Artist Bio

Influences:   Folk is my favorite genre followed by celtic and good old rock & roll.

I'm the one on the right. My daughter and fellow FAWMer Dawn is to the left. I love it here. I've loved learning new instruments and meeting new people...and of course letting my muse have fun creating. My main 'instrument' is my voice, but I also play guitar, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, dulcimer, autoharp, steel drum, piano, flute, and a very robust cowbell.

A note on comments: I do not intend to make my living with my music, but do want to get better, so gentle constructive comments are very welcome. If there is a certain song I'm thinking I may want to do in public I will ask for serious critique on that song and hope you'll let me have it πŸ˜€

I'll probably roll the story cubes a few times, and whack a cowbell. Maybe play with a quote or a bit of scripture. I may do more lyric-only this year. My number one "job" is caregiver for my hubby who is reaching the middle stage of Alzheimer's. Recording takes more time than I may have. We'll see!

Pronouns: her/she
Nicknames because of FAWM: Princess of the Cowbell or just Princess, and Mistress Darci - from one rather suggestive collaboration in 2014.

Happy FAWMing everyone!

Had to look it up since I've seen others marking the years:
FAWM 2011 - 14
FAWM 2012 - 16 (with three collabs)
FAWM 2013 - 16 (with five collabs)
FAWM 2014 - 13 (with one collab)
FAWM 2015 - 19 (with seven collabs)
FAWM 2016 - 18 (with five collabs...including the epic FAWM is Down)
FAWM 2017 - 16 (with one collab)
FAWM 2018 - 17 (with one collab)
FAWM 2019 - 14 (with three collabs including Open Mic at Castle Dragondreams, and one with a shed which was a challenge not a collab)

Thank you for your comment on "Gas Attack"!

BTW - Is your husband also a musician? Google "Fifth Dementia" regarding music therapy. It has given me some hope for the future as a daughter and grandaughter of alzheimer's patients.

  • @mikeb Mar 10

Thanks for the comment on my ;First Class' lyric - yes, the 'NSFW' was the surprise at the end!

That’s so funny. I own a flea. I should have known πŸ˜†πŸ˜† I also own a tenor fluke stringed with baritone tuning. It is my main ukulele. Good stuff πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

Thanks for the comment on She shed, and that's exactly the inspiration for that, the commercial...I love that commercial

  • @cnidaria  Feb 26

Thanks for listening. Both of us were also math majors, which was the whole thing that started the #mathcollab idea.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 26

Your lyric inspired my lyric today

  • @castledragondreams Feb 25

Hi Princess. I've remixed the Castle Party a little to help bring the dialogue a little more to the centre and aid clarity. πŸ˜€

  • @dragondreams  Feb 24

Glad you enjoyed it, and weren't too scandalised! πŸ˜‰
I'll try to script it out for you, but headphones might help (if you get chance). 😊

  • @dragondreams  Feb 23

    Got them both, Princess! πŸ˜€

  • @dragondreams  Feb 23

Mistress Darci. Jeffrey is pleading with me to ask you to send him some of your delightfully surreal cowbell virtuosity for his master's crazy Castle party! πŸ˜‰ <3

  • @sbs2018 Feb 11

Thanks for the comment. You’re going to love GB! I don’t know why it took me so long to give it a try - and then I had to try Logic Pro, Ableton Luve and Pro Tools. I was hooked on production.

  • @hummingbear Feb 7

It's been a snowy February so far, but the month is still young! I'm glad someone is able to stay with your husband so you can make your appointment, maybe that can be a snowy day plan? Having your outlet is good too - many more days of FAWM left. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  • @chipwithrow  Feb 5

I can't wait to hear your lovely voice again! My thoughts, prayers, and intentions for you, your husband, and your family.

  • @writeandwrong  Jan 2019

@darcistrutt , what can I say, dear Mistress! What will February bring this year from us? Who knows? Spin the wheel and where it lands is where we'll be...but knowing us, we'll keep spinning off the page!
