Folk-ish singer/songwriter from Ohio. Lover of bad weather, difficult books, and rotund cats. My earliest influences include musical theatre, Crystal Gale, Bobby McFerrin, The Blues Brothers, and Alvin & the Chipmunks singing the greatest hits of The Beatles. Somewhere along the way I discovered the great chick rockers of the 90s and old-time folk music.

Completed my first FAWM in 2018, right around the time I started experiencing some health issues affecting my throat and voice. I wrote a little during 50/90 of that year, but quit early as it became increasingly harder to sing. Managed to post one song last year, but have not been making music lately as I continue to struggle with my illness.

On good days I can sing very quietly into a microphone, so you may hear a bit from me this year, TBD.

Looking forward to hearing what everyone else has in store and hope to stay active as a listener and supporter, regardless of my own output. Happy FAWMing!

Ah well, it's dead easy when the music is so enjoyable 😀 Thanks for your comments too, hope you had a fun FAWM!

Thank you for all the wonderful comments! I appreciate you taking the time to listen to such a broad selection of my stuff. As you noticed, I just have a lot of fun creating during FAWM!

  • @metalfoot  Feb 29

You have made some amazing music this year. Thanks again for the collaboration!

  • @pipewrench67  Feb 25

I Really like your voice, sorry to see the mention of related health issues. What you have done sounds really strong vocally, good on you for not giving up. Hope things take a turn for the better for you.

  • @danvaillancourt  Feb 25

So glad you are back again Leah. Songs are sounding great, voice sounding beautiful. Sorry about your continued illness and I hope you continue to feel better as the days pass.

  • @sheslin Feb 22

Thank you so much for your comments on You'll Never Make It Without Me! I loved your take on the treatment I gave the lyrics and I so appreciate your positive and very encouraging comments.

  • @drewhottmann  Feb 18

Tried reaching out via Instagram as I couldn’t get your email link to work....try mine?

  • @sheslin Feb 18

Thanks so much for the feedback on Baby I'm Through - really appreciate it!!

  • @ceilidh  Feb 17

Wow! Thank you SO much for the amazing feedback! I was hoping the Five Element song would help me keep track of which element went with what color/emotion/body part, so it WAS kind of a teaching song for me. I'd never written a round before, so glad you enjoyed By Candlelight. Sorry you also lost access to a beautiful waterfall like Oneonta -- hope it's just temporary! I'm hoping other bird enthusiasts will enjoy the Chapman Swifts. Thanks again for your comments!

  • @drewhottmann  Feb 14

Thank you for your feedback and encouragement!

  • @leah0k  Feb 12

Thank you for your input! I will probably wind up leaving it slow and ‘heartbreaking’ as you aptly put it!

  • @brandondale72  Feb 11

Should’ve read your bio before I commented. Sounds as if things haven’t improved that much. Let me know if I can help in any new forms of writing. We could collaborate on lyrics or something that’s easy? Anyway, your continued support to the FAWM community is beautifully thoughtful. Good to have you around.

  • @brandondale72  Feb 11

For some reason you weren’t on my watchlist! Excited to explore your new music. Thanks for your visit checking out my new stuff. Glad to see you back to making music again!

  • @ayehahmur  Feb 10

You said you're in central Ohio? I am too. I am so impressed by the one song you posted so far. Would love to connect after FAWM if you're interested. 😀

  • @audrey  Feb 5

Thank you for your kind thoughts on my song Caring Neighbours.

  • @dutch1967 Feb 5

Hey Leah, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. The way it goes the ones with the most time on their hands are usually the same ones that can’t organise (organisise) their day to save their life.
Thanks for your sweet comment on my song. Glad you like it.

  • @djevans53 Feb 5

Thanks for your comments. So nice to see you back, always enjoy your music.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 5

I guess that I should have read the comments beforehand, but I don’t. Well, you got lots of wow on that first one. 😀

  • @s7even  Feb 4

  • @hummingbear  Jan 2020

I'm glad you're here, despite your health problems. There are lots of different ways to create and to participate - sometimes we are forced to find new paths. Wishing you the best.

  • @tawny249  Jan 2020

Hello! I feel like you share a lot of influences with my friend @readerwriterpoet, so just a heads up. 😁 Happy Fawming, fellow Ohioan!

  • @guatecoop  Jan 2020

Oh my goodness I remember your songs and your voice! That must be so hard. I hope that fawm is a success for you and that you have many good days. Best wishes to you!

  • @standup  Jan 2020

I definitely enjoyed yout music -- what I heard in the past. Hope you can do something this year. Music is in your brain, not your larynx. Good luck, try some stuff out.

  • @metalfoot  Jan 2020

Hey-- glad to see you back here. Hoping your voice continues to come back (because you have a great voice)!
