Thank you for the kind words about my piece Time to Shake Things Up. I appreciate it. I really like your music too. I wish you had more of it for me to listen to. Maybe you're like me - a slow songwriter.

I really enjoyed your rendering about Chernobyl. Here is something that I did several years ago on the same topic.

  • @highmountain Feb 10

Hi, thanks for your comment! Noticing your list of influences. Quite some experimenters there, wouldn't you say!

  • @ceilidh  Feb 9

Thank you for your feedback on Spinning Fire! I spent time fighting with the Garage Band electronic drums to try to capture the gypsy flavor, and would have liked to add some live rhythm on the accidental instrumental (I lost track of how many verses I'd done when laying down the rhythm guitar), but the GB app won't let you have more than 2 drum tracks and maxes you out a 4 tracks total...but it's there and sufficient for scratch tracks...

Thanks for your comment. In regards to your question: Yes I'm American, but I'd argue that all over the world, there are still issues with racial bias and institutionalized racism, even in the modern day. (I live in Japan and am definitely discriminated here in terms of housing, service, etc.) There is still a lot of Islamophobia and xenophobia, for instance, but we don't always experience it or notice it because it's not our everyday experience. Denmark often rates the highest in Northern Europe for implicit bias. (I know this because of some of the readings I do with my university students.) We're not talking about the type of racism where people say bad things directly. We're talking about the type of racism that is so ingrained many people don't think they're racist, but their comments, behavior, and ideas suggest otherwise (in the way they vote, who they hire, how the police treat people, etc.)

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 2

Ha! Sounds like we could do an awful duet! If you still would like to do music I could try to sing or see if I could entice someone else to!

  • @aeye Feb 2

Thanks! and it indeed is outside of our known solar system šŸ˜€. Can't wait to finish up the rest of it so we can share it

  • @pokerowan  Feb 2

Thank you for such kind words on 'Opposite of Saints'!

  • @radioovermoscow Feb 2

You know the Buchla? I have the emulated one, and it doesn't get used much 'cause it's too unpredictable. But if I need a weird sound, it's one of my go-tos.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 2

Would love a collaboration! Iā€™m thinking you can sing better than I do!

  • @cindyrella  Feb 2

Thanks and yes, I usually just write lyrics (I might try a small song on my ukulele this year) And, I am always looking for collaborators! If you see one you like, let me know.
