I don't need people to thank me for song comments or even reciprocate. I go with a pay-it-forward kind of thing.

I do love to collaborate. That said, over the past few years, I've found myself getting overwhelmed as FAWM goes on, so am trying to be a bit more careful what I agree to do, in order to avoid letting people down. If you want to collaborate, please do ask, but please don't be offended if I decline.

Edit 10/2/21
My first week of FAWM was super-productive partly, I suspect, because my TV broke on 1st Feb... It got replaced the following Friday and my productivity has decreased somewhat. A lot of that is to do with the day job getting more full on and leaving less brain space in the evening. However, I have the 3rd week of February off work, so anticipate I will either spend that week in a storm of productivity, or enjoying my new telly far too much. Only time will tell!

Thank you so much for stopping by my skirmish song "Sweet and Sour". It was fun to write and step out of my comfort zone, which we all have to do now and then. I truly appreciate your comments and will be taking them into consideration when I revisit the song in the coming weeks. Your time and support is very much appreciated and an honor to see your name on my comments list!

  • @guatecoop  Mar 6

Ok. Much better. Sorry about that silly mistake!

  • @cindyrella  Mar 6

    Thanks for your great comments!

  • @guatecoop  Mar 6

Oh my. I had your mix in the top track for reference! What was I doing?!? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ I will fix it. Wow.

  • @guatecoop  Mar 6

Helen, I am sorry that I put up such a bad mix on that song!! I listened to it today in my car and was swearing out loud. Goodness. I will fix that tomorrow. Your vocals are kind of buried. Wow. Worst mix in quite a few years. I am sorry about that.

  • @nadine Mar 4

Thanks for listening and commenting! Glad you enjoyed πŸ˜€

  • @julesbf  Mar 3

Hi Helen, are you involved in a zoom FOP, think i stumbled over a forum post about it but cant find anything now?

  • @caseewilson  Mar 1

Hehe, pubs being closed definitely helps! My only regret is failing to do many collabs. I did one with @Gem but as he's a FAWM widower every year I feel like I'm paying my dues there! But I just couldn't organise myself well enough around the new job and Foreign Country Admin. Also, spanish is a beautiful language, but not when you are trying to cobble together a sentence in the bank!

  • @caseewilson  Mar 1

Whoosh, you were prolific this year! Nicely done πŸ˜€ Good to see you and thank you for commenting! I'm just off to listen to your stuff now 😁

  • @theodamus  Mar 1

Hey thank you so much for your lovely comment on "Cold", I love that you listened and liked it! Congrats on a WAY over and above win, what an awesome FAWM! <3

  • @apolez3 Feb 28

https://fawm.org/songs/114005/ ? was wondering if you wanted to collab on these lyrics?

  • @zecoop  Feb 26

See!! We CAN do and learn things other than FAWM during February. Thanks for the info! πŸ˜€

  • @zecoop  Feb 26

I’m thinking because of Peter Sellers and Inspector Clueso? (Sp?)
The game has been around here as Clue for a long time and the game led to the movie. 😎

  • @zecoop  Feb 26

A song has been sent! I hope you like it... πŸ˜€

  • @guatecoop  Feb 24

Oooohhhh yeah Helen!!! Absolutely take it. I will reserve it for you....haha

  • @zecoop  Feb 24

Hey! So is this week too late to send you something? I’ll be writing nee stuff all week and would love to collaborate. No idea what it’ll be. 😎

  • @mikeskliar  Feb 21

ha, love that 'musical theater' comment- and yeah, you're so right! i can see the whole scene in my head now!

  • @cblack Feb 17

    Surreal is my middle name!

    (Actually it's Simon...)

    Glad you enjoyed it. πŸ˜€

  • @miga  Feb 17

well, I confess to not really having strong feelings about candy. But it made for a decent song. Also, I promised myself a silly song after a bunch of serious ones. 😁

  • @devinhill Feb 17

Thank you for listening to my song The Thing. I just just did the bass with wah underneath double tracked guitars.

  • @johnnycashpoint Feb 16

I hope so. first morse code spells out "F*ck Brexit", second one something i can't remember but equally depressing πŸ˜€

  • @mightyq  Feb 16

Thanks for your compliments on my song! I tried that alternative link and it didn't work.

  • @johnnycashpoint Feb 16

I liked it, wouldn't change it,, just making the point it didn't sound very TG to me!

  • @valeriecox  Feb 16

Thank you. I love Mary Chapin Carpenter!

  • @sapient  Feb 14

Or the drunks inside the house πŸ˜‰
I meant the choir, if that helps.
Choirs and chanting aren't the same, I know...

  • @pipewrench67  Feb 11

    Gracias

  • @stephenwordsmith  Feb 11

In that case, I could probably have handled it more sensitively. The male gaze lingers even after death, it appears.

  • @stephenwordsmith  Feb 10

HI, Helen. Thank you for your comment on the library song. I hadn't even considered that it might be a thing of beauty or poignancy - my brain was just going eiih Iunno I'll write about a sexy ghost. Perhaps there's more poetry in my soul than I realise.

    Thank you again.

  • @mishykatz  Feb 10

Thank you for the listen and comment on Inner Equilibrium! Much appreciated πŸ˜€ Look at all your songs, wow! Happy FAWMing!

  • @apolez3 Feb 7

Sorry, I don't even member posting that song.. musta been half asleep or something. .. lol but won't happen again.

  • @iwilleatyou Feb 5

I'm getting multiple questions on whether it's a cello in No Way No Way which makes me wish it was cause that would've been cool haha. It's just guitar with tremolo. I suppose a non-intonated guitar can sound cello-ish.

  • @willyviste Feb 5

Thank you for your comment on Blue Airline:)

  • @natalie  Feb 5

Hello, Helen! Thanks for my first ever comment received on a FAWM song! I love your mental image of the commercial with the dancing cartoon animals. That gave me a chuckle.

  • @brauer Feb 5

Thank you for the tip HelenπŸ’‘

i like your morph project idea, looking forward to hear how it develops, happy days 🌈

  • @karan  Feb 4

Soooo glad to hear you here again! Happy new FAWM!

  • @johnnycashpoint Feb 4

Great, Ill do a short rap (to allow Stuart space) and send it over later today. Quick question - what's the BPM? E-mail me as this is not the right use for soundboards πŸ˜€

  • @tukayandryan  Feb 4

Thanks for your lovely feedback. We really appreciate it 😊

  • @elenaduff Feb 3

thanks for the tip re: responding on the soundboards - still figuring all this out and thanks for commenting on my sea shanty song. Will listen to your latest now!

  • @auditasum  Feb 3

Glad you see you back on FAWM, @helenseviltwin. Now to catch up on your songs...

  • @shelleroo1  Feb 3

Thanks for your comments on my board! Yes, I was totally thinking of having kids do all the parts, which could turn into total mayhem, but would be a lot of fun! And thanks for the banjo hint!

  • @oddbod  Feb 3

Cheers. No malice was intended towards an individual, I merely wanted to illustrate a point but in hindsight, it was not really a sensible thing to do.

  • @apolez3 Feb 3

@helenseviltwin heh, ty for the comment, I was thinking of them as breathing. of course a bit of grunting in there too..

  • @wacha  Feb 2

Thank you so much for the kind words on "Can't Escape".

  • @deathboy  Feb 1

    heeeeeeeey! you're here 😁 wicked πŸ˜€ it's gonna be a good FAWM! <3

  • @jinx  Feb 1

Hey there Helen, great to see you back again!

  • @celineellis  Feb 1

Hey Helen! thanks for the comments on my first song - I think imma make a forum post about song key's because Im still learning a lot and dont get it!!!

  • @saxylizbeth Feb 1

    Re - PRS
Solo is soprano sax crunched through megaphone effect πŸ˜€ I made an electric guitar by accident!

  • @aiyla Jan 31

    Hello πŸ‘‹
Im probably a little out of my depth here but looking forward to a little fun
We will not get overwhelmed. Repeat after me Hahahaha.
    Aiyla

  • @tiller2  Jan 31

Thanks for the reassurance on Reaper; my unpreparedness is my own fault, of course. I much prefer learning guitar to sifting through DAWspeak. But I have a coupla tutorial vids that might get me past my sticking points. In other news, I also am being careful about collab commitments, having disappointed someone last year (I probably felt worse than they did). But very soon, it's time to let go of our troubles and engage in joyous songwriting struggles. Have a great fawm.

  • @pooka  Jan 30

    Always good.

  • @gslade Jan 30

Shoot me an email with the tracks you want me to play along with a promo pic. Let me know if you prefer video (live or recorded) or just audio. Then we just need a day/time and I'll set it up.

  • @gm7  Jan 29

Yes I use Nx just got it about a week ago. I'm still getting use to the way it sounds in my headphones and how it will relate to a final mixdown. you have to turn it off on your master fader before use do a final mix or it will do funny things. So far it's interesting.

  • @gslade Jan 29

Happy 2021 Helen. You came up on the podcast the other night. TC and I think a Helen episode would be dope. Hit me up if/when you're up for such a thing. Either way, good luck with FAWM this year!

  • @seemanski  Jan 28

Hey, looking forward to hearing your stuff. Sorry I haven't been around much on GYAW, I'll probably get kicked off, which is fine. I've been enjoying songfight lately.

Have a great FAWM. How are you getting on with your adventures into the soundtrack (there is a term for it but I can't remember)?

  • @johncrossman  Jan 27

The prospect of more H music always does my musical heart good. Really enjoying the Distant Social Club project on bandcamp right now, I didn't know it existed. I like!

  • @debs  Jan 26

    Hello my beautiful friend!

  • @andygetch  Jan 24

Hello and have a great FAWM!

  • @cynthiawolff  Jan 22

Hello ...can’t wait to hear what you come up with this 2021!

  • @guatecoop  Jan 14

    πŸ‘

  • @guatecoop  Jan 14

Uh, can you look into @joaquin12 ? Posted something on random sample challenge thread that looks highly questionable. Thanks!

  • @sw1n3flu  Jan 13

Wicked - thanks for the bandcamp link!

  • @sw1n3flu  Jan 13
