Influences: Harry Chapin, John Denver, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, many contemporary folk/acoustic singer/songwriters. There are plenty, I guess. I get inspired by a lot of my friends, too - some of whom you'll find FAWMing. The more we get together and talk about songwriting, the more inspired I get.
FAWMUS RESUMUS ... just in time during the final week so I can cross the finish line (I hope!).
FAWMUS INTERRUPTUS ... Feb 12th ... I'm still in the fawm but have to take a little time to care for a family member.
I should update this information for fawm 2018, but some of the basics are still the same, so I'll leave those here for now.
Between a full time/overtime day job and being in the sandwich generation always bouncing between houses, I don't have as much time to write as I used to, but fawm always helps me get a few new things written.
I've written ballads, story songs, blues, rap, reggae, a capella, sweet, sassy and silly. I've co-written with maybe ten or so people, usually with decent results.
I've performed at coffee houses, house concerts, open mic events and a few shows sharing the stage with friends and as part of the trio Three of Hearts, mostly in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area. I've provided vocal support to a few friends on their CD's and after years of encouragement, am in the process of working on my own CD.
My strongest skill is probably lyric writing, followed by singing (or maybe swap those two) and in third place, playing acoustic guitar. I have a djembe that I noodle around with as well as an Eede Beede mini dulcimer that I take out on rare occasions.
Thanks in advance for your feedback and support.
P.S. Don't forget to make a donation to the cause here. There isn't anywhere that you can have this much fun, interact with songwriters from all over the world, get tips on everything from which mic to use to what to cook for dinner. Have fun!!!
No songs by this fawmer (yet).
