Not Safe For Work

Liner Notes

Well, I didn't reach the goal of 14 songs. Still, I'm pretty proud of the 10 I've created. This has been such a positive experience! Here's a light-hearted ditty...sort of.

Lyrics

I never know what she's trynna say
Speaking all those riddles and limericks
A cheeky grin and it's all okay
Solving problems with a soft caress lickety split
She sometimes says it's like she's with a boy
Probably because I am so innocent and full of youth
No point decoding all that double talk (it's all a ploy)
Things'll work out cuz I need em to

And after all who has time for pessimism
Start slinging all that jive and I won't listen
Cuz my baby wouldn't do me like that

People tell me I live in a cloud
No umbrella when it looks like rain
Apparently nobody told em how
Positivity can help you chase the storm away
I never know what she's trynna say
Talking all those riddles and limericks
I won't give her the time of day
She starts talkin like she's over it (bull shit)

And after all who has time for pessimism
Start slinging all that jive and I won't listen
Cuz my baby wouldn't do me like that

@adforperu There are definitely some key-changes in there. I feel like they were really into that back in the 70s. I also don't no much about theory. I basically spend a long time trying to be unconventional on melody/chord-progression, just so it stays interesting for me.

Yeah man, don't worry about not hitting 14, you've got many keepers here. The stop-start nature of this is very cool, and has a bit of a Strokes-y feel to it but with more 70s influence. LOVE the chord sequence on the chorus, are there a few key changes in there? (I have zero theory knowledge).

Love the stops in your intro/verse. Fun groove, I like how you’re vocal parts are arranged. This is an original sound even though it’s influenced by 70s rock.

I'm optimistic about your song, good sound well done.
