Singer/ songwriter/ student studying to become a music teacher. (she/her)
It is my GOLDEN FAWM (which is what I'm calling 14 FAWMs of 14 songs. Has it really been 14 years?? Good lord). I’m still in music school, and I’m also teaching ukulele again, so music is basically all I do. I must say, I’m looking forward to creating it, and not just studying or teaching it. Those muscles are due for a stretch.

I don’t have any intentions for FAWM 2021. It’s been such a year, and for the first time in 7 years I won’t have the Holiday Music Motel assist that usually adds 5 or 6 songs to the tally from the Love on Holiday festival. So I’m going to utilize the 2020 lesson of just taking things as they come.
In any case, I’m glad to be back, and I can't wait to hear everyone again! xoxo

Thx for the comments....you are probably the last to comment on my SOUNDBOARD for this year
Stay safe and see / hear you in 2022
Totally cool with your schedule!
Good luck with your finals, my friend. Knock 'em dead! 😀
Carly, yes it’s our Yamaha console piano with the ‘soft pedal’ felt on for the duration.
Here’s a ridiculously easy way to use some EQ on your digital piano recorded parts to achieve
The same effect. Use a low pass filter on it where you make the cutoff around 2kHz or so. Play around with the cutoff frequency to your ear’s liking. If that sounds to extreme to your ear use a shelving EQ on the upper end and play with the knee frequency and amount of attenuation for the shelving aspect of it. I do that all of the time in my DAW with the sampled Steinway I use a lot. It basically helps to mimic the response of an acoustic space where the high frequencies will get absorbed much more than mids and lows when it gets to your ear. My recording was direct to my iPhone and this piano can overwhelm my vocal so it was somewhat of a mixing choice. But also because the song was about night time I didn’t want to have it too bright. Give that DAW trick a try, you will be pleased I think.
That sparkling water really does taste as if somebody yelled at a tangerine.
Hope you had a great FAWM! I will try to catch up on some of your music soon.
Serge is da man, that's for sure. Email me if you think I might be able to help a little. see my profile notes.
Thanks so much for listening and commenting on Marco? and The Avenue. Your kind words were heartwarming. I somehow came across your work pretty early and put you on my Watchlist. When you would post a new song I was always excited to hear what it was and it was always a treat...I'm a fan.
Hi Carley, I've already listened to and commented on lots of your songs. I've really enjoyed them all. Thoughtful lyrics, incredible vocals and tons of musicality. All that said, I'm gonna ask for a tit4tat...Maybe you would be willing to listen to Marco?, which is a collaboration with @lizbrinker. And if you are game to listen to more just let me know and I'll work through what I have yet to listen to of yours...All of which I'm sure I would thoroughly enjoy...
Thanks, my friend. I gotta sleep now, finally, been up for hours, including, nearly 50 tit4tats, but you can keep going and I'll catch up tomorrow, promise, or you can wait for one at a time, your choice, but be sure I'm trading all 7 with you, guaranteed! 😀
Hope you got some time, it's 19 minutes ( it does change up (sloooowly)).
Thanks for the inspiration Carley.
If you ever get a chance to check out my stuff feedback would be appreciated. Good or "constructive".
Hope to see you in the wonderful world of cheese this summer. Maybe we can do a bike ride!?
Thanks for the kind words & congrats on finishing FAWM!
I need to catch up on your songs!!! I hope the site allows me to now relax and hear all of these good songs!
Awesome! I just sent you an email with the details! Thank you so much!
Hi, there! This might be a long shot, but... we're doing a 4-person video collab (https://fawm.org/forums/topic/10929/#c235201) and one person had to drop out because their computer died. The song is beautiful and after listening to your Middle of the Road I think you'd be perfect to add some vocals and lyrics to it. Let me know if you'd be up for it! 😀
You are accomplished. Good voice, great instrumentation. Tight lyrics It's going to take light-years to catch up!
Just wanted to say thanks for the kind words in that collab thread in the forums. That helped 😀
Okeedokee! I'll send something over ASAP. Might be a couple days, my next day off is Wednesday.
Hey CB, could you possibly sing a backup vocal track on a song of mine if I sent you a WAV file? I should have one ready in the next couple days. Keep me posted, thanks.
hey! how did you post your 10 sec clip? id like to do the same. plz let me know. thk uuuuuu
re corpse collab 😀
hey sorry for the delay in getting back to you... post on my soundboard plzzzzz... thx!
Your choice. Email is fine. Soundboard is fine.
Here's the 10s for you to build off of for the Acoustic LoFi corpse. Try to write the next minute or so of the song, send the minute to me, and the final 10s only to the next person in the chain... and have fun! Chords I was using were E and G, if that helps. 😀
Carleyyyy! Great to see you back. And relieved to hear I'm not the only one who'll be "taking things as they come" in terms of what I accomplish this month, haha 😉
Thank you for sharing the images that came to mind while listening! We need more comments like that, especially for instrumentals.
Golden FAWM? Wow - that's something to aspire to - only 5 more years for me to go to be able to brag about that! #bucketlist
Its' good that you say your songwriting muscles are due for a stretch n workout. Me too - 2020 was my least productive songwriting year for FAWM and 5090.
So sharpen those pencils, line up them notepads and have fun this February creating something out of nothing 😀
Happy Fawming, Carley! (from down here in Bend)
