Vocals can be tricky but generally when I mix them in I’ll cut out low frequencies that aren’t needed, and focus on the bits that can be heard. I’ll also give it a little compression to help. Not sure if that helps at all lol. (I also tend to use excessive reverb and delay lol)

Well, I tried hard to morph your song for chain 6 but your music is so totally awesome making it really impossible for me, a lyricist and very untrained and unpolished musician to follow. "Fight for you" wird definitiv fertig gestellt. Ich habe die Besetzung zusammen, aber es kann noch ein paar Wochen / Monate dauern, bis die finale Version kommt. Dieses Frage-Antwort-Spiel nutze ich recht selten als Songwriting-Technik, aber ich finde langsam auch Gefallen daran. In welchem Song hast ud es verwendet?
Was "All Hallow's Eve" betrifft hast du definitiv Recht, dass das vom Gruftie-Techno inspiriert wurde! Ich vermisse solche Musik total. Die Elektroszene spaltet sich grade in das Synthwave-Vapourwave-80er und Festival-EDM-Slap-House Lager auf. Der gute alte 00er Hardtrance und Aggrotech ist tot 😞 -

Thanks for the comments on Empty Lake, there is reverb on there but it's mostly buried, it's a one mic recording with a second guitar slapped on it. so most of the song (clean guitar and vocals are on the same track).

Yeah...I know the synthvox isn't for everyone. I started using years ago because I needed vocals and had no one in real life I could go to, found this and it was free, and it was pretty easy to use. I think its just grown on me, honestly. Like an old friend lol

@chroes No, I actually have no clue how to make or mix good drums. But I'm using MT Power Drumkit (thats free) and it sounds pretty decent out of the box.
The only other thing I know about drumming is, that drummers usually try to count the beats with their lead hand on the cymbals and I try to mimic that somehow. And always combine the guitarists Palm mute with the bass drum, that makes it sound thick. -

Werde das Backing sicher noch für nen anderen Song verwenden, momentan hört sich das für mich zu sehr nach Reinhard Mey an, der sich im Genre verlaufen hat! Und die Begrenzung auf drei Singtöne ist schon auch recht limitierend...

Thanks for the comment on the song of storms and your kind words 😀 It's like you said, with a daw you have all the possibilities for mixing and mastering right at your fingertips. You could even create a whole new sound layer on top of everything. It's not easy to restrain yourself with that. But thats the nice thing about fawm, you are kinda forced to make some restrictions for the sake of creativity.

Ja, wie du vielleicht schon gehört hast, liebe ich die musikalische Abwechslung. Deinen Kommentar zu "Yeah Yeah Yeah" und den Vergleich mit Farin Urlaub fand ich megawitzig: Kürzlich wurde mir gesagt, ich würde haargenau wie Rod Gonzales klingen! Fehlt nur noch Bela B., dann wären die Ärzte komplett! 😀 Ist eigentlich so gar nicht meine Musik, habe es nur so rausgerotzt, dabei aber gemerkt, dass es mir nen Riesenspaß gemacht hat! Wer weiß, vielleicht werde ich auf meine alten Tage noch zum Punk! 😉
