Artist Bio

Influences:   my bride, my cats, you, the beerlight tattoo, faeries, gnomes, dragons, bourbon

Daddy (fixer of things broken), musician, geek, curmudgeon, junkyard dog, recovering perfectionist.

I am now in my second decade of FAWM. It's a bit hard to believe that I've been doing FAWM and 50/90 both since 2009. Many years, many songs and more importantly many friends.

There is no way of knowing yet what my muse (spelled Miuz) will drop in my lap. Hopefully, it won't be boring. Happy FAWM to everyone.

Crime scene photos:

Still haven't gotten around to reworking the guitar racks. I desperately need room for more.

Pronoun: His / He / Him
Amateur noun: Bubba

Just thought I would let you know I've been struggling with listening to your stuff. I have finally diagnosed it and it appears that AdBlock was blocking the streaming of your stuff. I've solved my problem by whitelisting fawm.org but just thought I would let you know.

  • @dannyk1  Feb 19

I've got a few lyrics up and will probably have more coming. Let me know if anything strikes a chord.

  • @dannyk1  Feb 17

Bob, I had about 10 lyrics I was playing with pre-fawm and my phone got dropped in the drink. It's supposed to be fixed this week. We'll see.

  • @tamsnumber4  Feb 17

Thanks for commenting on my collab song "Who We Really Are", I appreciate it!

  • @timfatchen  Feb 15

Back briefly from FAWMless purgatory and able to lsiten a bit. Daffodils worked really well!

  • @mattoxic  Feb 15

Thanks for the comments on Robot hands, and I deeply appreciate your guitar wall.

  • @dannyk1  Feb 15

Hey Bob, i'll be late to the party if I make it at all.

  • @dragondreams  Feb 14

    Thanks, Bob! 😊
I'll see whether I can remember how I did the switching and draw it out for you. Basically, the top switch selects the P90, P90 plus humbuckers, just humbuckers. Bottom switch selects middle 'bucker, both 'buckers, just bridge 'bucker. Volume pot is also a push/pull switch for coil splitting both 'buckers (I decided against adding another switched pot to coil split the pups individually - there already more tone options than I ever use).
The control with the dragon inset is the boost control. It's a four position switch to boost the gain in steps.

  • @arkka  Feb 13

    Thanks for the comment!

  • @dragondreams  Feb 13

BD pics added on the song page.

  • @dragondreams  Feb 13

And, as an aside... I'm currently, right this very minute, building my own take on a scrapyard dog. A friend found a Strat-style body in a skip, and I have a spare Tele-style neck here... πŸ˜‰
    Pics to follow...

  • @dragondreams  Feb 13

Black Diamond can play way rougher than anything else on the wall here. πŸ˜‰ But she's well tempered - just backed by huge muscle. I built a pre-amp into her that provides up to 25dB of gain if I need it. Enough to drive most amps into meltdown. But she definitely lacks Frankie's pure Voodoo.
I don't include Frankie as a custom build. She's more "heavily modified" rather than "built from scratch". πŸ˜‰

  • @sph  Feb 13

Being interested in guitars I followed your comment to @dragondreams song to read his possible reaction. Yes, I'm guilty. But that picture of a "Viking style flaming longboat floating down a canal" is ace and lets my imagination run wild! As we say in germany: Kopfkino at it's best!

  • @dragondreams  Feb 12

You are so kind, Bob! Thank you.

I've got the day off tomorrow so I'll dig the camera out and snap the Black Diamond.

And Frankie will be with me 'til the end. I'm picturing a Viking style flaming longboat, Frankie laid at my feet as we're cast off down the local canal. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚

  • @dasbinky  Feb 12

  • @timfatchen  Feb 4

I've deleted the placeholder. Post the song direct Bob, me as collab. In a mess and about to travel (again) here.

  • @dragondreams  Feb 4

Thank you so much for your time and fabulously supportive comments, Bob! And I'm so glad you like the flute on "Unwilling wizard". It's a piece of PVC waste pipe I turned into a DIY shakuhachi. πŸ˜‚
Just guzzling my first coffee of the day, then I'll be back to get you to entertain me! 😎

  • @timfatchen  Feb 1

THansk for the prism comment Bob. I'll have a couple of beds for you but probably about 10 days down the track, okay? (up north working)

Noice work space, as long as the flying monkeys don't knock things off the walls.

  • @valeriecox  Jan 30

Yeah, tick tock! I like your studio. Looks like I'm gonna need a couple more guitars to catch up with you. 😝

  • @dasbinky  Jan 29

Always happy to be a... source of inspiration? That can't be right... πŸ˜‰

May your FAWM be fruitful and rife with Fenders!

  • @timfatchen  Jan 27

I'm not a guitarist and I have to park more guitars than I have keyboards...I'll do some beds for you and we'll see what we can chill. THIS time! Before we fall off the stool...

  • @andygetch  Jan 26

    Hey Bob, happy FL FAWM'ing!

  • @headfirstonly  Jan 26

Great to hear from you Bob - I'm sure your muse will be dropping plenty of inspiration in your lap. How could she not, looking at all those lovely guitars?

  • @chasingandromeda  Jan 26

Likewise, my friend. I always love what you bring to the event. One of these days we will finish one together. My work schedule is probably not conducive to it this time around but maybe 50/90 will be kinder.

  • @tamsnumber4  Jan 26

So happy to hear from you!! Can't wait to hear what you create!!!

  • @barbara  Jan 26

Accomplice? As long as it doesn’t violate my parole, I’m in! πŸ˜‰
Good to see you pawing at the starting line, B!

  • @dragondreams  Jan 26

Bob! It makes my heart glad to see you here this year! πŸ˜€
We'll have to have a proper catch-up soon. It sounds like you've been through the mill a little,my friend.

Let's kick back and make some noise. πŸ˜€

  • @cts  Jan 26

My friend! So good to hear from you!!
