  Mar 3

I love how fawm enables magic like that!

Hi - thank you for listening and commenting on Creeping Buttercup. For the record, I like the normal buttercups, but these things are just incessant!! Nature seems to be a theme in your songs too, I'll be checking them out this MALM 😀

  • @safred Feb 28

Yes, thank you Andrea, also a pleasure to collaborate with you, and looking forward to it continuing 😀

  • @safred Feb 28

Thanks Andrea, yes your poem rekindled some ideas that have been laying dormant for a while. A few years back I had an idea of a story about a Forest Wizard who becomes angry and wreaks vengeance on a kingdom. It was sort of a dark fairy tale, it was laced with ideas of the forest being magical, etc, etc. Your poem took me back to it, as well as having its own evocative imagary. I'm also currently fascinated by the ideas of Faery's or mystical races as I think it links into lots of other interesting topics that I won't get into now, so I'm glad the Sidhe are cool! I also am a visual artist, so am considering drawing some of this stuff out (on top of material I did already in the past)

Lieben Dank für Deine Kommentare! <3

  • @artistunknown Feb 26

Thanks for the comment, it's good to know my music can still paint a picture without words!

  • @safred Feb 24

Yes Painted Bridge 😀 Thank you, my mate challenged me to do an Industrial hardcore techno banger! 😀

  • @cts  Feb 24

Hi. Do you record your vocals first or do you wait for the arrangement and then add your vocals?

  • @misterdemp  Feb 23

Absolutely! The colors songs are super interesting and have unique sound and perspective. I am curious to hear them each time.

  • @cts  Feb 22

Congratulations on getting to 14 and then some! I'll be back to listen to more of your works. I am a fan!

  • @richardmasters  Feb 19

Don't apologise, your English is fabulous!

  • @richardmasters  Feb 19

Ah, ok. I know social workers have a tough time over here - it can't be easy, what you do. I've been working in an out-reach team for a special school - for children who aren't able to attend or who are not allowed to because of their 'behaviour'.

  • @richardmasters  Feb 19

Hello, thanks for commenting on The New Wild West. May I ask what you do? Curious. You could email me if you'd rather not talk about it publicly.

  • @tageule  Feb 16

Huch, du warst ja noch gar nicht auf meiner Watchlist. Und du bist schon bei 12, Hut ab!

  • @safred Feb 15

    Bitte mein email nutzen:
Du kanst ein link hier schicken
(Mein Deutsch ist schlecht weil mein muttersprach ist English!) 😉

  • @safred Feb 15

Cool, das ist gut zu horen 😀 Du kanst bei schicken
    Smartphone Technik ist genug 😀

  • @safred Feb 15

Thanks for listening to my psychedelic trip out 😁. I was wondering if perhaps you might be interest in recording yourself speaking either Tadpoles or Something and Moon? Doesn't need to be perfect audio quality, using a smart phone would proably be enough. I could add you onto these tracks then? The alternative is myself doing a vocoder thing again, which could also work style wise, but just wanted to ask 😀

  • @mahtowin Feb 13

@safred thank you - it was a joy to me 🌻

  • @safred Feb 13

Totally brilliant! I'm stunned by how you have interpreted the sounds into words, fits perfectly. It is amazing! I will re-mix both tracks!

  • @tageule  Feb 12

Gerne! Ich hab auch Spaß hier...

  • @safred Feb 10

Cool! Yes go for it, would love to see what you come up with 😀 Glad your liking my take on Earth-grounded. I'm happy with the way this one worked out, your words shaped the track!

  • @mahtowin Feb 10

    @safred Thanks a lot!
And feel free to pick up my words and play with them!

  • @safred Feb 10

Thanks a lot for your comments on the Frog song 😁, that amused me no end! You definitely have a way with words 😀 It was getting late last night so the version I put up was a bit rough, just replaced it.
I'll try something with some of your words 😀

  • @safred Feb 8

Many thanks again, Really appreciate your comments and I'm happy to make sounds that are interesting! 😀

  • @twyllodrus Feb 8

Cheers for your nice comment on "Hong Kong Pfui".

  • @safred Feb 7

    Vielen dank noch mal 😀

  • @andygetch  Feb 7

Hello and you are off to a great start!

  • @safred Feb 6

Farben: Blau is quite an interesting dark piece. Nice treatment on that, its quite evocative!
Thanks for your comment on my other track also 😀

  • @mahtowin Feb 5

I am very exited and suprised of all those comments to our first creative thing "Farben: Blau" we did together.
And for me it's the first I ever did this and I am very glad that @dukemeyer gave his music and his very significant voice to my lyriks. It touched my heart to hear this ❤

  • @halfwayhome  Feb 5

Thanks for the track comment - happy to hear you enjoyed the track!
Your first track (Farben: Blau) has me intrigued. I'll be sure to check in on your music as it arrives.

  • @safred Feb 5

Thanks for the comment on my track, glad it chilled you out 😀 sehr gerne 😀
