The other day, an artist friend said she had been told by an art teacher that black is really a very dark blue. True or not, it makes a good title for a song about getting over sadness. Hope you like it.
Placeholder for a collab, optimistic pop song.
EDIT Sunday 1st of July:
Nice lyrics by Pam Bowen. Originally intended as a duet between Klaus and anti-Klaus. Anti-Klaus would sing the first half of the verses, the more pessimistic ones. It was a good idea but now I've run out of time and I need to get some placeholders done.
I have a slight cold now that affects my left ear hearing. So if this mix sounds funny, that's why. And also the Landola nylon-string acoustic is not the best sounding guitar in the world. 😀
Original placeholder title: "This is Not a Song". But now it is one.
BLACK IS ONLY BLUE
by Pamella Bowen
Cast your eyes into the past,
You’ll see some things that were the last,
And looking forward time goes fast---
Depression writes your epitaph.
Stop that thinking right this instant.
There’s not a grain of logic in it.
Focus on this present minute;
Live for now and joy’s the limit.
REMEMBER, BLACK IS ONLY BLUE,
A DARKNESS YOU CAN MUDDLE THROUGH.
WHAT SEEMS DEAD WILL SPRING ANEW;
WHAT SEEMS FALSE WILL SOON COME TRUE;
WHAT YOU THINK YOU CAN’T YOU’LL DO;
WHAT LOOKS BLACK IS ONLY BLUE.
Think of all the things you lost
And all the pain and all the cost.
Think of grass killed by the frost,
Another loss on lonely loss.
Stop that gloom and doom reflection.
All that’s wrong’s the situation.
Feelings change and time’s in motion
Healing black and deathly notions.
Blue sky signals sunny day.
Sunset ushers it away
To black, but blackness doesn’t stay.
Blue returns to light your way.
