Joining forces for the powers of awesome.
Honestly though we just like making cool music that we hope people enjoy.

We have been posting previous year's FAWM albums on our bandcamp page for free download. ( We also will have some of them available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music etc.

The Explorers have been an on going series of adventures for us. For those just joining in, or those who have been here from the beginning, here's "the story so far":

The Explorers 1-3
A group of 4 Explorers set off across the world to find adventure. Stumbling on the activities of an evil organization, they shut them down for good. During their final showdown the only means of escape was to a new world, Sibir.

The Explorers 4-?
Crash landing on the planet Sibir, they trek to the nearby town of Magnloia. The towns people have been under attack by a terrorist group known as the Domo Veri who are after a strange totem deep within the mines. The Explorers help fend off the attack, successfully seal the mine, and are recuited by the Special Cases Branch of Sibir's police force in Gabrielsburg. They proceed to get familiar with the area around Gabrielsburg, only to be called back, for something has awakened......

Your feedback is so greatly appreciated! I'm a huge fan of what you two are putting out there! I can't wait to finish the journey, and then go back and listen to the other albums. If you ever want some female vocals during FAWM, I will be here! Congrats on your win this year!

    Hatcooooore! 😁

Thank you so very much for your comment on "Gravity Shifted", especially mentioning the vocals. I'm still in the process of figuring out how vocal mastering works, and it's very good to know I'm heading in the right direction.

Thanks for your kind comments on Pyromancer. If you like this kind of metal you should check the German and Swiss metal scene e.g. Eluveitie, Feuerschwanz, Schandmaul, In Extremo and stuff.

Thanks for your feedback on Driftwood, much appreciated.

Zebra, Dark Zebra, and Hive the most.
I haven't spent much time with Massive X and been trying to do more with it.

  • @nateger 7 weeks

I appreciate the kind words! I'm glad you checked out my tunes and enjoyed the kazoo 😊

  • @heliosonorous 7 weeks

Spectrasonics and U-HE are the ones used the most. I do use a few random others. The next track I will post, Callisto, is only Massive and Massive X. I wanted to write something just using those 2 as I don't use them often.

So here are my guitar Stems to "Chip Me":

    Tempo: 180
I left one measure before the start (as the guitars don't start the 1st beat). The Rhythm Guitars are double-tracked and panned hard left/right. I recommend only panning 50% each side, that sounds more natural, but for the stems it's better to be able to put them in different tracks (while only having one audio file).
The Ambient guitar is aligned with the Rhythm guitar (and played using an E-Bow, if anyone is curious) and the Clean Guitar is self explanatory πŸ˜‰

    Have fun!

To anyone else reading this: Feel free to use those stems too, please collab me, so I can hear your versions πŸ˜€

  • @frankyfire 8 weeks

Thanks for your Comment on my version of "Chip Me" too πŸ˜‰
If you like the guitars, you can have the stems and do your own mix. Or if you want to collab, I'd be ready to play you some guitar πŸ˜€

Thank you for your comment on "Descent / Chip Me"! I like to blend metal with chiptune so much, it's so much fun!

  • @kissinginpublic  Feb 13

Thanks! The very first sound is one of the most untouched patches from Logic. A lot of the other stuff is either taking patches or creating new things and trying to get them quite percussive. I’m really interested recently in making my percussive elements out of synth sounds other than trad drums. FAWM is a great time to play with new ideas I find... Kind of forces me to. Thanks again!

  • @metalfoot  Feb 10

Thanks! It's fun to write with my wife.

  • @adnama17  Feb 8

You, I will listen to all at once. Are you going to post all of them in one track as well, so I can be lazy and just hit play once? Please say yes, b/c I'm super lazy. : )

  • @metalfoot  Feb 7

I need to figure out what the heck I'm doing with Reaper and LABS but it was fun to do that. Next step is probably to watch/work through a bunch of Reaper tutorial vids.

  • @medievil Feb 7

Thank you for commenting on my track. πŸ˜€

  • @helenseviltwin  Feb 5

I haven't played with Thrill so very much yet. I got it in the Christmas sale, and then spend the next month or so writing more positive sounding stuff that Thrill would not have enhanced. It makes it super-easy to make spooky backdrop sounds with motion in there, particularly if you have a trackpad, as you can just use that to control it and record automation. I thought about grabbing some old public domain silent horror footage and trying to live score to it with that (I'd have to go back and add some melodic touches, but I think kind of reacting to the picture on the trackpad could work quite well.

Thanks for your listen and comments on Check And Let Me Know.
Glad you liked the vocal sample treatments. I normally produce instrumentals but have added vocal samples to my FAWM albums.
Messing with the samples is one of my favourite things to do.

  • @piney  Feb 4

Thank you for all your wonderful comments. I appreciate the words of support! πŸ˜€

  • @loopingstar  Feb 3

Thanks for the comments on my track . Following you to get my Fawmtronica fix πŸ‘

  • @elesimo  Feb 3

I've played a little bit with modular, but I'm scared of going down that rabbit hole!

The biggest benefit of the OP-Z in my opinion is the portability, I take it with me everywhere I go, and I've made multiple songs on long flights.

  • @elesimo  Feb 3

Thanks for listening to and commenting on all my songs! I really appreciate it!

Regarding the OP-Z, I don't know if you know but it has 16 tracks: 4 are percussion (kick, snare, hats, fx), 4 are melodical (bass, lead, arp, chords), and the last 8 are special. Since there's only 4 melodical tracks and I normally use the chords for pads, I'm left with only the lead and the arp for building up melodies, which is why the arp is so prominent (at least in my songs).

Luckily the arp is very configurable, and it can also have different parameters depending on the step, which help break the pattern and make it more interesting (in "Hills of carefree riding" I do that at the end of the chord progression).

Why yes.... yes you can, because the internet says so!
To surf a wave in a flashy, flamboyant, and skillful manner. (syn: rip, killin' it) use: β€œWhoa did you see that 360 air? That old dude is legit shredding, brah.”

  • @lizbrinker  Feb 1

Thank you! I’ll do my level best!

  • @hummingbear  Jan 26

Uh-oh, given the twists of the last year, this sounds, um, possibly realistic. Did you see the story about some bugs from the permafrost that scientists are studying, bringing them back to life? Well, I'd rather listen to music about it than read the headlines about it...

  • @andrewjtaylor  Jan 26

    Just 1 week till FAWM!

With all the turmoil since last FAWM, & especially since November, it's hard to feel quite as amped up about it.

"Unnecessary creation" just feels a little less necessary than usual.

But...the artists (music & video creators, especially) are arguably the most influential modern-day philosophers, & every day/week/month/year we spend honing our craft is a day/week/month/year invested in contribution to culture, no matter how small our circle of influence.

Hope you have a great Feb./FAWM, no matter how you spend it.

  • @heliosonorous Jan 23

Hello! Thanks for the greeting and look forward to hearing you new stuff!
