Artist Bio

Influences:   Usually I'd cite folk singer songwriters (Sandy Denny, Roy Harper, Nick Drake) as my influences, but as I have been listening to a lot of jazz (Ella and old time trad jazz) and motown lately I'd like to try and write something that swings or is a bit funky! Who knows what will happen! I haven't played much or written any songs for a while so I'm really excited about February!

I did FAWM in 2017 and wrote 13 songs, loved it but have not been able to participate again until now. I play several instruments to one degree or another but have not layered them up much before. I have invested in a couple of mic stands and am looking forward to the challenges and skirmishes.

Hey Didi! Thanks so much for telling me that you had my song in your head while doing housework! Best comment ever!! Funnily enough I was thinking about that song earlier and thinking I should revisit it... So this is confirmation!! Thanks for listening to my songs!

Hi Didi, thank you so much for your kind comments. I was using fl studio and my tiny keyboard (25 small notes) πŸ˜€ The sound you were reffering to was from fl studio flute.

  • @ttg105  Feb 16

Didi, I posted the song at the link below. It's downloadable. I was thinking that you could sing it with me, and add parts (repeating a phrase I sang, etc.). The lyrics are at the link. Let's exchange e-mails so we can do this more easily. Thanks!

You are very welcome. I loved hearing your song and your beautiful singing and playing. If you are interested maybe we could collaborate? I currently have a co-written song which would be awesome to hear with your vocals. I'm also up for any other ideas if you are happy to collaborate. No pressure of course. Please see what works for you.

Thanks for stopping by! My favorite music in the world is 70s Britfolk, particularly Nick Drake (#1), Richard and Linda Thompson, Sandy, Fairport and lots more. Would you be up for a collaboration? I have the music all recorded ... just needs vocals. If you prefer, I can do a vocal track, and you can sing it with me. Song is a bit twee, but nice. Let me know!

Thank you for sharing your marmite tale - made me laugh out loud for some time!... just cos it looks like nutella, doesn't mean it's nutella!

Thanks for your comment on "Guitar Trouble"! I will look out for your first song ...

  • @timfatchen  Feb 11

Thank you for the lovely comment on Taking the Wrong Road. Now...recorderist? Pick one up and improvise> Anything to get a track up. It's what I do, when all else fails, improvise. Oh, and as pianist +guitar, there's always 12bar blues but then you have to think up words...

I'm pleased to see someone curious about doing "song seeds." Maybe the idea will take root and spread? πŸ˜€

I hope you have a satisfying and productive FAWM this year.

Aww, you're very welcome. Thank you for sharing your story with me. I took a certification class in Pennsylvania on the Oracle and have a ritual I do prior to FAWM. There's a reason each person gets a specific card. The cards never lie. Looking forward to what you do with your chosen card πŸ’–
