I got my banjo back last night from trip to the luthier (Thanks Mike!) and decided I needed to pretend I know how to play it and write a song with it.
One-take with banjo and vocals. Added harmonica, backing vox, mandolin, banjo-ebow and bass.
Old Wives Tales – February 26, 2018
I can tell there will be a full moon tonight
I can tell by the way that you act
I can feel the full moon tonight
You are a crazy son-of-a-gun and that’s a fact
You act-a-fool, yes, a full blown lunatic
Wilder than a werewolf tonight
No fooling! A full blown lunatic
You bite and claw, kick and fight
You said it would be easy dear
"Two isn’t any harder than one
An only child might get lonely
Two would be twice the fun."
You wake up at 2 am
Just so you can howl at the moon
And again and 3 and 5
Now, I feel like howling too
You can say that it’s an old wives’ tale
But those old wives might be right
Listen to the mothers' and grandmothers' tales
About monsters, little creatures of the night
