Artist Bio

Influences:   Donald Fagen, Stevie Wonder, Beatles, Miles Davis, '60s and '70s rock.

Jazz, Rock and Pop background. I play keyboards, bass guitar and some bamboo flute. My last gig was as an arranger and pianist for a big band. This may explain why my songs sound like video games or band-in-a-box. That and I use GarageBand.

Aww... thanks ... yeah someone jumped on it quirky, but if you have something and send me a link or MP3 I can add it to the song on the site with you as a collaborator and then it will also pop up on yours. Liz

Thanks, @dock ! It was fun to collaborate with @richaaaay on The Twelve Bar Blues. Come on by for a beer, you know I won’t be at a bar.

  • @nathansurles  Feb 25

Thanks for your comment on my ambient guitar track! 😀

  • @sunfire Feb 25

Thank you so much for commenting on Darker Than The Night. You've expressed my exact thoughts in your response to my lyric. If you're interested in putting music to it, I welcome it and would love to hear what you come up with.

  • @pippa  Feb 25

Hi Dock, the web address you gave me doesn't seem to want to work. You can write me at pletsky@socket.net

Oh that’s great news, it’s so refreshing to pick up forgotten instruments and see how they influence playing music. I think it was Tom awaits who said his hands were like trained dogs on the piano, so he had to switch up instruments to keep the songwriting fresh, or something like that...

  • @chrisshepard Feb 24

Yes, my cat drools...and yes, the chord progression on Home is purposefully reminiscent. 😀 Thanks for your comments!! Looking forward to listening to you.

  • @jorh  Feb 23

Haha Damn you found me out 😂

  • @mrtylerlarson  Feb 23

Hey Dock! Thx for listening and commenting on "Drain"! 😀

  • @farmyardorchestra Feb 23

Hello, Dock! Thanks for appreciating my cereals! I don't know where the cellos come from. They grow wild in our fields. Mixed in with the cereals. 😀

  • @sunnymae  Feb 23

Heehee...the Queen of Clubs will stop at nothing!! 😀

  • @hummingbear  Feb 23

Thanks for the feedback on Bears' Nutrition Guide.

  • @hummingbear  Feb 22

Thanks for your comment on Fret Stew. Yup, it's intoxicating like some bad fairy tale potion.

  • @wrenarcher  Feb 22

Hi Dock. Thanks for taking the time to listen to my song “The Melting Snow” and for the kind words you left. I listened to a few of your songs and I can definitely hear the Donald Fagen/Steely Dan influence (i luvvvvv Steely Dan’s music). So your compliment on my song means that much more.

And I probably should have put this in the liner note but I feel obligated to say the brush work and kick on the jazz kit were not my doing. At least it wasn’t entirely. I found an app that helped me out with that. But because I was meandering a little with the time on my guitar work I had to start and stop the drum app manually as I was recording it with my guitar track. I can also manually trigger a fill as it’s playing live with my recorded guitar track. That’s how the fills and other things going on with the drums were so well placed.

    Thanks again!

  • @sunnymae  Feb 18

Thanks Dock for taking a listen to my collab with @jors He gave me a nice set of lyrics to work from. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • @riffraff1990 Feb 16

Oh no 😂😂 sorry about your piano disapproving cat. Riff loves music. It usually lulls him to sleep. Thanks for stopping by 🙂🙏

  • @rshakesp  Feb 14

hi, yes that's exactly what I am doing - create the overarching story arc with the song titles and then methodically work through them - diving into a detail of that arc for each song - like cherry picking the arias out of an opera and leaving the recitative to the imagination of the listener. Its been a surprisingly effective method - and I'm flying through the songs - I'll be able to do a few random collabs at the end of the month at this pace.

Thank you for your comment on Til the End of Time. Very hastily put together. There is a Doo Wop chord progression underneath.

  • @mmmmarcus Feb 14

Thanks for the comment on my ambient track!

  • @matthijs Feb 14

Thanks for your feedback on "waiting for summer". I agree that the "tearing at the seams" line is super cliché, but i honestly couldn't think of anything else haha. The close doors line means not letting people in, not giving them a look inside your mind. It actually fits within that part because you also keep your door close to prevent the cold from getting in, but i can see that it is a bit far fetched. I just thought it was clever. When it comes to the genre, i was thinking about indie-folk

  • @colgoo Feb 12

Thanks for visiting my song! 😀 It's been an awfully slow start for me this year.

  • @arthurrossi Feb 7

Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving such a lovely comment! I appreciate it a lot...

  • @candle  Feb 7

It's just a catch phrase of sorts. I always feel like posting things without some sort of signature makes the post/comment disingenuous. "See You In The Shadows" is just my way of making the post feel complete. I'm Candle and Candles light up the darkess - but still leave plenty of shadows. So, I'll see you in the shadows sort of expresses that symbolic idea. Thanks for asking & welcome to FAWM!

    See You In The Shadows…
