Holy imbecile, tender and mild. He/him.
2020: Since last year I have (a) retired, and (b) released a solo album made up partly of FAWM/5090 songs, and (c) played a lot of gigs. Now the challenge is to refocus on writing songs... somehow. I guess the plan is to make minimalist, mostly acoustic folk-pop this time.
PS: you can find my album at the Bandcamp link above. Also on Spotify and Apple Music.

You need to lock the placeholders so they become living Zongs when they cease being placeholders! 😀

Ready willing and able.
you have the snippet and lyrics i sent you?
sent you the music to be clipped and sent for LFC-2. i have already sent the lyrics
Yo, thanks for checking out my latest song, "Haunted". Yeah, I live the bourgee epicenter of Ann Arbor.
I come here for the subtext, don’tcha know.
A comment shower!!! Thank you!
Good old ThumbJam. There’s so much waiting there to be used! I was just hanging out messing around with it one day, just freely experimenting to see what I could make it do that might be a little “off-label” and I ended up taking the flute sound down into extremely low octaves, drenched it in reverb, and played it in the non-stair-stepping pitch slider mode. Exported the audio and plopped it into GarageBand underneath my other two tracks where trimming, looping, and a bajillion automation points later, it is what it is in that song. I’m so happy you heard it; for me, that one song by itself would be enough for this year. I can’t even believe the result. Writing music is magic.
Hey there, thanks for listening, and upping the comments on my one song from 6 to 9! Yeah we are doing that one on Friday, and yes I am trying to go for 60s electric Dylan style on that. The FAWM version is way too relaxed and mellow sounding. And no, that recording is the result of my low-tech situation, it will have to do for now though.
I'm ready to hear your track with the "ducking riff" now. Quack!
Thanks so much for your comment on my song!!!
Hey! Sent you an email. 😀 hope you're having a great weekend.
i sent you an email about the lyrics.
Utterly shameless exploitation of the psychological effect of that delayed move from I to IV. My deepest apologies. 😀
i contacted @lomedae on soundcloud and gave him my email. i'm not sure what else to do unless we cannibalize the corpse we are currently trying to get going for a sub. i would offer to stand in and do double duty, but if i'm not mistaken, i'd be setting my own lyrics to music.....
Hey Rod, hope you've been well. I'm off to a slow start, thanks to an extended migraine siege, but it appears to have finally lifted, so I'll be making up for lost time. 😀 Can't wait to check out your tunes!
don't fight it....
the songs will come when they are ready..
retirement can do a number...it's a big life change..
no worries man...if you already have a bunch of songs..just play em
cheers and have fun
Thanks for the song visit!! It seems more like everything’s right with the world again (which is preposterous given what just happened an hour or two ago)....but your comment helped! And come to think of it, I guess maybe the vox do sort of serve as the backing with the uke as the melody, or at least they job-share.
Heyy! How'd ya know? lol Waving 'hi' from my hermit, introvert cave in Ann Arbor...
Howdy, Rod! I'm "here" in that I am not intending to go for a win, but will at least be listening, commenting, and hopefully joining forces with my pal @deadhead from time to time. My February and March are both fairly jam-packed, but please stay in touch because if I can be involved, I'd love to.
It would be really nice if you could record some kind of sketch. I feel like I work better if I have a colorful canvas to work on instead of blank one, if that makes any sense. haha
Hi Rod! I am glad to see you here again. Last year was not a productive one for me either, the more I am happy to be here back again. Looking for your new songs! Have a great time!
Hey! How are you doing?
Nice, let's work on this. If you can sing that would be really good, because I can't sing to save my life.
Do you have any workflow preference? I was thinking about you sending me the recording and I would build the music around it, but if you would prefer something else just tell me 😀
Tbh I don't know most of your influences, but I will give them a listen and try to make something in a similar style
Solid sounds, dude.
Nice work 😀
Happy fawming to you -- looking forward to hearing what you do this year!
Happy tenth FAWM!
Yeah, it's weird how you can fall out of the habit. If there's anyplace to find help shaking the dust off, it'll be here at FAWM. Good Luck!
Rollllllling on into town.....fawming.
Hey, thanks for getting in touch. Acoustic sounds great to me! It's definitely my wheelhouse. I'm not very good at harmonizing myself, even when I was in choir in middle school I couldn't get it down, even after 3 years! I took a listen to your soundcloud, you're very talented. Parakeet was great. Anyway, if you're down for whatever, we can email and work out more details!
Hi Rod. I'm really glad to see you back here. You are one of my favorites. And you've made an album! I'll definitely listen to it through before Feb 1.
May the Force of Fawm be upon you.
Have a great FAWM Rod.
Gotta hear more downburst this year Rod!
Man, they let anybody in here, don't they...
Hey, good to see you back, too!
Have a great FAWM!
Welcome back! Hang in there!
Hi, Rod! Congrats on the retirement and solo album! I'll have to check it out! Sounds like you've had a lot of changes recently, but you're a strong writer and I'm betting when February 1 comes around... you'll be focused and whatever you write will be awesome! Have a great FAWM 2020!
Thanks for watching my music video! It's amazing what you can do with a GoPro, a friend that knows Aftereffects and many hours of your life!
hey Rod! sooo excited to hear what youve got this febuary!
Hey Rod, thanks good to 'see' you back again too!
I've just watchlisted you, as I had your other account on there but not this one. Have a great FAWM!
I hope you do.
Set those high standards and expectations down at the door and just have fun!! You can do this.
Hi Rod! Good to see you here again! 😊
Congrats on the retirement! Me, I'm just er, "taking a break" from work. But - hey, more time for FAWMing, right?
Represent.... Can't wait to hear more downburst. 😀
Hi Rod!!! My deepest apologies!!! Time to awaken the muse! 😀
have the best FAWM this year!
