Artist Bio

Influences:   Dave Matthews Band, John Mayor, Jamie Cullum, SRV, Eric Clapton, and Jason Mraz.

This is year 2 for me with FAWM. I had such a blast last year and have been looking forward to this for a while.
I starting singing and playing instruments in my sophomore year of High-school and fell in love. I've been a singer-songwriter ever since. I had my own band called "BuB" and we played the local music scene for a few years. Life happens and we all grew up so now its more of the solo thing. Love music and love collaborating so hit me up if you have an idea!

    Hey man,
Thanks for your kind comments on my song "Or Pray."

Will we see you at the FAWM over?
    I haven't heard when or where. 😀

Thanks for the listen and comment on 'Inspire'. Doing such a fast collaboration is a change for me!

  • @s7even  Feb 13

Awesome. Take your time. No hurry.

  • @cindyrella  Feb 13

Got to thinking about a story my Dad told, and wrote this, in case you're interested. Mickey Jones was such fun!

  • @s7even  Feb 13

Hey Brandon! I just posted a song “that’s why I pray” check it out and see if it might be a good fit.

  • @cindyrella  Feb 13

Those three guys (Matthews, Mraz, and Mayer) are some of the best possible musical influences! Don't think you sound like any one in particular, so that's good! It takes some development as an artist to boil down the characteristics you love in the artists you love into your own personal mix. I think I'm there, I'm happy to say. Not sure when it happened though. 😀

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 10

Ooh. Totally get where you were coming from on "Smile" with a Jason Mraz vibe. That'd be cool to hear!

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 10

Just to be clear, I don't mean/want to devalue your work at all by pointing out similarities. I did have to do that with one artist this FAWM who made something really beautiful that was excessively influenced by an extremely famous song that would have triggered a copyright strike, but that's not the case here. Personally, I make it a practice of recognizing the presence of my influences in anything I write. It helps me to know if that influence is "showing" too much (a few years back I had to rewrite my verses to one song because of it). It also keeps me keenly aware of the fact that everything I read, listen to, watch, and think about shapes my musical palette. That's a precious thing to be guarded. Had two songs this FAWM already that had sections clearly influenced by James Bay. Oddly enough, I listened to him a lot for a short stint but probably haven't done so in 6 months to a year. I decided the songs were far enough from the influence to be legitimately "influenced" and not ju

@s7even shoot! All good. We will find something.

I Already gave “smile” to someone else. I’m really hoping we get to do something together though.

  • @s7even  Feb 4

Hey Brandon! Thanks for the compliments on “Never looking back” I’m definitely interested in collaborating again. Keep an eye out.

  • @sbs2018 Feb 4

Thanks for your praise for “On the Brink.” You’re right - there are so many directions to take this.

Welcome to FAWM19. That's some nice stuff on soundcloud, especially enjoyed "I Talk to God." I write lyrics 'cause I'm not a musician. Hope you have a productive month here!
