Artist Bio

Influences:   There's a Universe of possibilities... Regina Spektor, Lorde, Elliott Smith, Julia Nunes, Classical Music™, Musical Theatre. Have gotten comparisons to The Flaming Lips, Nahko Bear, Kermit the Frog (lol). Will probably update over time.

This year's project is still under development. I was thinking of writing songs based on people I know, but I'm open to whatever ends up flowing out.

Always gotta say wow to the people you used to be. A chronology: I came, I wrote, I conquered (2016), I lost (2017), I disappeared (2018), I jumped and fell (2019), and I soared to new heights (2020). 2021 year promises to be a little less manic, and a little more balanced, in my approach.

I’m a queer, nonbinary, Asian artist in Baltimore. He/They.

Always under construction.

Rock on, FAWMers!

Gino, file names. Example, Mr.Owl which I'm listening to now, you ahve the filename uploaded to Soundcloud as "Mr. Owl demo.aac" What you do is name your file before uploading to soundcloud or whatever as something like "GinoMakesMusic Mr. Owl demo.aac" My standard file naming is
"TIM_FATCHEN-Songname_goes_here.mp3". Or something like that. So even if the song gets separated from its original cover notes or what you named it on soundcloud, in a collection it will be obviously yours.

hey again, so what's the best way to chat about strings-things? thanks

Hi, Gino. Thank you for your comment on Art by Chance. There have been offers to set it to music, but I tend to take a non-exclusive approach to collabs (on the basis of years of excellent multiple versions), so if it does inspire a song in you, you are still welcome to bring it to life.

May just wish to check in with @theresaj to make sure she's fine with someone else doing a take, though.

In any event, I appreciate the visit and the compliment.

Hey, thanks for commenting on my forum post! Let's keep in touch. P.s. I had a fun few weeks travelling over Maryland once (a bit weird for an Englishman, I know) - Frederick, Hagerstown, Deep Creek Lake, Gaithersburg, Middletown etc.

I'm a big fan of using songs to explore my feelings, and I like to get a bit absurd as a way to express the core of the feelings without trying to rationalize them. If you've not heard my stuff from previous years, I do lyrical improvisation, discovering the lyrics and melody at the same time. The goal is to out-pace my inner critic and be interesting enough that my muse shows up. I don't have a lot of filters when it comes to the forums, and I have less when it comes to my songs. 😀

I checked out your SoundClouds. Your music sounds good. Why aren't you on Bandcamp?

I give my music away, but I've also had a sale because I made that option available. (My stuff is strictly pay-if-you-want.)

Gino, I hope you're coming back this year! <3
