Thanks for the comment on Wide Wall. Much appreciated.
I never heard of Anders Trentemรธller, so I checked him out on you tube and listened to Come Undone. It was quite good, although I would like to see the occasional face shot of hand on the right side, he seems to be doing all the work.

    Thanks again

  • @dreamscuba  Mar 7

Thank you for your comment on "My Black Beauty"...much appreciated...I got the Gretsch by accident but I love it...haha.

  • @wsharper69 Mar 6

Thanks for the comments on Liar, Liar. It is open for collaboration anytime you want to.

  • @musicsongwriter Mar 5

Thank you so much for your kind comment on In Memory of You. I was composing it in a very sad mode but I believe instrumental music is open to different interpretations and perceptions and I'm very grateful for your vision of this piece.

  • @barbara  Mar 5

Thanks for checking out 'High Altitude Blues'. It definitely needs a little structural tweaking. I appreciate your suggestion!

  • @standup  Mar 5

Thanks for commenting on a bunch of my tunes, I know you're stealing time here and there between other obligations.

  • @jwhanberry  Mar 4

  • @iank Mar 3

Thanks so much for your comments on Rules Of The Game - its actually made the whole thing worthwhile not only to put a song together and record it all in a short period of time, but to know that it has struck a chord with someone else in some way. The meaning of the whole exercise has suddenly been elevated sky high! I came late to this FAWM and have been too busy to participate since putting the song up but I will continue to listen and draw inspiration from all the incredible work here and hopefully be more prepared for next February! Thanks again.

  • @jmadison  Mar 2

Thanks for listening to Go Free. I really want to work on the mix, but your comments are helpful in thinking of how I want to do it. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @klaus  Feb 28

Hi Eric. Thanks for the comments. I'm a bit late with replies. This was one of those kinds of Fawms for me. Nice to hear your music again. Cool stuff. I really dig those drums. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @aneil Feb 28

Thx for your comment on Cricket! The worl cup is in June 50 overs may be to Long if it doesn't grip you try the IPL 20 over stuff! With 4 boys its a religion in my house . many think its boring but my kids can't get enough.
Check out my Album if you have time:

  • @dragondreams  Feb 27

    Damn! I've missed these!
Will be listening avidly when I get home!

  • @markg  Feb 24

Thanks for you kind comments, they're always thoughtful and often make me chuckle. "Look away, look away, look away" yeah it might have been used in an old song.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 22

I think what youโ€™ve done is really good and I can emphasize about the time. I put the mic about 2/3 in on the right and angle it in towards the beater. It cuts out a lot of eq work. Not so boomy but some punch. Now, I certainly havenโ€™t had time for proper mixing, but Iโ€™ve had to just go with it. We have to pick our battles when it comes to FAWM and parenthood.

  • @jwhanberry  Feb 17

  • @donna  Feb 17

Thank you for your comment on 'Lead Me Away'. Much appreciated.

  • @phoenixash Feb 16

Thanks for your comment in King Of Cups. He's perfect for the role, that's why I chose him for this tarot card hahaha. I love Dune, looking forward AND scared for the new movie.

  • @franniezest Feb 15

thanks so much for the comment on All systems down! i just uploaded a VERY rough audio sample for it. i'm not very good at getting to the F chord in time still. but like you said i really would like the chorus to be more yelling than the way i currently sing it. i want to play around with my voice and see if there's anything i can do to it to make it sound more harsh.

  • @balancelost  Feb 15

Hey man, thanks for listening. It's good to step back from it all sometimes. Then after that you can dive in to the nitty-gritty again. Good luck this month.(and all months, obviously)

  • @writeandwrong  Feb 15

Thanks for your comments! I appreciate it! I reworded Faith a bit because what you said made sense. Hope you have been writing this month. Looking forward to hearing what you have been up to!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @zecoop  Feb 15

Thanks for finding the silver lining of Yacht, lol. I don't hate it, but it just didn't resonate with me. I did like how the cajon worked on it, though, and shakers are always awesome. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @markg  Feb 2019

Thanks for listening and commenting on Best Thing to Happen. Hope to hear your next one soon

  • @standup  Feb 2019

Do you think you'll make it to FAWMstock again this summer? Patti and I are pretty sure we can do it. And Nancy Rost is coming too!

  • @scottlake  Feb 2019

Thanks for checking out some of my lyrics only at present songs. No songs from you?

  • @benjo  Feb 2019

    Hey thank you so much
    for you fantastic feedback
on my lyric, bring the dark down
I agree with you guys on the two lines, I think it will work that way
    great advice, thanks again
    enjoy the rest of fawm

  • @rickamorphis  Feb 2019

Haha, I loved your comment on my rel'ship is pretty 'lived-in' too...I'm definitely channeling the past, trying to write about the beginnings of things. I think it's easier to write about endings; it must be because I have way too many of those! Thanks again, you're always an insightful listener...and hope you feel better!

  • @writeandwrong  Feb 2019

Thanks for your kind comments! Appreciate your time! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @sync  Feb 2019

Hey man, thanks for giving my song a listen! Hope we get to hear one of your awesome layered guitar tunes soon...

  • @s7even  Feb 2019

Thank you for your kind words on โ€œHow Long Have You Been Lonely?โ€ much appreciated.

  • @xfloorpunchx Feb 2019

Merci for your kind words on my song! Hope to see you in this year!

  • @cts  Feb 2019

Hey man...I thought I'd stop by to see how you're feeling. I hope your recording area doesn't remain too dark for too much longer!

  • @devin  Feb 2019

The inspiration for โ€œDumb F Nationโ€ is my genius nephew. At 17, heโ€™s figured out how to never finish grade 10, upgrade his job from McDonalds to a dollar store, and become a father.

Plus dozens of redneck friends who donโ€™t believe in climate change, and voted in Doug Ford as our Premier. Quite the shit show up here ๐Ÿ˜

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 2019

Thank you so much for listening to Chicken Beef or Fish! It was fun to write and Alex did a great job with the music.

  • @dasbinky  Feb 2019

Thanks for the comment on Silently Screaming! Inspiration there was musical (White Stripes) rather than lyrical. (Lyrical is just a shitty situation.) Interestingly, no Octaver on the guitar... it's all wave modulation. (And I doubled the guitar part down an octave. Tricky. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Looking forward to hearing your stuff, rock on!

  • @ferry0123 Feb 2019

Hey, thanks Eric. That's a big compliment!

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 2019

Hi Eric, thank you so much for your kind comment and support.
Looking forward to hearing your songs.
    Have a great February.

  • @dragondreams  Feb 2019

Sorry about the creepy crawlies, but glad you liked what you heard. ๐Ÿ˜‰
To be honest, I'm nervous about the badass riff thing - I wish they'd let me use the bass! ๐Ÿ˜

  • @metalfoot  Feb 2019

Thanks for the comments on Maybe! I'm not entirely happy with the vocal (my voice cracks in a couple spots) and I think it could use a light swing beat with some piano and/or bass added to the guitar. But it is a nice tune, I think.

  • @jamkar  Feb 2019

Thanks Eric! Paul is a beast on all things guitar!

  • @guatecoop  Feb 2019

Hey, thanks for the comments. I always appreciate how you are constructive and insightful. Whatโ€™s happening in your world? Having a second child is not harder for most things, but for FAWM I think that it is. You?

  • @billysea  Feb 2019

Hi Eric, thanks for your comment on my song. Looking forward to hearing something new from you. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @valeriecox  Feb 2019

Hi there. Thanks for the comment. Songs from you? I hope so.

  • @dragondreams  Feb 2019

    Hey Eric. ๐Ÿ˜€
Not a pipe organ, but a sound font I made years ago from an old Eko transistor organ. Probably the most unstable instrument I ever owned. Every single note had its own oscillator and each one was pitch controlled with a cheap skeleton potentiometer. If you breathed heavy near it, it drifted out of tune. I got sick of it in the end.
This time round I've been programming my synths on the piano roll in Reaper. I tend to use the guitar controller when I want a more human feel. Pads and organ on these opening tracks didn't really need it. And the synth controller is a lot of faff to dig out and plug in! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • @wobbiewobbit  Feb 2019

    thank you ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @guatecoop  Feb 2019

Thanks, man. I appreciate the listen! I think that I need to mix the middle acoustics better and widen them out. I tried something different by faking a 12 string using the Nashville tuning on one acoustic. That sounds thin or buried to me. You? Thank you!

  • @jamkar  Feb 2019

Thank you Eric! Anxiously awaiting your next song.

  • @writeandwrong  Feb 2019

Can't wait to hear your song about coffee, and if the moment should you you, Fireball haha!! ๐Ÿ˜ Thanks for your kind comments on "Left of Us."

  • @wolfkier Feb 2019

    Your turn. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @wolfkier Feb 2019

    Happy FAWM19. Hugs. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @nuj4x Jan 2019

  • @pfoo  Jan 2019

    Hey! Happy FAWMing ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @max  Jan 2019

  • @devin  Jan 2019

โ€œBattle of However Manyโ€ is a faire enough title for such a bard as thee.

May your quest turn new foes met into allies, and may your purse be so enriched!

  • @devin  Jan 2019

    This is a true story.

Once upon a time, two brave knights decided to venture forth and each vowed to slay a 100 song FAWM.

They were very enthusiastic, up until the point they realized they haven't prepared nearly enough.

Then they both got destroyed by the 28 Day Dragon.

Do you know that story? Something tells me we are both going to get a personal reading in that one.

  • @cts  Jan 2019

Man - Killionland is nothing but fire in my headphones!

  • @jamkar  Jan 2019

Hey Eric! Happy FAWM! Would love to collab again.

  • @standup  Jan 2019

Hey there, glad youโ€™re around! Collab? If you find yourself in DC, let us know?

  • @writeandwrong  Jan 2019

Sure!! Go for it! ๐Ÿ˜€ Haha! Hope you are coming to FAWMStock again this year!

  • @cts  Jan 2019

Yep - was just getting ready to ask you about that! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @cts  Jan 2019

Oh - you took me there, did ya? Alright, I'm all about it!

  • @dragondreams  Jan 2019

    Coffee? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • @tcelliott  Jan 2019

    Yo. Let's do this.

  • @writeandwrong  Jan 2019

Hey, there, hey, there! Looking forward to hearing whatcha do this year!

  • @the3queens  Jan 2019

    welcome, welcome!

  • @ferry0123 Jan 2019

Looking forward to hearing your tasty instrumentals, Eric. (or maybe you'll also do vocals?)

  • @markg  Jan 2019

Hi Eric. Nice to hear from you--I have you on my watchlist for your latest. Best wishes for FAWM 2019

  • @guatecoop  Jan 2019

Oh man, you are talking NEW baby! Congratulations! I can see how that would be questionable to fully engage in FAWM in your circumstance.

  • @guatecoop  Jan 2019

Wow! Career change? Thatโ€™s crazy. How new is your newest child? I have one who was born in May so I get the energy thing. Iโ€™ve been gauging my energy level at 8pm each night and it seems like I will be struggling during FAWM, but it always seems to work in the end.

  • @klaus  Jan 2019

Oh, Eric. You made my day, or my night as it's way over midnight here in Helsinki. I've been praying for somebody to bust my last placeholder demo and at the same time fearing the reset. Dude, man, bro, thanks a lot, the lotter and the lottest. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @klaus  Jan 2019

Hi Mr. Tester. So nice of you to bust my placeholder Zong Chakra Shimmy. It was a big relief! I did four placeholders in a hurry after Eric Distad told the reset is this weekend. But now everything is fine. Thanks to you! ๐Ÿ˜€

Maybe do a collab this year. Write down the tempos, if you can. It helps the editing a lot. See ya.

  • @guatecoop  Jan 2019

Hey there! Nice to see you back on the forums! How has your year been? How are the kids?
