Eric Distad 30

Oregon City US   Feb 2004

Artist Bio

Influences:   A lot of you wonderful Fawmers!

Eric Distad is a singer/songwriter from Minnesota. By day, he is a mild-mannered IT Professional, but by night he is a not-quite-as-mild-mannered musician...

Again this year, we are publishing our Geeky tracks as collabs with our band account @thefaithfulsidekicks.

Looking for the Geeky combined talents of Eric and Jen - Head over to @thefaithfulsidekicks page. πŸ˜€

BTW - The Faithful Sidekicks have two cds out and are gearing up to release a third one this year!!

I'm not sure what this year will bring... that's why it's fun! πŸ˜€

Update: 2/17/20 - We were traveling for the last 10 days and I haven't had time to record or listen anywhere near as much as I had hoped! So I'm very behind on a lot of things... but I'm still here. I'm hoping to engage in a commenting spree soon, as well as post some more songs! πŸ˜€

Hey Eric, - feel free to delete the thread. Or move it to "free for all" (maybe should have been there?, who knew in this context of FAWM over). If it was irritating anyone, your post is the first notion of it πŸ˜€ Who's "here"?

I'm not sure how one defines discussion, but there was allot through muitiple threads, all understood as one conversation, - just fyi'in. I would not expect you read every word we wrote, - that would be crazy πŸ˜€ hahhh!

The title was and then went, - in this CV-19 environment:
    [Thread Title]
Lyric Only, Post FAWM work, pre-5090 LAT

    [Initial Comment]
Yes, indeed a limited audience thread. Some I speak to here and there and everywhere were curious to have, see, review mine, maybe others writings only too... ...

So, like I said, if locking it is helpful to whomever is bothered, then just deleting it, may be even more helpful, -- deleted it! Honestly, it won't bother me in the least; and likely "dzd" either (I would think he did not write direct and has a copy, maybe fyi him first? if choose to delete it.)

All the best and hope all is well in this National Shut Down with you and your family where ever they may be.

Hey, Eric - due to all the downer news, I'm running behind on my March FAWM listens... How long does it stay open for the post-FAWM listening?

  • @audrey  Mar 5

Thanks for the kind words on my piece Tailing the Suspect. Much appreciated.

  • @kahlo2013  Mar 3

Wow! I have a lot of wonderful music to catch up on this month!

  • @janeg  Feb 29

How do you write so many and still comment everywhere? Thanks so much for your comments on five of mine; I really appreciate it.

  • @jeffwhitmire47 Feb 26

Thank you so much for the comments on "Twitter Anxiety" and "Ballerina Paleontologist!" That means a lot coming from a musician i have so much respect for!! Thanks for listening!

  • @ceilidh  Feb 22

Thanks for taking the time to comment on Oneonta Gorge, Golden Chain, and Soulwood! And thank you for putting the link to SoundCloud on the FAWM. Faith Hunter passed last year's FAWMsong, Beast is Best, to her fans 2 days ago and there's over 800 listens! Soulwood just went up this morning and already has over 100. SQUEEEEE!!! πŸ˜€

  • @ceilidh  Feb 17

Congratulations on #14! Think you'll make the song circle on March 7th to flash some new stuff?

  • @mikedebenham  Feb 14

14 already! You machine. I've been slow to get going this year, but I'm still up for a collab. If you've got any ideas about genre or who does what, give me a shout.

  • @colgoo Feb 7

My spouse is galego on BGG...I haven’t made my own account there because it feels redundant....I mean, we share all the games. You might be interested in our one day board game event that we do every summer here in Massachusetts, VlaadaCon. It’s a Saturday devoted to all his games. It’s the weekend before GenCon, so Vlaada ships us his newest games to play in return for some photos and press coverage. If you decided to make the trip to the other side of the country, I could try to plan a FAWMer event, too....It would be during 50/90.

  • @fireball  Feb 6

ha ha! hey there, eric. when i saw your message earlier, you still had "16th" written in your bio. i was gonna hassle you for that, but you're already on it. fawm 17 for me, as well --- and you're already a touchdown ahead of me !!!! i'll do a february 29th feast if necessary, but i don't think it'll come to that. however, after weeks of january downtime, i'm drowning in studies right now... so it may be slow for the first half of the month. i've got a headful of ideas that are driving me insane, and i hope i can wrangle some half-decent recordings out of them. maybe some friday night demos...

  • @sandicove2015  Feb 5

and Ill listen to your songs. does anyone ever put one in that they worked on prior to feb? I sometimes start in January because I get a little nervous about that unusual?

  • @ceilidh  Feb 4

Discovered SoundCloud link, and music is now online for FAWMsongs as well as the songs written for OryCon 41 last November!

  • @toddnorem  Feb 4

Hi Eric. Great to see you're ahead of the game with 4 songs already. I'm curious if your new location will bring out a different element. It's quite different writing songs in February when you just go outside. πŸ˜€

  • @ceilidh  Feb 3

Glad you enjoyed The Nisbet Family Curse! It was challenging to try to condense it down to verse sizes.

Will try to get the music up soon!

  • @cphaurckker  Feb 3

Looking forward to hearing what you create this year!

  • @calicocat Feb 2

Hi Eric! I hope FAWM goes well for you and Jen!

  • @famouspatrick  Feb 1

Thanks for the welcome. It's starting to feel like a tradition. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

  • @autoclamp  Jan 31

Hi Eric! I've always wanted to collaborate with someone in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks for moving out there for the sole reason of making my dreams come true!

  • @johncrossman  Jan 31

  • @tspoon  Jan 31

how are things in OR my friend? We will miss seeing you at the MN coffee shop scene. im sure this new west coast life will produce a new sound scape. maybe surf rock? have a good FAWM E

  • @mikedebenham  Jan 30

Great to see you back again! I just realised I've been here fifteen years without an Eric Distad collaboration. Maybe we can fix that this year?

  • @rayboneor  Jan 23

    Howdy neighbor!

  • @natrin Jan 20

Hello, have a great FAWM! 😁

  • @sapient  Jan 19

Sixteen years! Wow. Your FAWM just got its drivers license and is currently in the back yard necking hard cider out of a paper bag... πŸ˜‰

  • @jmadison  Jan 18

Hey Eric! Just dropping in to say "Hi!"

  • @jacobeverettwallace  Jan 18

    Happy Fawming, fellow new Oregonian!

  • @tsunamidaily  Jan 14

have the best FAWM this year!

  • @dasbinky  Jan 13

"Eric Distad" is an anagram for (among other things) "acrid diets" and "diced sitar". Either seems like a good title for this year. Also, "Racist Died", but that seems less in your wheelhouse.

    FAWM on, good sir.
