Third year fawmer here.

Had a blast the first year and learned so much from all of you. Cranked out 14+ and then just let them sit.

Second year I cranked out 14+ and this time made the commitment to revisit those songs and finish them up. I am happy to say kept to that and 8 of those songs were finished, mixed, mastered and made their way up on to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and all of the streaming platforms.

One of those tracks "Do It Anyway" born out of a skirmish, was picked for a Spotify Editorial playlist 'Jazz Pop' and has been heard 70,000 + times.

This year I plan to get 14+ done and participate in all the FAWM fun!

I go by Keith Cuts on all of the streaming platforms and social media.

My music is intended to lift you up while you bounce in your seat 🎶🎧💃🕺🏻

Thanks for listening and commenting, Keith. It's much appreciated here. 😀

  • @ozcompr  Mar 3

Hey thanks for checking out my tracks. I had switched my Soundcloud tracks to private after FAWM because I didn’t realize people would still check them out afterwards and I’m working on them further for commercial release but switched them back to public. Should work now! Apologies!!!

  • @matthew62  Mar 2

Thank you for your kind comments on "thirsty fish". I cannot lay claim to the thirsty fish metaphor I first Came across it in Rumi's poetry as translated by Coleman Barks and later ran across it in Hafiz's poetry.
I felt it expressed my spiritual hunger at the time (actually most times) that I adopted it.

  • @emkaydeebee  Mar 1

So give me a clue, which songs of yours shall I listen to?... (not sure I can reciprocate a full fawm output listen!!!! 😱)

  • @emkaydeebee  Mar 1

Wow Keith, you absolute star you! Can’t believe you’ve just listened to the whole thing, I’m honoured, and thank you so much! I haven’t even done that yet! Does it hold together okay? Any major clunks that don’t flow? Any part you wish went further or you knew more about? You are in a unique position to tell me right now! 😃 I’m delighted to have inspired you. I, in turn was inspired by @ryako who wrote a musical each of the last two years (and possibly prior, I don’t know)... I didn’t work to any book, just googled whenever I wasn’t sure about something... though it became cleat that there are no fixed rules really, just shows that work and shows that don’t... (but then, even that’s surprising - have you heard any of the relativity new “Be more Chill” musical? The two short parts I heard on the radio the other day made me hold my head in disbelief that this was a musical that has made it...)

  • @codeenergy Mar 1

Thanks for checking my stuff out and giving some feedback. Sorry I am lazy and don't type my lyrics out. haha

  • @roblincoln  Feb 29

Thanks for commenting on my song, Big Black Car.

  • @nuerdetjuligen  Feb 29

Thanks for your kind words! And for hosting such an enjoyable skirmish. The creepy high harmony voice is a sound from GarageBand. It's called "Helium Vocal." It is surprisingly sinister, haha!

  • @tootoobee  Feb 28

Hi @keithcuts, it's not my FAWM this year 😞 and I won't manage to morph either... if you still have time, please close morph chain 5.

  • @scubed  Feb 27

Thanks so much for the lovely comments & mega-congratulations on having a fabulous FAWM! It’s been so good to see & hear you, even if only online. Give us a shout if you're gong to be out our way.

I’ll be back after FAWM ends to listen some more. You have written some really great songs!

  • @ductapeguy Feb 25

Thanks so much for adding Hold the Line to the recommended songs thread.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 24

Wow!!! That is incredible! I LOVE the music - listening again! Please add me as collaborator when you fget a chance!!! Such a cool song the way you brought it to life!!

  • @guatecoop  Feb 24

Two pinty!!😂. Thanks, man. That was a 2:30am evening.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 24

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 24

See those in post below or for a totally different feel

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 24

    I would love that!!!!

  • @jenjen  Feb 23

Thanks for the kind comments on Bush party blues!

  • @aesthetic72  Feb 22

Thanks for the comment on my collab with Nancy. 😀

  • @jcameron Feb 21

Thanks for the "cold" prompt and for your comments on my skirmish song. Now I find myself wondering if perhaps the tempter that is trying to lure the narrator's friend out into the cold in my song is actually Wim Hof, and my narrator really isn't a fan of his method! 😀

  • @mdavisto  Feb 21

I basically mean to record two good takes of the vocal that are as close as possible to each other in terms of inflection and tone. But of course they won't be exactly the same because you are a human being, not a robot, and so the end result of playing them both at the same time is a thickening - a bit like a chorus effect, but more natural sounding.

I think this will give you the punch you are looking for when you use so much reverb.

  • @mdavisto  Feb 21

Oh my god how are you writing so much shit? 24? WHAAAAAT?

  • @zecoop  Feb 21

Just thought you might want to know that Shindig’s got a brand new bag... 😎

  • @s7even  Feb 20

Thank you! that took a lot out of me. Lol fun challenge for my first ever skirmish. It wasn’t what I was expecting at all.

  • @zecoop  Feb 20

Should certainly get some fun songs out of that... Hopefully some that really pump. 😀

  • @zecoop  Feb 20

I appreciate the listen and the very positive comment. That song was a blast to write/record... I do already have a collaborator on that one and had him in mind right after I finished it. CTS sent his vocals last night and I'm stuck at work and can't mix until tonight. I'll let you know when it's uploaded. 😀

  • @musicsongwriter  Feb 19

Thank you Keith for hosting and for your kind comment on "You are back in my dreams".

  • @treble Feb 19

Keith, thank you so much for hosting so many skirmishes and for your great prompts! Thanks too for you comments on my skirmish song I'm Back. You understood the emotions I was trying to convey.

  • @johnstaples  Feb 19

Thanks for keeping the skirmish alive this year! I have not been able to join in on many but hope to before we're done.

  • @ggallagher  Feb 19

I screwed something up in the bounce on sleep and fight. I just went back and fixed it so you get another minute of cat content 😉

  • @musicsongwriter  Feb 18

Thank you so much Keith for your fun prompt and your kind comment.

  • @pvk2020  Feb 18

It's just too many so much music is good. Creative expression is human purpose. The music is in the invisible stuff around us and we are its. Keep it up.

  • @mariekevinkmusic  Feb 18

Thanks for the skirmish prompt and the nice encouragement. I'll definitely join another skirmish next time one comes up when I .in the right place at the right time 😀

  • @sunnymae  Feb 18

Thanks so much for egging me on to the finish line of the Skirmish. Still have four more tunes for my trophy but I'll get there. Thanks to folks like you. Congratulations on your output and on meeting your goal of mixing, mastering and getting your fabulous sounds out there into the world!!

  • @musicsongwriter  Feb 17

Thank you so much Keith for your encouragement. Your comments are very special to me. Thank you again for your inpiring skirmishes!

  • @fulanin Feb 14

I just saw your email, thank you so much! I'll let you know when I finish the track.
About the metal collab, let's totally do it! I don't have anything done right now, but I will write something having vocals in mind and leaving space for it, not filling every possible space with guitars.

  • @fulanin Feb 14

Hello Keith, how are you doing?
I'm in charge of morphing your song "Have a Great Day" (a great song by the way), but I have absolutely zero singing skills.
I was wondering if you could send me your vocal track to take some creative liberty on in during the morph.
If you are okay with it my e-mail is in my profile.
    Thanks 😀

  • @victoriavox  Feb 14

what?! Nicholas Cage is on here?! @nicolascage 😉

  • @sapient  Feb 13

Thanks for reaching out! I'm afraid though that my dance card is pretty full already for the rest of this FAWM...

  • @colgoo Feb 12

Thank you, Keith, for the encouraging feedback on “Woman at the Well”. High praise like that makes me blush a bit. It’s nice to hear that my lyrics make an impact.

  • @pvk2020  Feb 12

Thanks Keith. Can't be And I am solo here in North Idaho.

  • @treble Feb 12

Thanks so much for your kind comments on my skirmish song Cruise Control. Thanks so very much for hosting this and so many other skirmishes. I really like your prompts!

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 12

Hey Keith! Thanks so much for your uplifting comment on Ribbon of Road. Much appreciated.

  • @ustaknow Feb 12

I like the Blues of Bourbon Street, -- and, in this one, I hear from it, that you and Nic Cage will do well together if he covers his end; you and Nic have very compatible styles, -- great for that collab! 😀

  • @berni1954  Feb 11

Glad you liked my take on your Skirmish prompt.
I nearly didn't make the deadline. I only started recording at 21:50 Barcelona time. Luckily got it in a single take after two rehearsals. Thanks for being the midwife on this one.

  • @sjbatavia  Feb 11

Thanks for commenting on In The Fog. I didn't intend to go from literal to figurative, It just sort of went there, but i was happy with it.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 11

Ha! I would just like Mr. Cage to get some music on the lyrics I posted for him!

  • @johnstaples  Feb 11

    Thanks man!

  • @oddbod  Feb 10

ah, but are they middle aged? .....or in my case 60 in March? 😁

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 9

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 8

That would be fine I suspect as I love your music and trust your musical sensibility! Thank you!!!

  • @treble Feb 8

Thanks so much for your comments on my skirmish song Have a Great Day. I truly appreciate your comments and the fact that you host so many skirmishes!

  • @klaus  Feb 8

Hi Keith. Thanks for the comments and support when I'm doing my first ever Superskirmish. It is appreciated. 😀

  • @tunecat  Feb 8

Thanks for feedback re bandcamp gonna try to do something - j

  • @treble Feb 7

Thanks so much for your nice comments on my skirmish song Rhymes with Orange. It was a fun prompt!

  • @ustaknow Feb 7

Thanks for that. Sure, - just pick an alternate Note in the Chord and sing it. If I can go an octave up/down, even better. They're all dry, no effects, -- even the "krappiest" 😀 hahhh! adds a harmonics dimension. (Just spread'em out in the mix.) It's hard to get someone to sing with you, so next best thing.

  • @the3queens  Feb 7

Thanks for the comments. Yeah another fawmer blooped through on FB while recording! 😂

  • @gslade Feb 7

Impressed by your Spotify success. Awesome

  • @nateger  Feb 6

I appreciate the kind words on my Syn song. You gave me a lot to work with your track so it was a treat to write my song!

  • @notenkraker Feb 6

Thank you for the feedback! I think the `depth` is really achieved by keeping the lower spectrum really sparse and dry but having wide mids. Not sure, I´m taking a more minimalistic approach this FAWM so it really boils down to the sound design and arrangement.

  • @skylermf Feb 5

Hey thanks so much for the nice comment on my soundboard! I really appreciate you checking out my music!!

  • @mishykatz  Feb 2

Thanks for the listen and comment on Too Many Mice, much appreciated!!! Happy Uking!

  • @jcooper  Feb 2

I cant think of anyone. Maybe try the PG music forum?

  • @jcooper  Feb 2

Glad to be of service. Do you have Melodyne Studio? If so you can very easily line up the sung harmonies with the generated ones... works a treat

  • @jcooper  Feb 2

Hi Keith. Yes, Donna did the lyrics and I did the music. I do a couple of takes to get the harmonies in. How I do them is generate the tc helicon ones, listen a few times and then sing them exactly like BIAB generates them. For the echo I just copied the lead vocal and pasted a few bars back then put some reverb on.

  • @tiller2  Feb 2

Thanks, Keith, for your kind comments on Play With Me

  • @treble Feb 2

Thank you so much for your kind words about my skirmish song, "Go." Have a great FAWM and thanks again for getting skirmishes started!

  • @tiller2  Feb 2

Your wait is over, keith. 😀 Demo for "Play With Me" is yonder:

  • @dragondreams  Feb 2

Thank you loads for the visit, listens and comments! It's very much appreciated.
You asked about a panning effect at the opening of my "What colours do you hear?" track. I didn't have to do anything. The instrument is a VSTi synth called Air Xpand! 2. That kalimba voice stereo pans straight out of the box. 😀

  • @scubed  Feb 1

Hi, Keith! Thanks so much for your lovely comment on “Jupiter is Rising in the Morning”! 😊 And it looks like your opening day skirmish was a great success. Hope you have a wonderful FAWM!

  • @gflatminor  Feb 1

Hey Keith, thanks for the skirmish. Helped me get going. Thanks for the comments too.

  • @jmadison  Jan 30

Hi Keith. I just listed to "Stay Hungry". Great message! And I agree, I like the groove.

  • @wobbiewobbit  Jan 30

thank you 😀 have a great fawm i will let you know about the seed song for auntie sin, might well do a chain 4. prob see you at your skirmish too.

  • @scubed  Jan 27

Hi, Keith! Great to see you & I’m looking forward to hearing your FAWM 2020 songs. Do you ever see our old ukulele pals in ATL these days?

Thank you for commenting on the SuperSkirmish thread. I had no idea what I was going to stir up with my little suggestion! As you’ve seen, I’ve given up the idea - the tone of some of the comments really spoiled the fun for me - but there will be SS the second and fourth weekends, so stay tuned.

    Happy FAWMing!

  • @johnstaples  Jan 27

Thanks for your comments on the anti-SuperSkirmish thread!!!
