Artist Bio

Influences:   Rock, Psychedelic, Indie, alternative, Hypnotic, African, trance, progressive, ethnic, RnB, acid Jazz, funk, blues, underground, new wave, punk, rap, dance.

I started playing music in a band when I was 14 in Brisbane australia. Played the Brisbane 80's music circuit till I left the country when I was 19. since then have played, Dj'd, produced demos through to the age of 27.
Then I stopped and dedicated my life to working in design with my partner for 25 years.
I returned to music in 2017 where I picked up playing, writing and producing with a friend @mattoxic from 30 years back, both of us scratching a musical itch. We do this transglobally myself is Spain, he in Australia. We have released and EP on spotify and continue to write and record under the name of Politricks.
I play the Bass, and try to cover what instruments I can as best I can. I am no virtuoso, but love to make sounds and layer and mix and arrange. I wish I could sing better so I tend to disguise my voice with layered harmonies. This is my first Fawm, never to late !

    You're welcome!

Hey sorry about the broken links, i released a few tracks on my Bandcamp page, so I made those private links on SC. Drop me a message on SC and ill send the private links.

  • @tunecat  Mar 1

Hi. Had to write back just found your remark at the bottom of dancing with sorrow and was very moved. Thanks for the compliment but more than that the empathy and warmth. Greetings

  • @seppo Feb 28

And I just started to practice composing 2 months ago and made 3 songs before joining fawm.
This was much more fun I've expected.

  • @seppo Feb 28

Haha, no I'm not playing professionally πŸ˜€
Too lazy, never been practicing, just playing every now and then.
Don't know anything about theory, just playing what I feel and make new rules 'cause don't know right ones πŸ˜€

  • @imaginary1 Feb 28

Cheers mate! It’s been my first too, I try to write songs all the time but this has made it a lot more enjoyable. Im glad to see you and Mattoxic are doing cool new wave, post punk stuff together. And you live in Spain? Β‘Que bien! My other band I play in bananagun were supposed to tour there this year...! Probably won’t happen now though ha. Check out the bananagun stuff though, it’s a bit different to my tunes, more James brown upbeat garage psych, but it’s fun to play..! I’ll look forward to hearing from you about your collaborative hub. Take care brother!

  • @erucaesounds  Feb 28

Thanks for your comments on 'Epitaph', much appreciated. And congrats also to you for making it thru, you came up with great stuff and I enjoyed listening..... For me, FAWM is always a great experience, and every year I learn new things about music, production, and myself. Keep me posted on 'Logistic Services', my regular email is Paul.cogley@gmail.com it would be great to keep in touch / collaborate / whatever!

  • @erucaesounds  Feb 28

Thanks for your comments on 'Velvet Sword', much appreciated.

  • @seppo Feb 28

Not so fast, one more so I'll get 14 totally own πŸ˜‚

And yes, thanks for everything and I'm totally interested on collobrating when ever.
My computer skills are quite limited and I'm not sure how to πŸ˜„
I just use GarageBand and Dropbox shared files to collobrate, don't know how it works with other programs but if it ain't a problem, count me in.
In my profile you can find my information.

  • @safred Feb 28

Hey there, thanks a lot for all your feedback πŸ˜€ This has also been my first FAWM, and its been a brilliant experience! Have made one collaboration already which was great (and will continue), so yes, count me in πŸ˜€ Sounds like an interesting project!
I have discovered some great stuff here also, there are indeed some extremely talented people here πŸ˜€

  • @nikopee Feb 28

Hi, @kajati! I am interested. For me too this was the first FAWM, and I have decided to keep something going on to be in a good song writing condition next year!

  • @nadine Feb 28

Thanks for your kind words! I have a listen to your tracks in the next days, somehow I need one or two days of silence.
Your idea is splendid. Yes, I am open for collabo outside FAWM. As stated on my profile, I am always lacking of instrumentalists and singers since I am more songwriter, arranger, producer, remixer and maybe keyboarder. Depending on how and when all the recordings to my songs will happen, my upcomming workload will be very tough.
For when are you planning this project and will there be a deadline? Do these people record some chords or half finished songs? I recently found out, that I can only work with recordings sticking to a meassure and that I am not fond of experimental / soundscapes / avantgarde music. Maybe it's best to write an e-mail.

  • @iwilleatyou Feb 26

Yes! Tell it like it is! We nail it every time. Thank you for the listens and comments!

  • @eargoggle  Feb 25

Hey thanks for your comment. Will we make it back to Brooklyn? don't know at the moment...we rented our apartment out, didn't sell it, so maybe, we're kind of waiting to see what the world is like when the dust all clears. We do like where we are, Hudson river valley, but it's hard to say what it will be like too.

  • @nikopee Feb 24

Thanks for the comment! It's always uplifting to receive that kind of feedback.

  • @tunecat  Feb 23

That's kind words but I haven't really done 50 songs.. some of these are just sketches, or just lyrics, (or just recorded as spoken word) or impros... and one take wonders. I just HAD to get the cobwebs away somehow.. So there's only a couple of mixed tracks there...

  • @seppo Feb 23

Thanks bro for nice comment on Leftovers.
It was kind of cheating to use leftovers, but I made those for options for nikopee's song and he didn't need em so I decided to use them somehow πŸ˜€

  • @ustaknow Feb 23

Good thread, - thank you! πŸ˜€ Anytime you get another song, it's a good thing!

  • @imaginary1 Feb 22

Cheers for the kind words brother! Diggin your colab stuff too!

  • @panch  Feb 22

Thanks very much for your supportive comments on Unbroken Dream.

  • @nadine Feb 22

Living in a bigger city is not always the solution to find like-minded people. I am still not connected to locals. Nearly everything I learned and nearly everbody I collab'ed with was due to the internet. Asking around in person, nobody does and/or likes the kind of music I like.

An internet-music-mate and former collab-partner introduced me into FAWM. I am still overwhelmed by these impressions! And YES, I am freaking out! There are days, where I only answer comments and mails but this gives me an instant push. Today I feel totally exhausted not even able to write a rhyme!

Just send me your final recordings as a link to a zipped archive to my mailbox. I'll download it and come back to it as soon as I have time and patience.

  • @nadine Feb 22

If it's not about time, I can give a try on mixing "Wanting". I'll finish my electro album in march and then all these FAWM collabs will come. Gotta be a hell of work! So I can't estimate how long this would take. Maybe everything delays and I'm doing nothing in march, maybe I'm maxed out until summer.

For mixing, I'll need your recordings / stems at least in 24bit / 44.1 kHz quality, dry as they come into your DAW (especially no delay and reverb on vocals - guitar tracks as they come out of your amp / amp simulation), each track seperated, the chord sheets (to correct the vocals), BPM info...Please check the recordings of my band as this is roughly the quality of mixing and mastering I can provide.

  • @kajati Feb 22

@erucaesounds I actually work with loops quite often, I guess partly because I am not the most competent of musicians and it helps me get to places I simply cannot reach, but yeah I agree its away of getting you out of a rut, Thanks for the comment !!

  • @safred Feb 22

Thanks for the feedback on the spoken word pieces, I've been quite fortunate to have found a creative connection with Andrea and her words! πŸ˜€

  • @safred Feb 21

Thanks again mate, yes something off in a slightly diferent direction. I have to stop myslef getting into breakdancing when hip hop beats come in. I'm having a running battle with my Volca Modular!

  • @nadine Feb 21

Thanks for your kind words on my songs!
Well, the truth is, that I can only play a bit of piano. The recordings at FAWM were all created with virtual instruments in hope that somebody re-records them with real instruments. That's the reason why they were tagged as open for collaboration until somebody came and well... a lot of people came, so that's gonna be tough work - But I am looking forward to this! I'd like to improve my mixing and mastering skills with real recordings πŸ˜€

  • @zecoop  Feb 21

That sounds pretty amazing with the reel recordings. What kind of things did you end up with? I love the mystery of the 4-tracks here. Three of them will have video stories this year. Burr Settles had us all video the process for each track and he is going to compile everything. Should be cool

I will be checking out some music today! 😎

  • @mattoxic  Feb 20

Thanks for the Sudafed comment bro, appreciated.

  • @erucaesounds  Feb 18

Well, cheers..... so, the bass is a Fender Jazz (US of course) and I plug it direct into my Apollo 8 UAD interface, which of course allows me to use all their delicious UAD plug ins.... for the bass I use their Ampeg SVTVR Classic bass amp, topped with Logic Pros Channel EQ, followed by another UAD plug in, the Teletronix LA-2A compressor set at a gentle compression setting. And I turned the mono bass track into stereo dialed 35 clicks left and 35 right.

  • @erucaesounds  Feb 17

Thanks for your kind words on 'Who Are You Today', I feel flattered! And you too man, you have some great tunes with a high bar for quality!
Next time I am in Spain, or the next time you are in Seattle, we should jam!!!

  • @safred Feb 16

Just had a blast of your latest tracks on Soundcloud, cool stuff mate! I realised that it possibly has a Zappa influence in there. The style and arrangements remind me of some of his stuff! I like that you have some nice variation in the tracks, and each one does something that I'm not expecting πŸ˜€

  • @panch  Feb 15

Thanks for the comment, will check out your songs.

  • @safred Feb 15

Cheers mate πŸ˜€ Its a bit of a long one!

  • @safred Feb 14

Thanks again for your great comments mate πŸ˜€ I checked out your Vimeo link, thank you for that, some really nicely produced work, very impressed πŸ˜€ If you think some of my stuff could fit, would be more than happy to do some soundtrack work πŸ˜€

  • @seppo Feb 13

    Love your stuff dude πŸ˜€
    Both thumbs up.

  • @n1742  Feb 10

Thanks for your comments. I’ll have a listen to yours and the EP.

  • @safred Feb 8

Cheers mate, thanks for checking out my stuff, glad to hear you have been enjoying it πŸ˜€ Making music is a way to stay sane in these crazy times!

  • @safred Feb 7

Thanks again for the comment mate, much appreciated πŸ˜€ Yep, I am a big fan of all things Blade Runner !:)

  • @sunnymae  Feb 6

Thanks for the analogue nod on Invocation! I'm looking forward to re-tracking this one with a gullah stick pounder! More analogue goodness.
Your backstory is full of adventure and life well lived so far. Gonna take a listen to more! Cheers. πŸ˜€
