Artist Bio

Influences:   Think Dolores O'Riordan meets Brandi Carlile, with a healthy dose of ethereality.

Caitlin Sigler (she/her) is heavily influenced by her coming of age in the 90's; she wears her heart on her sleeve like Tori Amos, has a unique yodel that rivals that of Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries, and an ethereal vocal quality reminiscent of Natalie Merchant of 10,000 Maniacs. She gets further musical inspiration from grassroots activists like Ani DiFranco, Regina Spektor, and Brandi Carlile, to use her music as a vehicle for healing and support of marginalized groups, women, people of color, refugees, and those affected by addiction. The humanity in her lyrics is as ordinarily relatable as it is extraordinarily remarkable.

Hi Caitlin! I've loved reading all of your comments on my songs, and I have a few more coming before the months' end. Thank you so much for listening, it means so much to me! My artist moniker is Sunflower Summit, and you can find more of my music (produced and polished), on Spotify, Apple etc. Let me know if I can stream your music anywhere <3

Thanks for listening to my song Itโ€™s all Relatives . I still donโ€™t know if I am a great grandmother, but I sent the new baby a quilt. Families are confusing. I have a cousin who was 20 years older than his uncle.

  • @nadine Feb 25

Thanks for your information! Yes, please send me a link via e-mail, I'm looking forward to it! Shure SM58 is a solid microphone for singing on stage. I've recorded with it a few times, but you'll spot the difference in comparison to a condensor mic. It has more bass and mid-bass frequencies. Let see if I get that EQ'ed and what your room / reverb situation does.

  • @nadine Feb 25

Hey Caitlyn, thanks for your comment and offer on "Angel in Jeans". I think your voice type and range could fit. I'm happy you enjoy my song!

How do you record and in which quality? I noticed some muffle and noise but I don't know if that's due to the microphone, room or mix. It's best if you can send me a dry (without effects) full quality uncompressed (wav file) vocal only recording of one of your songs via e-mail. Not as attachment, upload it onto a one filehoster, Dropbox or stuff. Maybe explain how you recorded. I can give you so feedback on that and check if that's sufficient for me.

The reason for doing this is quite technical: I won't be able to correct pitch of there's noise or reverb. EQing will also very important in that dense arrangement. Thats where singer-songwriter and pop-studio-productions differ.

  • @gb9  Feb 19

Thank you Caitlin for the sweet comment. I have not much musical knowledge, I'm only a songwriter.
When I write, I have no tunes or melodies in mind only the emotion; which is why my work is generally descriptive...

  • @hakk  Feb 19

Hi! Thanks for the nice comment on February 2nd. Fun fact. In the 1960's I lived in the Dubois-Punxsutawney area thus the reason for doing a groundhog day song every year. Never properly visited Philly though, except twice through a window on Amtrak (FL to NY), and once driving I-95 from DC to MA.
