Artist Bio

Not really a musician but have played a bit with DAWs. I am, however, a writer, so should be able to come up with some lyrics. This is my first FAWM, be gentle!

The drums on my tracks are all loops from MT Power Kit ( It's a plug in for your DAW that you can use for free (or pay a smallish amount for) and it comes with a decent variety of midi loops that you can drag right into a track on Reaper and then copy, paste, edit if required.
There's also a thread on the forums here where folks recommend other equivalent drum VSTs.

FYI your "responses" here in your soundboard, -- they won't see it. That only works in the Forums with the @ID_Name.

You have to go direct to their SoundBoard otherwise, -- click on their ID.

There's a "TalkToDeath" challenge in the Form, -- leverage your "cold" ? (voice), and get one in there ๐Ÿ˜€

Remember? 5090 occurs in July, 90 days. Look it up in the forums or ask, you may not be aware. You'll be well by then!

Welcome. Hope you enjoy the challenge and the community. I dig your first track.

Wishing you much success for your first year of FAWM!

Modern music technology is really great in that all you need is a DAW and the desire to make music.

When I began, I had a laptop and no MIDI keyboard, so I was drawing in every note with a mouse into the piano roll. I still don't consider myself a pianist but there are some tricks that help. For one, you can quantize notes as you record them so they are more in time. Another thing you can do is record MIDI in "overdub" mode where you can add more notes in different passes of the same section. Then there's the trick of slowing down the tempo to half or less-than-that so you have time to hit keys to place notes closer to where you want them.

I hope that you can learn to have fun in the midst of all the terror. It may never go away, but after a few rounds you start to get used to it and can continue in spite of it.

Thank you all! Trying to contain my terror at doing this when I am a) not really a musician, more a dabbler and b) have only a DAW, a midi keyboard (and I am NOT a pianist) and a mic.... LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS!

Welcome to FAWM! I hope you have a great time... itโ€™s the best online community Iโ€™ve ever found. Any questions feel free to ask and I hope you find the drums useful!

I see youโ€™ve already met my younger brother... heโ€™s pretty awesome ๐Ÿ˜Ž
