Artist Bio

2021 - Hopefully doing stuff, mainly guitars. I'll break out the drums if I feel inspired.

02/11/2021 - A commonly heard excuse, I know, but this is getting tough for me to find time to do! I don't really feel like going without sleep, but I also don't feel like lowering my personal standards for what I want to write/record, which so far I haven't been living up to... I feel like commenting on songs provides me with some peace of mind though, so I will continue to do that at least.

If you want to cover Let Youself Out I’ll send you the chart if you like. I’d love to hear your take on it!

Here's a funny video of the epic guitar battle in Crossroads, thought you might enjoy it

  • @guatecoop  Mar 1

Oh yeah, you’d be all over Quicksand. I love the first one. Corridor is really cool, too, but in a totally different way. Totally love their last two.

  • @daveyboy103  Mar 1

The versions' of "Where's the gravy" are quite different but both bring something of their own to the party.

Thanks for your very constructive comment.

  • @aneil Feb 28

    Keep up the awesome Jam!

  • @guatecoop  Feb 26

Holy smokes, what a great sound!! That must’ve been great. I figured you knew all about the DC scene since you mentioned Inner Ear a year or two ago in a comment. 🤘

  • @guatecoop  Feb 25

Yeah, that’s the part I cut and I think it allowed for a getting to know you time before I introduced more layers. The part I cut also never appeared again, so that was confusing too. I think the biggest thing was a couple of mixing tweaks and different master buss treatment, which helped to give it more cohesion. Crazy how a few decisions in the mixing changes a song so dramatically. I appreciate your feedback for sure. You’ve got a good ear

  • @jamkar  Feb 24

Thanks Eric! I highly recommend doing video collab if you get the chance.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 24

I’ve made a couple of changes to that song and with no additions it sounds much better. I took out the 2nd guitar at the beginning and mixed/mastered better and somehow it came together. If you don’t mind, let me know if I’m just drinking the koolaid or if it did make a difference. Thanks for listening and I hope that we will meet again!

  • @guatecoop  Feb 24

Hey, it was really nice to meet you kind of in person. Also, thanks for the comment. I have already gone back in to cut the first part of the second guitar, as it just confuses rather than adds. I need to do something to transition better, as the first half is too abrupt. The second is better, but I can probably make that better too. Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it.

  • @swampjaw  Feb 19

Yeah, Amirkhanian is a little nutty -- I can see the fear of beat poetry, but his stuff is more spoken word sound-canvas stuff. The rhythmic part is what gets me; probably hit me with the weirdness at exactly the right time when I was growing up.

  • @the3queens  Feb 17

It is EXACTLY like that! I have a ripped disc, a couple herniated and 5 compressed. Sleeping, finding a comfortable position is the worst! And sometimes I have what can only be described as a spinal tap headache. Some nights are worse then others. And it has improved over the course of the year but not enough.

  • @aneil Feb 16

Hi friend, thx for your comment on Rip Current. Through this year I have been constantly on the lookout for exits not to be overwhelmed. One good one was finishing my version of our collab strange one! Can I send you a Copy. keep Jamming Neil.

  • @jamkar  Feb 15

    Thank you!

  • @dragondreams  Feb 15

    Thank you. 😀

  • @musicsongwriter  Feb 9

Looking forward to hearing your songs.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 8

Thanks man, I appreciate it. About the amps, it just doesn’t feel right without my go to amps. They are my friends. I know what they do. It’s just discomfort. I appreciate the comment. I look forward to hearing more from you!

  • @wolfkier Feb 4

Came to hear a second song... looking, looking, looking (checks watch)... looking...

  • @wolfkier Feb 2

Thanks for the kind words. Came looking for yummies. The audience is hungry, bring out something soon or they'll become revolting LOL.

  • @arthurrossi Feb 1

Hey! Nice to see you here again... I wish you a great February! 😀

  • @the3queens  Feb 1

Thanks Eric! I have recuperated best I can and hopefully no more broken bones or concussions! Happy Fawming! Hopefully we can have another FAWMstock soon.

  • @musicsongwriter  Jan 31

  • @swampjaw  Jan 29

No worries! Hope to see you next week!

  • @guatecoop  Jan 29

Last year, your comment about Inner Ear really made an impression on me....not that I deserved it, but I appreciated it. The quality does matter to me, as it obviously does to you....Your sounds on your songs are so thick and dense!

  • @guatecoop  Jan 29

Right! But I WANT to use this month to try new things and improve what I do! But, I am anxious about trying something new. Ugh. I just don’t want to put anything out that I don’t feel okay about. I also don’t want the technology to get in the way. I feel your pain. I’m there too

  • @guatecoop  Jan 29

Haha. I get that. I just want things to work! Reaper is cool to record with, but really it is all about having the technology stuff staying out of the way. So if you are good with the extra step of putting stems into reaper....good! I’m a little nervous about changing my routine too.

  • @guatecoop  Jan 29

Yeah, I get why you don’t use an interface. Though, you probably wouldn’t need too many inputs unless you do drums. I’ve used reaper for at least 5 years and it is really easy to record with. I’m switching to Harrison Mixbus this year (I think I can I think I can) so we will see how that goes. I might bail on it and just do some. Anyway, if you need reaper help, I can do that. Your sounds are really good though, so I doubt you need anything

  • @toms  Jan 27

    Yo

  • @rayboneor  Jan 27

Morrissey is great, so 2020 must have been awesome!

  • @guatecoop  Jan 27

I would have loved to meet you in, ur, person....Let me know if you are going to do this another time, or I can also set up one. Come to think of it, this could be a really great way to come up with collab ideas!!!! oh, the modern Covid times....
