The ghost of 19

North Central VIC AU   Jan 2012

Artist Bio

Influences:   "Even in a minute: so full of shapes is fancy That it alone is high fantastical." - William Shakespeare. "Mojo is what you pick up, funk is what you leave behind" - Blind Kiwi

Born, laughed, cried, worked, played, not yet died!

Instruments, pretty much just acoustic guitar and the occasional harmonica. Vocals meh! Getting braver with demos though.

This has been my first full FAWM after a number of years off due to many factors. Loving reconnecting with folk after a long break tempered with a deep sadness for past collaborators no longer with us.

All my lyrics are up for a collab if any of them grab you, just include me in the writing credits and all good.

Personal pronouns: As long as they are respectful, then I am happy with anything.

Hello. I finally did a demo for 'I heard the news today.' Hope you like it.

  • @vivalarayna 1 week

Yes, I've heard about the events over there, but no, "Blame the Accused" was not specifically based on them, though it certainly applies! Yes, it takes guts to call it out and the backlash is always awful. Awful. No two ways about it. Glad you liked it and thanks for the support!

  • @daveyboy103  1 week

  • @daveyboy103  1 week

    Irreverence definitely.

Your lyrics accurately reflect my own cynical views of all things evangelical, political and otherwise.

Simple and quick but I think quite effective.

  • @daveyboy103  2 weeks

Thanks, the words worked out really well. It is funny how some lyrics just inspire you when you see them and has been pointed out the way they build is original and clever. A very interesting collaboration.

Remember. PLAY AT MAX VOLUME 👻

Thanks for stopping by! Indeed, "What Is With The" has very strong get-off-my-lawn vibes. 🤣 I loved rewriting "Battle of Coup Orleans" and am so glad to hear you know of the original all the way over on your side of the world. I'm always surprised how many people don't know it here! Different tastes, I suppose. Anyway, I'm still hoping to crank out a demo before FAWM's end. Fingers crossed!

Re: 'Funk It' - The lyrics came first and I sent them off to Corey (@songwritingzen) to see if he liked them. Corey and I write a lot together, so I know he likes lyrics sent that way to work with, as do a lot of other co-writers. Other co-writers I work to their already prepared bed track.

Yes, on my adventures I remember seeing "a few" (thousand) of them over there. LOL. The picture was clear in my head. but competing with the more well known incarnations of the name and I'd never heard the term used for the windmill/pump. A brilliant use of the image as metaphor. Well done. And thanks again for your encouraging words. 😀

    Aww thank you!

  • @arthurrossi 4 weeks

Grazie mille! Thanks so much for your that kind and beautiful comment! I was very happy to read it! It is interesting that you started studying Italian, though it being a very lovely language, it is not the language people usually choose (apart from English and maybe Chinese, it is usually Spanish or French people choose to learn). Anyway, your Italian knowledges are awesome!

Ha, yeah, after what happened I felt the need to write about it. I still have no idea why she came at me in the way that she did. I can imagine that she's still ranting away on here Twitter page about how I'm not a real person 😀

  • @musicsongwriter  5 weeks

Hi Peter. thank you for your warm welcome. Looking forward to hearing your beautiful work.

  • @wolfkier 5 weeks

  • @petemurphy  5 weeks

    Hey! It's THE Pete Murphy!
I'm glad you've banished the self doubt. That kind of thing is par for the course with me.
I hope you have a great FAWM.

On another note, I received some abuse online several months ago, for having the audacity to use the same name as the Pete Murphy from Bauhaus. The lady threw all sorts of stuff at me, called me a 'mother f***er' and a 'troll', and was posting all kinds of stuff on twitter about me not being a real person.
I ended up writing and releasing an EP called 'The Troll', which documented the experience 😀

All the best to you and the wife!
