hey! thx for your kind words re my song much appreciated
Thanks very much for the comments - really pleased to hear you say that about the production, I only got my MacBook and Logic Pro X a few months ago and this is my first attempts at recording with this set up, so it’s great to hear positive reviews about the sounds ☺️
Thanks for listening and commenting on my collab song with kristi "I Can't Wait", I appreciate it!
Glad you liked Seconds Out, playing around with classical stuff is great fun, the effect you can get from a small amount of creative effort is awesome
Work calls, don’t you know. It’ll be nice when I can focus on the hobbies instead (October)
I love deep red Les Pauls. My special is the classic TV yellow but needs some work to fix a bad hum. I didn’t use it at all for FAWM. My favorite Les Paul is my Epiphone Trad Pro. Gold Top (got it for my 50th) but with the dark red mahogany back and neck. Inexpensive and is so great to play (and coil taps!). Guitars are fun, eh?!😎
Thanks for the comment on my rock opera song!
That is much more forward thinking than my "FAWM 2020", "FAWM 2021" etc album titles, haha
It was fun playing around with your lyrics- you have so much talent. Now one day you must tell me the story behind you Gm7 name... and then your real name
if I could find my damn boots! 😀
Thanks for your comments on my songs! My songs here at FAWM are all drafts with virtual instruments. They will sound totally different when guitars are beeing recorded! Hope that all will happen 😀
Thank you for your lovely feedback. Looking forward to checking out your songs this week 😀
Hey - thank you for your comment on Jackdaw song! They are indeed very crow like although sometimes I think they might be cleverer. Then sometimes I think they might be dumb as rocks. They're fun to watch anyway! 😀
Thanks, Garry, for your comment on Your Last Good Bet Was Mine - I remember the days we played together and covered those Winehouse tunes. Good memories!
thank you very much again for your kind comment <3
Thx a lot for comments. That Bolero comparison.... Feeling a little proud...
No protests hear. Keep on playing my friend.
Thanks for commenting on My Last Song. This being my 6th FAWM, it is always good to be done.
oh, I don't know what is happening to me ... thank you very much again from the bottom of my heart for your comment on "Every twice in a while" <3
Thank you very much for your kind comment <3
It has been amazingly productive for me and quite a tool for diversifying my genre mix. So pleased I stumbled across this place and I will be back next year.
Cheers but latest one really isn't me at all. just my piano sample
Hi Garry! Unfortunately I’m not sure whether I will have time to do another collab. I’d hate to commit to something I may not be able to finish before the end of February. Always happy to collab outside of FAWM though! 😀
Thank for your comments on my song! Let's see if there will be a vocalist 😀 and congrats for winning FAWM!
Hi - I think that's best - I am drowning in work and language study and so far behind now! I'm so very sorry, I should not have agreed to do it. I hope you can find someone to do it. Let me know, and I'll make sure to listen and comment x
Thanks, although I can't take too much credit for it - it's literally what I see when I turn my head to the right 😀
Thank you so much for the listens! Appreciate yah.
Glad you liked our "Snowbound Blues" - I can't take much credit for the instrumentation. I entered the chords, chose a style and "Band in a Box" did the hard work. Though I do play my primitive lead guitar. 😉
RE: FAWMBLUES -thx so much for taking the time to listen and leave a comment on FAWMBLUES! I appreciate that immensely! 😀
Hey, thanks for your kind words about 'day before dawn' I'm especially happy tou like the beat cause this FAWM has been all about finally learning how to use an MPC 😀 Also congrats on finishing your FAWM already. Well done!
thank you gm7 for listening my music
Thanks so much for your “Skibbereen” comment!
Thanks for checking out "Frog Sex Party"! So glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for your kind words on 'Lament' much appreciated!
A new job sure can be stressful, but a new country where you don't speak the language and have to organise a bank account, residency and medical stuff, all with a pre-existing autoimmune disease, is a new level of stress! Seriously. Please don't count on me managing this, but I will try! Also, I owe you an apology for taking it on without remembering how many limitations I have, so for that I am very sorry.
Hi, I'm sorry, I'm going very slowly, as you can see from my count. I am in a new country, with a new job, and I probably overestimated how much time I would have. If you need the collab towards your count, I'd make a plan B, otherwise, I'll get there as soon as I can.
Ha! Yes, good ear. I keep the nails on my right hand longer. I can use a pick, but don’t get on with them. I also only use my thumb and pointing finger when I pick. If it’s good enough for Django...
thank u for your comments on boy of te year. i have recently completed a novel and worried that one of the criticisms a publisher or agent may have is that it has too many chapters and all of them are too short. then i thought that applies to life itself, so i included the line in the song. glad you liked it
Thanks so much for your comment on Trigger You! Total change for me, but the best fun I’ve had alone this fawm!
Thanks for your kind words on 'Who Are You Today', much appreciated!
Dear Garry,
Thank you fer listening to my song. I thought it was funny that you pooped yourself. Then I saw you had just made a poop joke but that was funny too!
Your pal,
Opossum
Hmm...there's SO MANY vocalists here that could really kill it on your track. I don't really wanna name specific folks, cause then someone might be like "oh, why didn't he suggest ME, too??!" lol
I know...nobody probably would ever feel that way, but still, y'kno?
I KNOW you can get someone to pick it up if you just put it out there in the forums or something - its a great track and someone will jump at it!
Thanks for the comment on Like this Forever. It has been my favorite so far.
Hi and thanks for your lovely comment!! 😀
Hahaha. Yes, fish and chips are preferable.
Thanks for commenting!
Boulder County Rose is second ever country song. I love @kingwoodkowboy 's lyrics.
Thanks for the feedback.
Thank you for taking the time to listen to my song and commenting. Much appreciated.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh. Got it now.
Hi Gary!
Hey... thanks for listening to my ukulele identity song and for your kind words. Wow... really humbled by your thought that more people should listen to it. Thank you so much.
Thanks my friend. This is the most writing I've done at work in a very long time, and one of these things is a brand new gig so it zapped all my word juice for a while. Things are flowing better this day and yesterday. I put down about three vocal lines yesterday so now I just need to set some lyrics to them and record. I won't worry about the mixing stuff as much - that eats up so much time. But I also hate hearing my own mistakes - that's what FAWM is for I guess - to remove those self shaming tendencies and to get better by doing.
Thanks for your comment on When My Heart Was Not Mine - you're such a pal!
You are very welcome.
Thanks for the comment on my rock opera song!
Well that is my MO as well... I love handing off music to lyricist/vocalists!
You bet! Looking forward to hearing what you come up with (and checking out your other music, which I am very very behind on)
That sounds great! You said that you had one in mind - want to email it over? I received your other email safely 😀
Thanks for your comments on "Presidential Blues". It started off earlier todays as Biden Blues. But I have lost enough friends so title change.
Thanks for commenting on my silly song!
Hello hello. Thanks for the comment on my collab with kahlo.
Thanks for your kind comments
Thanks for listening to my song and the kind words .cheers mate
I look forward to hearing more.
Sorry got turning up late to your party. Thanks for you comments and kind words.
Hi! Sorry I have been a bit quiet - crazy week - only just getting caught up 😀 Thank you for your comment on Soul In Motion - I'd totally love to do a collab with you 😀 Let me know!
Thanks for listening to and commenting on my song!
Thanks for the comment!
Hi Garry. I haven't commented on "It's All Right"... yet. I will as soon as I get near my PC though. 😉
Thanks for listening!
Thank you for your kind comments
Thank you for the comment on Covid Requiem. Appreciated!
Thank you so much, it's wonderful to be in this community.
Hello! Thank you so much for listening! 😀
Thanks for your kind words on 'Everything changes'
p.s. - Thanks mom.
Thanks!! It has been quite a time, but I am doing so much better. Still a bit to go, but able to do the things I've wanted to do for FAWM. Much appreciated!
Thank you! I keep making infinitesimal progress, for example, I have confirmed today that my mic does, in fact work, as does my AudioBox, since I can pick up sound through it. Just none of it wants to actually talk to Studio One/my computer. Oh well! There's always my phone and crappy computer mic until I get it sorted, which served me fine enough for the last 5 FAWMs! 😉
Hi Garry. Cool name (GM7). enjoy this year. is it your second fawm?
I...Am...Ready! Hunger Games...er...wait...no...FAWM!
Hey, thanks for the heads up. I like the song No More, so I'll try and write a lyric in a similar pattern for our song collab.
Sure, if I have some nice electronic beats, we could collab.
Is there some of your old stuff online?
Edit: Thank you!
Thanks - it's off for repair now. And in the meantime I've replaced it with a Steinberg UR816C. You're right about those pre-amps - they sound lovely!
Thanks for stopping by! Hello to you as well!
Mmm. I've just been listening to Pacific Breeze 2. Lovely, airy flow to it. I really like the unhurried way you gradually develop the track. I'm definitely looking forward to your FAWM tunes. 😀
Hi Garry. That's very kind of you, thank you. 😀
Thanks for sharing the black cat love. Twenty years is amazing but it's never enough. My Verna was totally the boss until she left us in 2017 and left brown tabby Van in charge. He shared the last four years with me as an only cat until this week, and would have been 19 in May. It's not an easy time, but it helps having fellow fawmers around who understand!
Cool - ta. I downloaded the solution Elesimo suggested, and will give that a go first, I think. I've been getting overexcited and buying all the things lately and it's probably best to stop that.
Aw, thanks! 😁
Re. Steely Dan, fully agreed, about Aja and Gaucho, too. There's a great book, Steely Dan FAQ, that goes through all of the band's albums, and those by Fagen and Becker, and lists all of the musicians who played on them. Highly recommended. One of my all-time favourite songs is Your Gold Teeth on Countdown to Ecstasy. In particular the back to back keyboard and guitar solos starting at 2:49. Not to mention the electric sitar on Do It Again. I love their jazz stylings, cynical lyrics, amazing musicianship and impeccable recording/mixing/mastering.
There's an interesting thread on Gearslutz about buying monitors. Much discussion about Kali's but the 8" vs 6" woofers. P.S. Steely Dan and REM are two of my all time favourites. Rock on!
Looking forward to hearing some fuzz...I will give a go with a Fuzzy Tele! Have fun with FAWM.
Looking forward to hearing what ya write this FAWM, and I agree wholeheartedly...long live the fuzz!
Hey dere! Happy to "see" ya around again for another round of FAWM!
Thanks for the welcome! 😀
Hi, there! Yeah, I was already excited for FAWM this year, after all the crazy things that we've all been through since the last one... but the new gear definitely makes me even more excited. I love getting ready for FAWM, preparing my studio, working on a template in my DAW, choosing samples that I'm going to use.
Have a great FAWM!
Hahahaha.... Sorry about that! But SOMEONE had to say it eventually, and it just happened to be for your comment, lol. 😉
*CTS tosses up the peace sign* Yo!
I just had to step over her to get out of the bedroom/home office 😂 I hope you have an awesome time this year!
Oh man, I didn’t even notice where you are from!! What a cool and unique place to call home. I’ve only made it as far as Nova Scotia, NB, and PEI, but I would love to visit your province sometime. Great!!
