Artist Bio

Influences:   Anything that touches me in whatever way.

Bassplayer for as long as I can remember.
And in february I suddenly play some guitar and keys and sing as well (well at least Iโ€™m trying to) and write 14 songs.

Update: 14th of February
Slowest start ever, total lack of motivation in the first two weeks of Fawm. There is a reason for it but I'm not going to bother you with that now.
These last few days some of my inspiration came back, well it was mostly hard work to be honest and just sticking to it. But here we go, from now on I will be posting some songs. Standard complaints are..."I wish I could sing higher" or in fact
"I wish I could sing period" .
And why oh why don't I play some guitar and keyboards during the rest of the year so I wouldn't suck at it this much in February?
Anyway, here we go and still trying to get to fourteen.

Hey Alboe, thanks so much for listening to Light of Night (Y Noson Deffro), so pleased you like it! I really wanted to bring the whole Welsh Male-Voice-Choir feel to the chorus, (albeit with my female voice!) - so Iโ€™m chuffed you liked all the harmonies!

  • @dock  Mar 3

Hey Alboe, thanks for listening and the great comments. I found a lot of your music delightful as well. I do have a soft spot for Jobim. I agree his music needs Portuguese to sound right, but I'm not the one to try to sing in that language.

  • @sherrycanary  Mar 3

    Hi Alboe
Thank you for kind comments on my song. So appreciated.
So glad I was able to participate, though limited

  • @leka Mar 2

Thanks for listening & commenting. That guitar sure has a nice sound.

  • @jonmeta  Mar 2

Congratulations on making the number 14 happen without sacrificing quality. And thank you for being so encouraging about my music.

  • @klaus Mar 1

Thanks for commenting on my placeholder. The demo is up now. I'm afraid I re-recorded everything today, so they aren't really as rough as my original song memos. ๐Ÿ˜€

I hope you keep your demos available cos I might listen to them this month.

  • @saxylizbeth Mar 1

Thank you for listening and commenting on Flowers... I can't wait to check out your FAWM songs - completed in half the time! That's some going ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @jonmeta  Mar 1

Ah ha! I hadn't even twigged to the 42 takes - HGTTG connection. Puts it in a totally new light!

  • @thesoundof Feb 27

Thank you so much for your comment!

  • @bandybum Feb 26

"This is so weird because this definitely sounds like how XTC might sound if they would have taken the EDM route.
This is a fantastic song and the production is super.
    What an excellent collab.
And XTC is one of the best bands that ever existed in my book"

    - Thank you! You just made my day ๐Ÿ˜€

And Congratulations on reaching 12 songs after a slow start.
    That's dedication!

  • @klaus Feb 26

Thanks for your observant comment on Down. I'm not really good at EDM but @bandybum is, lucky for me. XTC sure was a rare bunch of musicianship and creativity and solid songwriting.

  • @daveyboy103  Feb 26

Sure, after FAWM would be great.

  • @emkaydeebee  Feb 25

Hey, thanks so much for your comment on Ajax 409, that means such a lot. It was such a lot of fun to do, and I agree, the result seems really unique!

  • @mariekevinkmusic  Feb 25

    Hallo! Bedankt voor het luisteren.

  • @jonmeta  Feb 24

I didn't use a vocoder on Off Switch, but you have a good ear! Because I couldn't get the close harmonies to sound how I wanted (I'm not Take 6) so I fiddled with pitch correction until they gelled.

  • @sph  Feb 23

Thank you for your comments. Concerning the Karn mention: I copied one of his tricks: play the fretless bassline twice and pan it hard left and right: instant Mick Karn ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • @daveyboy103  Feb 22

Love your stuff. Are you up for a collab, Maybe add a vocals to one of my songs? be nice to hear a different take.

If you are busy that's cool but i guess a collab adds towards to your 14 songs anyway ๐Ÿ˜€

I can't do Happy yet would be perfect for your laid back voice.

  • @daveyboy103  Feb 22

Thank you so much for your kind words on Sink in

  • @alg123  Feb 19

Hey! Thanks for listening to and commenting on my songs. Re you question on clawhammer - yes, it's different than three or two finger style. The strings are struck by the back of the nail rather than plucked. A bit odd to wrap the head around at first, but then it's quite lovely and fun, and lots of sounds to be made!

  • @fearlessflight2014  Feb 17

Everything except the vocal was from Band In A Box BUT it was all heavily edited and even pitch corrected in places.

  • @yarimurray  Feb 17

Sorry . . . The BG voices were another song and another FAWMer comment. It must be time for bed!!!!!!!

  • @yarimurray  Feb 17

Thanks for listening and commenting on Heroes May Fall. The BG voices were actually a synth patch that worked really well. Looking forwar5d to listening to more of your stuff.

  • @modmiranda  Feb 15

Donโ€™t worry a bit about your singing. You have a voice I want to listen to. Leo Kottke used to say the same thing, even though he already possessed a deep, lovely, declarative voice all his own. Much like yours! ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • @aesthetic72  Feb 15

Gosh, thanks for the really kind comments on my two tracks! On MMOWH, it was really Rob's instrumental that laid down the red carpet. I just walked on it a while. I'll give your stuff a listen listen now, too.

  • @johnstaples  Feb 15

Thanks for your nice comment on Stone Cold Turkey! I play most of the instruments. Those I don't play, such as drums and bass, I either get a friend to add that part or I use a VSTi if I can find one that sounds real enough! I have recently purchased EZ Keys and I am so blown away with how nice their piano sounds and riff libraries are I may never play piano again! I love playing but sometimes I just want to get a song out, especially in FAWM, so I will use whatever helps me complete the song with as big a production as I need!

  • @pcob1993  Feb 10

Hey Alboe, hoe gaat't makker?? I can't get started because my Mom died last week from the fucking virus. Knocked me sideways.....
but I hope to get some stuff done.
I hope you're safe and well

  • @guatecoop  Feb 8

Hey there. I donโ€™t see it....maybe I did something or I guess it could be in spam. I will look some more, but you might as well just resend it if that isnโ€™t too much trouble. Thanks!

  • @klaus Feb 4

Hi Alboe. Thank you for the kind comment on When the Universe Asks. I agree about melancholy and tongue in cheek. They always just are there. I'll be back to listen to your songs later.

  • @lowhum Feb 3

Thanks for the comment. Looking forward to hearing your stuff!

  • @oddbod  Feb 2

Hey thanks listening and your comment. Have a great FAWM

  • @jonmeta  Feb 1

Starting February completely blank... yeah, that's me too. I wonder: Where did those songs from past years come from? But we carry on because inspiration might be kind again. I do hope you are doing well and I look forward to whatever comes.

  • @gm7  Feb 1

    Ooops sorry about that.. lol..
If the guitar sounds good then that's the main thing.

  • @gm7  Feb 1

    Nice Martin..i just love them.

  • @klaus Jan 30

Hi Alboe. Nice to see you again, my favorite Dutch bassist/singer-songwriter. Hope to hear your smooth baritone vocals next week and your bass going bum-budi-bum. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @jonmeta  Jan 29

Hi! I hope you're back for a few creations, or a lot if inspiration is kind. I'm looking forward to hearing everything you do.

  • @jamkar  Jan 25

    Sent email.

  • @guatecoop  Jan 25

I guess that I prefer having a plan. It would be different if it werenโ€™t on video. I am also assuming that I will be starting off things with drums? Iโ€™m fine if not, but it kind of makes sense. Let me know what you think

  • @jamkar  Jan 21

Greetings friend! I play keys, guitar and sing vocals. Looking forward to my very first video collab!

  • @guatecoop  Jan 20

Hey there! Just checking in to say hello and also get us talking about our plans for the video collab. @roddy , @jamkar, @alboe, and @guatecoop are our team. I play drums, guitar, bass, and keyboards, so I donโ€™t really care where I fit into the plan. Let me know what you think. Best wishes to you!
