care to help a little? https://fawm.org/forums/topic/11940/

  • @musicsongwriter  7 weeks

Thank you Kate, I replied via soundcloud. I'm about to teach but will reply as soon as I can tonight.
    Have a wonderful evening.

  • @musicsongwriter  7 weeks

Yes of course, I'll be delighted to collaborate with you any time Kate. I'm joining 50/90 but happy to collaborate in between the challenges too.

  • @musicsongwriter  7 weeks

Thank you Kate for your kind message. I absolutely love your song. I've posted my comment on Youtube as well as sadly this site will be closing in April. Thank you for your amazing songs. You've made my evening beautiful.

  • @richaaaay  Mar 14

Hi Kate, pure pleasure to listen to your music. Thank you for the tit4tat and the nice comments you left for me. You've posted some great music on FAWM and your YouTube channel. You've got an abundance of creative juices flowing in all sorts of different directions. Well done...

  • @gm7  Mar 14

Ok 4 is good. That should enable me to get to all 38 tit4taters

  • @wolfkier Mar 13

Indeed if you manage to trade 4 for 4 with everyone on the list that 150ish listens.... πŸ˜€ And a bunch of new friends!

  • @wolfkier Mar 13

Names? Of #tit4tat people? If that's what you mean the list is on first post of the forum page. https://fawm.org/forums/topic/11699/
I don't know who or how many of them you've engaged with so far, but there's 38 (less those you've traded 4 with already) to choose from. Choose a couple and offer 4 for 4. Is that what you mean?

  • @sapient  Mar 12

Oh now that sounds like an excellent idea! 😁
    See you there!

  • @sapient  Mar 11

Wow. You listened to some of the really heavy ones! Thanks! 😁
Unless otherwise noted, everything is always just me, with the exception of the drums. For that I use Toontrack EZ Drummer, usually the Metal Machine kit. I'd love to be able to play drums like that for real... πŸ˜‰

  • @davidtaro  Mar 11

Thanks for the comments, Kate. Particularly your beautiful words on Broken - really means a lot! I *think* I'm going to be doing 50/90. In which case, I'll catch you then... πŸ˜€

  • @nuno  Mar 10

Thanks for the follow and comments. It would be great to connect at 50/90 - I'll be under @nuno-5090. I'd only just got my studio together in time for FAWM, so hopefully I'll be a bit more battle ready for 50/90, with a bunch of ideas to try out. Stay safe and keep singing 😁

  • @nuno  Mar 10

Hi Kate, thanks for all the lovely comments on my tracks. I really appreciate it. I've always struggled with performing in public (fear of failure I guess) and being to self critical. Thanks to you, and all the positive comments from all the wonderful people here, I'm going to try to own my singing a little more in future and stop apologising. Thanks again.

  • @wolfkier Mar 9

I honestly don't know, Kate. I didn't receive notification that you'd posted it. I'm guessing you didn't receive notification that I posted "Fate". I imagine there it's a matter of hoping your friends on there will check your page from their list of follows and discover it.
You could use social media to tell friends. I'm pretty sure youtube lets subs know or more easily find out about something new from a channel, I'm guessing you might know more about that than me. if they do, post the track on youtube for your followers.
I'm sure all my soundcloud listens come from links from my fawm 5090 songposts.
If you know someone on Soundcloud with a mountain of subs and listens you might ask them too, but I think if it did notifications it'd be obvious to any user.
Also you could add the link in your FAWM bio as a post FAWM listen if anyone finds it and is interested. Or on your new 50/90 profile as Pre 50/90 work.
    It's a superb track, btw.. πŸ˜€

Here's the songlink if anyone reading this note is interested: https://soundcloud.com/katestanton21/a-song-of-healing-feat-sean-pa...

  • @nadine Mar 8

I like the fact that you are so open minded! We may have this in common. I come back to that remix request someday. Ok I don't do 70s disco but I did some house. I'm pausing electronic music after finishing my album. At least for some months. For personal reasons and growth. We stay in touch!

  • @wolfkier Mar 8

Look at you with all those comments and new talented buddies!
I'm really happy for you! πŸ˜€

  • @wolfkier Mar 8

    having fun yet? πŸ˜€

  • @ferry0123 Mar 7

Looking forward to hearing what's going to be the result of our efforts the coming summer. Followed you back, we'll talk later!!

  • @nadine Mar 7

Thank you so much! I joined you at SoundCloud aswell. You did some EDM stuff?!?!

  • @ferry0123 Mar 7

Oh wow, I take your invitation as a compliment, really. And a surprise, a nice one!

So, it wouldn't surprise you, my answer is: yes! So, count me in. Next fawm, coming 50/90 (if you're familiar with it, it's the coming song writing challenge next July) or sooner. I'm down for it. We can start with hiss and needle cracks πŸ˜€ and, if neccessary, take it out later.

  • @ferry0123 Mar 7

Hi Kate, it's a joy to have listened to your songs. Thanks for taking the time, listen and comment as for my songs (actually, you chose the ones I like best). I was pleased to read your comments. Keep on writing!

  • @radiobenedetto  Mar 6

Kate, I'm really glad I found you on here. You have great talent and an amazing voice. I look forward to hearing more from you down the line and I'd be stoked to collaborate with you sometime. (E.g. Midnight Oil is a song that would be way stronger with a female voice on the verses.) I left some notes in my song comments but I'd encourage you to use more pre-chorus to chorus in your song structure. I know you've already listened to my stuff but if you check out my song Fascinator, that's an example of a song where I thought the chorus was the "Changeur de Monde" part but once I got that part down and realized it wasn't really doing it for me I treated it as a pre-chorus and I suddenly felt much more free to really go for a full chorus that would have been too abrubt had I started with it. I think the key is to let the song take you further than that first chorus impulse. Carousel is another one where I let myself go full chorus and it made a huge difference. Something to think about! In any case, you rock and I look forward to following you in the future!

  • @nadine Mar 6

Thank you! I hope you will not be utterly shocked when I finish and upload my harsh electronic stuff first I look forward to what you'll do out of your demos πŸ˜€

  • @ferry0123 Mar 6

Hey Kate, Wolf sent me over here, to you. Would you be in for a little bit of #tit4tat? I'll go first!

  • @nadine Mar 6

Thank you so much for listening to "Angel in Jeans". @caitlin and I will finish the song for sure, but I think this will be april or maybe later. If you want to listen to the result, you should add me on Soundcloud. It's such a pity that FAWM closes soon >.<

I can do some #tit4tat for you! 4 songs to go?

  • @mandolinda  Mar 6

I do have a YouTube channel, I put up some quilting videos for my quilting guild. https://youtube.com/channel/UC9d-UwqlvgjkZYhisxRWl8Q

Being compared to Sufjan Stevens and Karen Carpenter is a huge compliment. Thank you!

  • @tukayandryan  Feb 20

Thank you for such a lovely comment. I really am still in awe of Eva Cassidy ❀

  • @quork  Feb 18

Kate, thank you for your great comment. Astral Weeks is one of my favourite albums. I’ll take that comparison any day.

  • @syonip Feb 18

Thanks Kate for the comment. Didn't see you on yesterday's call, but got to meet your drummer instead 😁

  • @wolfkier Feb 18

Thanks for another very nice comment. You're very kind.
#6 took about 24 hours over 4 days (from conception to what you heard) including walking the dog 8-10 times, which is where most of conceptual "heavy lifting" happens. LOL. Sadly I wont have that kind of brainspace over the next 7 days...
Still waiting for something more from you this month. No pressure .... πŸ˜€
I'ma listen again to feathers in the meantime...

  • @wolfkier Feb 15

Thanks for your kind words about my #5! Appreciated.
And happy belated Valentine's Day to you too!
Done. I subbed. I'm "Charlotte's Reward", you should get a notification. And I see you've updated your link to Soundcloud here too! Great.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy to help.
More yummy music from you on here soon I hope!
    Have a great evening.

  • @syonip Feb 15

Thanks for the candy new friend! 😁

  • @nateger Feb 14

Aww your words touch my heart! My intention is to bring more ease to my art and let that innate creative genius flow. It means a lot to receive your feedback after allowing the creativity

  • @nateger Feb 14

I appreciate your kind words! This was a lovely way to start my day to your comment 😊

  • @wolfkier Feb 14

    promise, you're welcome, you too!

  • @wolfkier Feb 14

Kate, I came back to see if you'd fixed your soundcloud link, and found your reply on *your* profile page. It's counter intuitive but with fawm the only way to be sure someone sees your reply is to post it on that persons profile page.. click their @ name. Ok, if you look at your own profile page @katestantonsings you'll see at the top your youtube link, followed by a lastfm link (which also in your case doesn't work) and then the red cloud (which is a soundcloud link that goes nowhere. To change those (get rid of them since they don't really exist) is to go to your own profile page (while logged in) and hit the edit button top right, empty every link but your youtube (since it appears that's all you have.
50/90 is the marathon version of FAWM which goes from 4july to 1Oct every year. (50 songs in 90 days) http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/ , here's me on there.... http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/user/wolf-kier
Many of the same people as FAWM but longer and more relaxed over summer.
There's also Rocktober, All through october, where people (mostly from FAWM/50/90 do covers.... last october I covered Bowie's Fashion LOL: in case your interested.. http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/content/fashion
Please feel free to let me know if you have other questions... like i said some of it's counter intuitive but you'll get it...

  • @katestantonsings Feb 14

@wolfkier I don’t have SoundCloud or know what 50/90 is, but I’ll definitely add you if I sign up. Thank you!

  • @wolfkier Feb 14

LOL. You actually reminded me I even had a youtube page! Thank you, though. Haven't used it in years. I put all my stuff on soundcloud for the challenges (you do know and will be participating in 50/90 as well I hope). So I went to follow you on soundcloud but the soundcloud link in your FAWM profile is broken, you might want to look into that, and let me know when it's fixed. I'll follow you there... howzat?

  • @syonip Feb 8

Thanks for the feedback and encouragement Kate, much appreciated!

  • @quork  Feb 6

Thank you for listening and your kind comments. Much appreciated.

  • @syonip Feb 6

    Hey Kate,
Thanks for feedback on Lines in the Sand (I just figured out that I should reply here instead of on that thread).
Didn't know about Junip or Gonzales but gave them a listen on YouTube, like their sound!

  • @caitlin Feb 4

Oh Kate! Thank you for your kind words about "Dyl Pickle"! I felt moved to share his story, and I feel extremely blessed that it moved you. <3

  • @quork  Feb 3

Hello and happy FAWMing. I'm listening to Dare to Dream. Very nice. Beautiful vocals (in all of their layers), great song dynamics propelled throughout by the great drums/percussion, and I like the unusual intro keyboard (?) riff. Getting a strong early Sarah McLachlan feel.
