Don't have much planned this year. Write shorter songs. Write simpler songs. Don't try so hard to rhyme. Don't try so hard to make sense. Write some songs on my phone. Go for walks.

2/12 update: I've been sick with a mysterious bug the last several days. I keep thinking I'm better and then... relapse. So this has slowed down my already torpid pace.
Last album on the usual places, including https://rodjohnson.hearnow.com/ . New one in process, tentatively titled "Mercy of the Rain," out this summer. Oh, also, look here: https://www.facebook.com/rodjohnsonmusic
Ooh, what a lovely lot of songs to hear!
Rod, can you email your MP3 to me for the exquisite corpse? I searched my inbox and did not see it. email@example.com
Yea! Yes! I wi stich!
I'm not feeling very wordy this year, no lyrics on mine.
These are the lyrics from the snippet sent to me;
Your mom, siblings and landlord
LJ & me
Hi! I'm so curious how you morphed my song! Did you make any progress yet?
In case you're having too little time, maybe it's better to skip this to the next contributor?
Hello sir, here is your 10 seconds, which is actually 19 because there is a ridiculously long tail. The main sample you hear is a free one if you want to utilize it in some shape I can get you a link. And if you don't, well then I won't.
Great work! Do you want me to write something for the bridge part? Perhaps something along the lines of... from the top of my head (I'll keep thinking, though):
Life ain't as simple as ABC
I want to be you
You want to be me
Crap, sorry! I thought you wanted to repost it as a new song.
Hi Rod, thanks for the observations, I think the last two lines could easily be left out, think I only left them in there as it was the comment going through my head at the time, not necessarily part of the song.
On a personal level, yeah not so bad, I was hoping to have joined you in retirement and be doing some serious travelling by now but the events of the last year have posptponed both those plans for another couple of years. Other than that all good. I hope the inspiration bug bites you again soon, would love to hear some new rawk.
I suspected you might. 😉 And yes, of course.
Fine, Rod! I didnt wrote chords, but I think It's C, G and F. Do you want the German lyrics, too? Could be funny! 😀
I'm here from the Morph Challenge and want to ask you in advance if you'd like to morph my song "Immerdar". https://fawm.org/songs/114013/
The problem: It has GERMAN lyrics!! But in case you like the simple melody you can use this for a new song of your own.
It's just to get Morph5 started. If you don't like it, it's all fine with me.
Hello! Or like they say at my place: Hoi!
Glad it's not just me with Zoom avoidance. I finally had to cave though, due to some classes I'm in (for fun). Hahaha!
Thanks for your comment on "I Like This House in Winter"! I'm glad you and your wife found something to relate to even though it was so specific. 😀
Hey there! Yea- when I started my new music teacher job in Reno, Fall of 2019, there was a harp in the closet. I sort of have this belief that instruments were built to be played, so I dusted it off, replaced a couple strings, and tuned it up. It turns out that my left hand is remarkably dumb at harp. In that song I give it the responsibility of playing the D string --- nothing but the D string --- in a steady beat for two and a half minutes. Lucky for me, right hand harp playing is not totally different from finger-style guitar. I totally recommend trying a harp, if you can find one. They're fun.
I like your plans for this year, and your Yeats quote!
Hi Rod! Long time, no speak. I hope you and yours are well.
Thank you for the listen and the comment. I really appreciate it. 😀
Aww, hope you are doing well too with this strange time we are living in. We so miss everyone. I'm really bad about being on Zoom and hope to make it one day to jam on there. I'm finally accepting Zoom as a thing lol.
Hi Rod! I hope all is ok... I wish you a wonderful FAWM!
Thank you for your lovely message, Rod. Always a pleasure to see you around each year. 😊 Perhaps we'll team up again at some point. 😉
Hi there, friend! Thanks for stopping by. I plan on doing this year 2021 and hope you do too. 😀
Hey! Checking in. Good luck with FAWM 2021!
Hi Rod. Make more songs now please thank you. 😀
Just noticed, we share some influences. Happy 2021!
Wonderful to see you here! 😊
That low-key plan sounds like a winner. A no-stress zone. I’m in!
Hi Rod, glad to be back on the hawse. Come what may.
Hey Rod! I nearly left you a message a week ago, but then I remembered a conversation you had with a certain fawmer many years ago about not wanting to feel obligated to comment on anyone's songs--and I thought, "Well, I don't want Rod to feel like I'm fishing for listens or anything like that." Clearly I think too much. Glad to see you here, unleashed in your retirement
Hi Rod! Let's do this!
Yo, Rod! 😀
Yoop! Hope you're back!
Happy FAWMing Rod!!
I'm so excited to see what you post this FAWM!
Hi, Rod! Hope you have a fantastic FAWM 2021 and that you are well! 🎵
