Influences: First one I remember...Sly and the Family Stone Since then, in no particular order...David Byrne, Prokofiev, Adrian Belew, Devo, Todd Rundgren, Keith Jarrett, Carlos Santana, Bjork, Jaco Pastorius, The Clash, David Holsinger, Thelonious Monk, Ravel, George Clinton, Jean-Luc Ponty, Miles Davis, Bill Chase, Portishead, Chick Corea, Mitch Murder, Com Truise, Ulrich Schnauss, Tycho, Steve Reich Those are probably the most significant and the most obvious in my music.
2020 is going to be a supreme challenge. The day gig currently has me involved in three projects and I am traveling each week to two of those work sites. I have music gear I carry with me, but I am often working nights as well as days for these particular projects. We will have to see how this plays out. At this point, I am planning on posting 60-90 seconds sketches that I will finish at a later date.
Last year, I started doing some synthwave. You can expect some more of that along with my usual pop driven ambient soundscapes, but I am also feeling rather cyberpunk-ish this year.
The icon on my profile is part of my new branding. Check out the full logo:
Michael Michalski, a.k.a. Chasing Andromeda here. I write...um....well, I am never quite sure what is going to come out of my head. If I hear it, I write it. It usually has synths in it and it often has quite a few layers to it. But it might not have either.
Enjoy and have a great February!

Thank you for your kind words on A Is For Analog!
The drums are either something that i just played myself using Akai MPD218 and XLN Audio's XO or then a set of drum loops from Output's Arcade loop synthesizer.
A lot to work with there!
Hey thanks for the comment on Miss You! That synth is actually a Moog Matriarch, it's my new Frank's Hot Sauce, put it on everything 😉
Thanks for the comment on Prismatic. I'm useless at genres and genre names, probably because I don't anymore spend much time listening outside my own head (other than FAWM and 5090, that is!) Spread too thin!
Your new logo is sooo synthwave 😀 all you’re missing is a Lamborghini! It is awesome; well done!
And always glad to have you around; my day gig is crazy busy at the moment too... nerds unite!
Hello, good to see you're on board again
Eyup, Mr Andromeda sir! 😊😎
Good to see you again, hope you are able to find enough time for FAWMing! Happy FAWM!
Welcome back! Loving that new logo
Great to see you back, Michael. Looking forward to hearing whatever you get done in the cracks. (At some point we'll have to start running a fundraiser to reduce your February workload, for FAWM's sake.)
Jar of formaldehyde 😂 Fantastic. What better place for us to all rot and wither than right here in FAWM 😁 Have a GREAT ONE!
Elder statesman! Good to see you back, kind sir!
Have a great FAWM! I always look forward to your songs.
See You In The Shadows…
Hi Michael. Can’t wait for some tasty bits from you.
And just what beauteous soundscapes will you be creating this year? I can't wait to found out!
I enjoyed your music from last year. Have a great 2020!
Time to update those goals my friend, welcome to FAWM 2020!
hey man, happy FAWMing
