Liner Notes:

Song # 3 for DADGAG tuning. My falsetto usually isn't very functional for singing melody... This may be the first song that I have sung in my falsetto all the way though.

Lyrics:

We All Hide - February 3, 2010

Pleasure.
Pleasure and guilt.
Guilt.
Guilty pleasure.

Bones
Bones and Skin.
Skin.
Skin and bones.

Chorus:
We all hide what we hide.
Hidden inside.

Love.
Love and Pain.
Pain.
Painfully in Love.

Arm.
Arm Scars.
Scars.
Scarred Arms.

Drinks.
Drinking Again.
Again.
Again he's drunk.

Away.
A way to run.
Runs.
Runs away.

Such simple lines, but powerful. Perfect lullaby style. It's deceptively lovely. You could even drop the "hidden" if you want on the chorus. But that, too, fits the style of the rest of it.

I don't really pray, but if I did, I'd be invoking that name when I say, oh my. This is just so fantastically honest, open, raw, polished, smooth, it feels like it's flowing through me.

dude - totally reminds me of the tv show from ages ago...Twin Peaks. The music for it was captivating - just as this is...draws you in and makes you wonder - makes you listen. No need for perfection - because perfection here would be over done! go dan!

Nice sound with the whisper voice. The minimalist lyrics really workin'. That's how it's done!

I think the falsetta really displays the guilt of what we are hiding. Nice stretching Dan, it payed off smile

    beautiful

Yes, moving indeed. The falsetto (fully functional for this melody or not) conveys a sparness that the words describe and also a deep, resonating pain. To some degree I can relate to.

you always get that lovely resonant quality with an open-chord tuning on a guitar.
clever manipulation of words. moving stuff.
