FAWM number 13 for me.

I don't need people to thank me for song comments or even reciprocate. I'm happy with a pay-it-forward kind of thing.

I don't currently have a day job, so should have plenty of time this year. Hopefully this means I produce more and not just procrastinate...

Pronouns - she/her

Edit 15/2/19 - Well, I got a job starting Monday, which is cool in some ways but means my plans to be super-productive in FAWM may have to be re-thought.

Thank you for your kind comments on my spoken word song that CTS produced..Me as Your Gun....so much fun πŸ˜€

  • @kahlo2013  Mar 8

Thanks, Helen. I think he did an awesome job.

  • @sherrycanary  Mar 6

Thank you, a little late, for listening and commenting on Club Midnight, my MetaFAWM song!

  • @fourzeroes  Mar 3

There's not a lot to get! Two standalone EJ songs and two from the LK soundtrack. Bit disappointed no-one spotted the pride/rock reference, or that I said "have a lie-in" though.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 25

Ok no worries! I hope that you get everything done!

  • @guatecoop  Feb 25

Hey there! I think that I might have a song for you.....Interested in singing?' It isn't done with all of the trimmings yet, but I just thought of you....

  • @tootoobee  Feb 22

Thank you! That will do πŸ˜€ It's a morph anyway πŸ˜‰

  • @lhcisco  Feb 22

Hey! I sent you a dropbox link with the music. It's a WAV. Hope you're inspired by it.

    Peace.

  • @tootoobee  Feb 22

Hi Helen, I'm next to you in the morph chain now. Could you tell me which chords you used? I'm not very good at figuring out chords and it always takes me ages... Thank you!

  • @lhcisco  Feb 21

Sleater-Kinney hmm? I love them. I think I've seen them 3 times? Anypoop, I may have some music for you to throw your voice down on if you're down. I mean I have to record it, but yeah.

  • @saulius Feb 21

I like your FAWM page and how you use the site to evolve as an artist and interconnect with others. 13 seasons! This is my first FAWM and first attempt to expose my music. This month on this site has exposed me to process of song creation on a worldwide scale. In turn, it's taught me about myself, how I think and work, what I care about, and how I want to grow as an artist. It's still a solitary venture for me. I don't know how to collaborate. I'm also very scared of making mistakes, throwing something up that isn't good enough, and I realized that that limits me. But at least I'm aware, thanks to this site.

  • @fourzeroes  Feb 20

I have now recorded it into my phone so I can wander round and think about it πŸ˜€

  • @fourzeroes  Feb 19

It arrived! Nice mailer. I should play it and participate, but tbh I'm recovering from the last tape and the stress of playing without the computer to hide behind. πŸ˜‰

  • @sph  Feb 18

Thanks for telling me that Where and Why isn't actually done on a 4track. Let me put it differently: you used the four elements of rock music - bass, drums, guitar and voice - to produce a compelling song.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 17

    πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 17

I think it could also work effectively as a soulful emotional ballad with your vocals and a guitar if that is better for you. I’ve been loving hearing that style in some of your recent songs. So run whatever direction it takes you. I know it will be awesome.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 17

Would love that, Helen, thank you!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 16

I think Disconnect, Somewhere to Go, Forests and Meadows, or Crossroads and Cobblestones would all work with guitar and sing easily in my head.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 16

Hey! Anything you want to try with guitars would be awesome! I have updated my list so all songs with demos already are marked and I’m very open to girl with guitar demos - those are some of my favorite.

  • @kristi  Feb 16

Hi! Yeah, sure....go ahead with the piano waltz for my lyric, Shh...No Sounds (or whatever is inspired in you)! I look forward to hearing what you come up with!

  • @soundornoise  Feb 16

Congrats on the job! You're already 10 songs in, so that's still good going

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 16

Congrats on your new job! I hope it is fulfilling and rewarding and that your colleagues are great!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 16

Thanks for checking out bad ass... electro punk with attitude? Yeah that would be perfect if only I knew someone who could pull that off...

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 15

    β€˜Your’

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 15

Thank you. I’m am blessed that wonderful generous collaborators breathe beautiful life into my words and I really appreciate you comments on songs they have done with me!

  • @wacha  Feb 14

Thanks for the feedback on "Dusty Old Black Boots" I will definitely be working on a larger arrangement after FAWM.

  • @spinhead Feb 14

I always worry about posting my silly songs, and FAWM always proves that worry to be silly πŸ˜‰ Thanks.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 10

Rarrrrr! you are hilarious in your comments and I love it. Thank you so much! What is amazing to me is how you are doing all of these crazy different styles and killing it! I love the music that you have done this year and we are only about a week in!!!!!! Good god, you have a crazy amount of talent and interest. Here's to three more weeks!

  • @akokulit Feb 9

Thank you for stopping by my song. Adding your songs to my playlist for a FAWM listening marathon. Hope you're having a good FAWM time 😁

  • @kovbleu  Feb 6

Thanks for listening to "Another Way" - I appreciate your comment! Yeah, that little counter part was one of my initial chorus melody ideas when I first put the track into Reaper and hadn't heard it yet. Since Dave just sends me the music track I like to press play and record and see what I come up with on initial listen through. I had tried several takes/ideas... and then after I wrote the chorus part I liked I accidentally turned on one of my initial take layers and I really liked how they sounded together so I went back and figured out words to that background part. It all worked out!

  • @carbonribs1 Feb 6

    Thanks for your comment! 😊

  • @hummingbear Feb 6

Thanks for your comment on Bike Ride. If anyone can take it to the wild side, it's TC.

  • @stevenwesleyguiles  Feb 4

re: my song I'll Rip My Heart Till You See Cracks

I may very well go back and add a big ending. It wasn't ended that way for any particular reason other than i was trying to get a good start to FAWM and finish. πŸ˜€

  • @s7even  Feb 4

Thank you very much for your kind words on β€œNever Looking Back”.

  • @fourzeroes  Feb 4

Heh. I guess I hoped it was a theory thing so I could like read a Wikipedia page or watch a YouTube video and scientifically be able to write like that. I guess I'll just have to pray for osmosis. And, thanks for commenting on my song. Will I square the circle and email it to its subject? I dunno. Feelings are hard!

  • @srcoops Feb 4

Thanks for your kind words in regard to The Light that Never Ends.

  • @wacha  Feb 3

Thank you for your kinds words on "Into the Dark".

  • @expendablefriend  Feb 1

(As long as they don't begin with A)

  • @expendablefriend  Feb 1

Maybe we could write about how disgusting pizza is, and how much nicer it would be to eat vegetables.

  • @expendablefriend  Feb 1

I think we have no choice in the matter. The gauntlet has officially been laid down.

Hey, we could call ourselves The Slice-a-Plenty?

  • @seemanski  Feb 1

Good tip, thanks for letting me know. I'm much more of the make it up as I go along kind of person. I shall have a search around YouTube to see what I can find.
