Itโ€™s been brought to my attention that the @mentions in my song posts donโ€™t actually do anything to let that person know Iโ€™ve said anything to them. So, yes, here we are, towards the end of March, but for my own vanity and sanity, Iโ€™m responding to a now 6-week old comment you kindly left for my track Wide Awake? (https://fawm.org/songs/115232/):
"Yep, you're spot on with identifying the co-writer's top-line melody! To be honest, it was all built around that. I take very little credit for the song. Writing credit negotiations are intense, and on-going."

  • @adforperu  Mar 4

EVENING! Thanks again for the voicemail way back in January... it's going in Saturday's show! A most excellent remix

  • @iwilleatyou Feb 26

Cheers for the listens and comments! "Poop stuffed down the coin slot"...that's your next song title. Have fun!

  • @judypie  Feb 21

GIVE ME UR PRECISE COORDINATES AND WE WILL BE RIGHT THERE!! ๐Ÿ˜ Looks like a dreeeam dude!

  • @hbusse  Feb 21

Thanks for the kind comment on My Dear Heart. โ€œCandelabra budgetโ€ tickled me, bwahaha! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Guess thatโ€™s my music video concept now.

  • @silvermediapro  Feb 19

thx for the comment! glad you're enjoying the tunes ๐Ÿ˜ with regard to your question on how i output so many tracks so quickly, i tend to think of musical ideas vertically; if i'm playing around with my midi keyboard & come up with a good riff, my head immediately fills up really quickly with ideas for layers to add on top of it. then, when i've made a track, i'll just improvise over it 9 times out of 10 and call it a day.

  • @laytay Feb 14

I REALLY love yer stuff. Just binge-listened to everything here and then everything on spotify. Stop distracting me from writing! Such great aesthetic. And treatment. Maybe you're looking for people to produce? eh? eh? (I'm serious if that's something that u might fancy).

Fluency and confidence w/ my production tools is on my list too. And to get some production tools heh. Curious what all you use. And not to go on and on about treatment, b/c any of these would be gems stripped down too. Solid writing. And so diverse.

  • @splittybooms  Feb 12

Hey, you asked about the vocal samples - I get the majority of the from Splice and do stuff to them. But I've also recently tried Arcade by Output which also has a lot of vocal stuff, and is itself a sampler.

  • @themelgoexperience  Feb 12

Thanks so much for your comment on my song!

  • @chroes  Feb 11

Hi there, thank you for your comment on Imaginary Ocean. You asked how I'm doing the #voiceguitar sounds? I try to mimic a distorted guitar with my voice while forming different vowels. It's very embarrising, yet simple and quite effective, once some processing is done on that track.

  • @lizchids  Feb 11

  • @tangle  Feb 10

Thank you so much for the kind feedback on "Rising Sunsets". I love that you connected it to hyperlapse because I had imagined timelapse while working on the song. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @pumpkinhead Feb 10

You make my day Evin. <3

  • @ampersandman  Feb 10

Thanks a lot for your feedback on "Emancipate". Coming from someone with your skills that means a ton to me.

  • @emkaydeebee  Feb 10

Wow, thank you so much for your comment on The Sirenโ€™s Lament!

  • @stephenwordsmith  Feb 9

Adjectival to a fault, that's me.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment on A Happy Little Accident. Approachable lyricist with unapproachable lyrics etc. etc.

  • @celineellis  Feb 7

Thanks so much for your critical feedback - much appreciated!! you are totally right - the third line in the chorus will be altered for sure because it doesn't sing quite right either. definitely a song i will spend some time on in the future! have a great FAWM

  • @steffan  Feb 7

Oh no way! I could have sworn it was the "duh" from "bad guy" with a little bit of schmutz on it.

  • @bithprod Feb 6

Thanks for your nice comments on I'm Not Your Healer. If you want to collaborate, that would be great! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @princesssavania Feb 5

Thank you so much for listening to my songs and taking the time to comment โ˜บ๏ธ

  • @chroes  Feb 5

Thank you for your kind comment! I'm listening to your songs rn, and I'm surprised and delighted!

  • @apauls Feb 5

Apologies, just meant to tag you because I used a title from your penny dish... I wasn't aware of the fallout that would come from adding you as a collaborator. This platform still confuses me a bit, to be honest.

  • @susyblue  Feb 5

Hi Evin I'm loving your vibes! If you have any of your classily produced sounds n want some of my vocals on it please lettuce know! (****said with caution maybe never actually getting around to it, good intentions//hell//something something)

  • @stephentanner Feb 2

Thanks for your comment. Yeah, I couldn't believe how liberating the #hankinhell method was. It made me use chord progressions i would never have otherwise been drawn to.

  • @jacobeverettwallace  Feb 2

You're spot on about the Spitfire piano. That Firewood patch just does things for me.

  • @willyviste Feb 2

Thank you for your comment on Proof of concept:)

  • @spiffyflinger Feb 2

i have to echo what other people said and say i love your influences. kazumi totaka is a god. also, thank you for giving me the idea to chop up some j-pop a cappellas - that could end up being a really fun and rewarding experiment!

  • @samplebandit  Feb 2

re: your comment on Call Me

thanks (: making the tune from start to finish took from 14:00 today till 22:00 today (with some other activites sprinkled in). a lot of selfmade assets being piled up speeds things up quite good!

  • @rowankingsbury Feb 1

I absolutely LOVE your "influences" wow, and thank you for the nice comment!

  • @judypie  Feb 1

๐Ÿ˜ you found the hidden meaning! Urinary tract infection ๐Ÿ˜›

  • @hbusse  Feb 1

Thanks for the listen and kind comment on Flutter! And, it's easy to have an in-tune piano when it's digital, haha - my upright is in a bit rougher shape to be sure. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @judypie  Feb 1

Haha yeah, when inspiration didnโ€™t immediately hit me the moment I sat down to write, I just started listening instead. Ammagonnago try again real soon ๐Ÿ˜

  • @timothybracken Feb 1

Nice thank you! Iโ€™m still terrible at this website ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

  • @jackdawfactories  Feb 1

"Now this, Valerie, is a Turnip Quartz. You hear a lot about Rose Quartz and its ilk, but the TQ - that's what we call it in the trade - the TQ has a completely unique power to suck the joy out of any space."
"Wow, Trip. And I can have that power for only 29.99?"
    "Plus shipping, absolutely Valerie."

  • @timothybracken Feb 1

    Iโ€™m here!

  • @fonte  Jan 31

Can't wait to hear what you come up with this month, and love your note, I can relate to so much of that so really good to see it written down! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @paulhenry  Jan 31

I like your handwritten list. Especially, to paraphrse: feeling like a beginner, and realizing that that never needs to change
    AND
    cultivate silence.

Now, just who are those overlords?

& BTW, if you want some upright bass on your tunes this year, let me know.

  • @chasingandromeda  Jan 30

    Have a great FAWM, Evin!

  • @jackdawfactories  Jan 29

Midnight Hour is still a regular play for me. Light like the wind on a clothesline? Fuckin' a my friend.

  • @ninipuff Jan 28

oh hey. a fellow oakland fawmer! yayyy

  • @joshbelville  Jan 24

Also, one of my titles is "frequency babooshka" which is just the fucking best

  • @joshbelville  Jan 24

Evin, I look forward to the bright, Teletubbies-esque ball hovering in the sky that is you. Both mischievous and solemn, giggling and devious. Full of wonder and spit.

    Oh and also your music

  • @stevenwesleyguiles  Jan 24

May your overlord prayers be answered.
    ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @stevenwesleyguiles  Jan 23

Dear Evin!! I'm here for it!
    ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @tamsnumber4  Jan 21

    Happy FAWM!!

  • @pifie Jan 19

Hi Evin!!! NICE!!! I have experimented with my classical with bass strings, and came back to how it was (just 2 bass strings)... I think it's great for song-making.

    See ya in February!

  • @kovbleu  Jan 18

I'm very much looking forward to hearing your music again!

  • @cairobraga  Jan 15

    it's time for fawmertubbies

  • @splittybooms  Jan 11

Its making funny noises, so i think its on.
    Here's to making some music.

  • @steffan  Jan 11

Does this mean I can count on hearing something from YOU this year?

  • @adforperu  Jan 10

Oh schtop! I look forward to yours too, sir!

  • @judypie  Jan 10

    *blushes* ๐Ÿ˜

    P.s. that should be a p.s down there, not a p.a.

  • @judypie  Jan 10

I MISS YOU AND YOUR MUSIQ. I have primed my ears. P.a. excellent choice of overlords ๐Ÿ˜
