So this is my going the complete opposite of last year's acoustic only FAWM. Started off just piano tinkering looking for week 2 challenge (bass line falling) only to miss it by a day , and just kept playin and la la la ing words
Originally i had a complete set of words from just an instant demo, and that never happens as they usually complete balls.
Then, again, i was watching a Berlin Wall documentary and realised that i had been somehow subconsciously singing about that so i started layering.
The lyrics are an abstract attempt at one guy from the East wanting to escape to the west in conversation with a guy from the west in his head, but not quite having the guts to do it, before eventually doing it and, of course, being shot in the attempt.
Like i say, its abstract so its not as literal as my Anne Frank as you are in the mind of this random individual.
Anyway, its weird and it doesn't have a chorus so maybe i can tick off week 1 challenge as well as falling bass!!
Feel free to shout at me if you disagree xx Jeez i may even beg for a conversation week 3 victory but that is pushing it
I basically have 3 DAYS LEFT OF FAWM!!!!! ARGH!!
PS i have an extra tune on my profile. Wrote words and melody for zecoop's brilliant rock track. In case you missed it feel free to pop along for a pure ROCK experience
You hung over me
why can it not be
cos everything around you
You hang over me
everything you can see
pulverises my head
They said give it up
when every man is falling down
to let you know
that i don't live it up
i then realise
my soul can't run
This side there isn't miuch
one man must give it up
to stand on freedom street
the people you will meet
You don't feel the clutch
of Stalin's subtle touch
So i was the ground that stood between us when i fall
I looked to see you but i saw a wall
they gazed upon us saying
"that is your fault"
and time will give it up
I was true enough...
