Player of acoustic guitar here to dabble with songwriting and have fun. I write novels but haven't done much with music... yet.

Hi. Re WHAT BREAKS A HUNWN HEART(?), thanks for feedback. I'll try another verse/chorus! Yes, I'll be here next year all being well. Could try earlier though - my email is mjc.friends@yahoo.co.uk if you feel inspired.
๐ I have to own up to having posted some songs that have been written over the last few months. Re TRUMPET, a trumpet would be apt for someone who has no shame about blowing theirs!
Congrats on crushing the 14 this year! ๐
Hi again. THE HARBOUR OF YOUR LOVE - glad you love this one. It's short with just an ending chorus so maybe another verse and a repeat of the chorus? Not sure. Maybe best left simple and brief
Thanks for your feedback re TRUMPET. Glad the clichรฉs weren't too clichรฉd. No music yet, not sure how music will fit. Any thoughts?
Love Isaiah 12. - โI will trust and not be afraid.โ Like the song too.
I find older gospel song and spirituals a source for the blues.
Thanks for your kind words! Happy you liked 'itsmagical' And congrats on finishing your FAWM, With a week to spare even. Well done!
I have a rough draft of Isaiah 12 together but I'm not happy with one transition so I'll revisit it yet before sending it over to you.

Do you want to collaborate on a song? ๐
Thanks for your kind comments on โA Card Under the Bed.โ Iโve added the needs-music tag so maybe someone will want to play around with it.
I am enjoying FAWM so far. I feel like thereโs less pressure to have something good because Iโm just trying to get the 14. Seems to be a very encouraging environment.
I also usually start lyrics first. For me the lyrics will often suggest a feel to the music structurally or suggest what instruments I should use. I record through a USB mic (Blue Yeti) into a program called Audacity and do any necessary editing and overdubs that way.
So how do you record your songs? Just curious, as we all have our own methods!
Thank you so much for the comment ๐
You can hear my horrible twang on Number 99 on the Top 40 Chart lol. I tease because my twang is so bad. My Canadian accent will not let go.
Have you ever heard of Slugs and Bugs? My kids love it.
I just don't want to come across as overbearing is all. ๐
I hope you don't mind me commenting on all your stuff. ๐
Hello @bethyrose ! Thank you for welcoming me, and happy FAWMing ๐
Hi and welcome! Very cool that you write. I (and others here) have dabbled in NaNoWriMo too. However, I seemed to be having more fun writing the soundtrack for my story than writing the story itself. So now in Novemnber I am a NaNo rebel who uses that challenge to write more songs.
Welcome back!!! ๐
