Artist Bio

Influences:   pop, indie, classic, 90's

Wow, if I'm looking at that right, this would be my tenth year. Though I didn't participate every year. Going to try and produce something this year, being my tenth year and all.
I have a new setup, switched to Mac in the studio and running Logic Pro X. But I've yet to produce a full song on it. We'll see how it goes.

Thank you for the kind words on my pieces Don't Get Caught and A Special Moment. Much appreciated.

  • @klaus  Mar 4

Hi bitshred. Thanks for all the kind comments, especially on "I'm an Artist". That was really nice.
    Congratulations on your Win! 😀

  • @rayboneor  Mar 4

Thanks to you for the listens and the encouragement. A collab would be awesome, but I will file that in the que sera sera file. I'm the easiest person to collab with, or the hardest. On all my best collaborations I just throw out some ideas and half-assed demos and say, Do something cool! And then I try to do something cool with what I get back. That makes me easy to work with, I think. I guess I would be hard to work with if you couldn't accept my technical limitations. Once again, I vow, as I have for years, that I will practice and learn something prior to the next FAWM. Que sera sera! Thanks again!!

    Hey Bitshred
Im glad you liked my Collab with @crisp1 so many discoveries to be made and so much great music on this forum. I've never met you either so here I am! Post FAWM is when so many of us finally get around to listening to and exploring new music. Looking forward to hearing yours and making a new friend for next year!

  • @crisp1  Mar 3

    That would be great!

  • @tamsnumber4  Mar 3

Thanks for listening to our collab song "Kiss Me AGain", appreciate it!

  • @crisp1  Mar 2

You've made a lot of really nice comments about collabs I wrote the lyrics for and I just want to say thanks! Congratulations on winning!

  • @sheslin Mar 2

Hey again - so thanks for the listen and feedback on Life Comes In Waves. Your thoughtful comments make me look back at my song to figure out what I did - and I just did not worry about rhyming and just worked on imagery. The melody just kinda came after the lyrics were done - very fast - and I recorded it playing my Taylor 314ce with steel strings and using my H1N Zoom recorder pretty late at night so it might sound a bit different. What a great idea to put harmonies to this song - I will work on that - thanks!! Thank you again for your music, which I have greatly enjoyed and have learned from, and for your insightful and thoughtful comments!!

  • @sheslin Mar 2

Hey thanks for your lovely comments! So I appreciate you listening to Hung Up On The Thorns - I loved that collab and it did not get many comments which makes me feel like I did not serve the lyrics well! So normal tuning - BUT I tune my guitar down a whole step which gives me more options vocally. Thanks again for the lovely feedback!

  • @johnstaples  Feb 27

Thanks for listening to Shining Light! As for the "abrupt stop" it should go for about 2:45 and then stop naturally. The FAWM player is so broken these days!

  • @rayboneor  Feb 23

    Totally made up!

Be sure to watch for Chad's (or is it Jeremy's) extended close-up around 1:10

  • @sheslin Feb 22

I am glad you liked my song You'll Never Make It Without Me and really appreciate you taking the time to let me know 😁!

  • @sheslin Feb 22

I am glad you liked my song You'll Never Make It Without Me and really appreciate you taking the time to let me know 😁!

  • @metalfoot  Feb 21

10x10 is where you write 10 mini songs (each approx. 10 seconds long) and package them into a unit. Thanks for listening!

  • @sbs2018 Feb 17

Thanks for your comments on the "Dancing..." and "Lo Fi" songs. Yes, I do use loops with some drum programming and piano and/or synth playing, trying to transition to more programming with fewer loops.

  • @tamsnumber4  Feb 17

Thanks for listening to my song "Insecure"!

  • @judypie  Feb 17

Hehehe just a *little* blasphemous 😬 Thank you for your listenzzz!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 17

Thanks for the comment - yes recorded as a live one take picked up by a room mic and recorded into GB and converted to MP3 in iPhone voice app. So very low fidelity!

  • @tamsnumber4  Feb 17

Thanks for commenting on my collab song "Who We Really Are", I appreciate it!

  • @panch  Feb 15

Thanks very much for the comments on Cabaret of the Nameless.

  • @standup  Feb 14

Thanks for the comment! Yes, everything is loud, I just started using isotope ozone, and have not worked things out yet!

  • @victoriavox  Feb 14

thank you 😉 and you caught the move to major on the chorus! yayaay!

  • @erelpi10  Feb 13

Great - I'll send you my idea by the weekend. I haven't recorded it yet. And send me your idea too!

  • @judypie  Feb 12

Hahahah please god, tell me you played it with earphones and not out loud?!

  • @erelpi10  Feb 12

I have a song I’m working on that could use music. Still very much in process, but I’m wondering if you could take a listen and see if inspiration strikes ⚡️

  • @tsunamidaily  Feb 11

thanks for commenting on scratch n dent life.
    keep rocking and having fun!

  • @rayboneor  Feb 10

You clearly know too much! 😀Every time I stumble onto something, it’s like I invented the wheel or something.

  • @rayboneor  Feb 10

Gosh thinks for the nice words. Me as a lyricist? LOL. I mostly sing cryptic songs about FAWM and the process of trying to make music when one never practices or knows what one is doing. I've never put my ass on the line, but one of these days I will try for real...

  • @gslade Feb 9

Re: Proud of My Sin - Thanks man. I'm actually surprised at the feedback. It's one of those songs I struggled through.

  • @erelpi10  Feb 8

Thanks for checking out my work. I’ve been moving more in a rock direction but my music online is older and folkier. Never could do country because I’m a Yankee and don’t have the right accent lol

  • @kovbleu  Feb 8

Thanks for listening to "Teardrops" and leaving me a comment. It's a Peavey Cirrus BXP. <3 (That's me in the left).

  • @sbs2018 Feb 8

Loved your comment on “Waiting Impatiently.” Lol! I don’t belong in those clubs anymore either but I love the music so I have to try and figure it all out by streaming.

  • @kingwoodkowboy  Feb 8

Bitshred, thanks for reviewing "Rose Blooming By The Sea".

  • @sync  Feb 7

Oh. Ha ha! That was supposed to be a superchamp X_D, not 😁!

  • @sync  Feb 7

Thanks for asking about my guitar tones! The rhythm is a telecaster and the lead, a strat, both thru a fender super champ 😁, but the lead one preset dirtier. I think I used 6 and 7. I used the strat for the lead cuz it was getting better harmonics. I always record mic and line and dink with the ratio between the two until I get a tone I like. On the lead, I also selected the entire line track and moved it out of phase until I get a separation and tone I like.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 7

    Thanks for listening and commenting

  • @sync  Feb 2020

Ahh... Had to reread the lyrics. Very witty. I'm a bit chagrined that I didn't catch that. 😁

  • @phoenixash Feb 2020

    Thanks for your comment

  • @gwyn1234  Feb 2020

Thanks for your comments...not my usual style but I can't believe what's happening at the moment and I needed a means of expressing that...

  • @elesimo  Feb 2020

Thanks for you comment on "The Light at the End of the Tunnel"! It was a fun jam, but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to track everyone separately like we did in the previous year. But it's FAWM, so it's ok. 😀

  • @crisp1  Feb 2020

Thanks for your comments on I Never Really Left. Sometimes I feel like if it takes me longer than 20 minutes to come up with the basics of a lyric, it's probably not going to work. The fast ones feel like destiny.

  • @erelpi10  Feb 2020

Great — keep me posted and I’ll do the same

  • @emkaydeebee  Feb 2020

Hey @bitshred - yes a real harp! This it here:

  • @erelpi10  Feb 2020

I like your music. Maybe we could collaborate on a song

  • @sbs2018 Feb 2020

PS - You asked about the outro effects - First, I tried OVOX but wasn’t happy with what I got so I just used the transform feature in Logic.

  • @bootlegger Feb 2020

Hey thanks for the comment on Sunday drives! In case you're curious my fawm home page bio has all the info on this year's project!

  • @feralrabbit Feb 2020

Thanks for your comment! Haha yeah for whatever reason I ended up making a couple references that just came out in writing that one. Hence the plums.

  • @sbs2018 Feb 2020

Thanks so much for your thoughtful feedback on “Deja Vu” - I agree!

  • @emkaydeebee  Feb 2020

Hey @bitshred, thanks for commenting on my ‘Night Feeding’... chuffed you liked it!

  • @juoppis  Feb 2020

Thanks for your comment! It's Positive Grid's Bias FX 2. Sounds pretty sweet 🙂

  • @carleybaer  Jan 2020

Hi! Happy FAWM!! I'm also running Logic Pro, and I've only finished a couple songs on it so far. Nothing like a little trial by fire, right? 😀 Let me know how it goes for you!

  • @gslade Jan 2020
