That mid fawm slump is killing me. I have been working on this one for the past 4 days and just cannot seem to get it where i want it. Just need to move on.
Kudos to you for letting yourself move on to the next song! A lot of people get stuck and just can't make it past a song until it's too late (I still have this issue....). This may not be where you want it to be, but it's still a fantastic piece. I like that you bring a lot of the same synth sounds back because it makes your collection of FAWM songs feel more cohesive.
Song 7 is right where I had my mid fawm slump too. Except this is still a quality song for you IMO. I love the piano on this one, I totally think you should use it more!
The drums on this one are really nice, and I really dig the part starting at 0:20. Some really nice effects there, and those drums are really great and heavy 😀 Also the part at 0:55 is really good and feels threatening.
I really liked how you used piano and violin to compliment the more "abstract" instruments.
You do really seem to like saw waves though. That does make the tone a bit "sharp", to me. This has that same sharp synth you asked me about, indeed, from the start. (It stops at 2:08). What I notice is that it only starts bugging me after a minute or so. One cause, i think, is that the entire song is in the same chord/key. If you change key, the frequencies change. (You can try this by fist listening your song, then transpose it, and then play again. It sounds different). My theory is that different frequencies trigger different receptors in our ears, which I think is perceived as pleasant. (But I'm not a biologist.)
Some songs just don't want to go where we want them to go. They're dangerous during fawm, because they suck a lot of time and energy up. With hindsight, you'll probably realize how much this track sounds accomplished. The production is simply incredible, and in terms of build up, it's a gem.
Glad you overcame that darn slump.
love this one, has a lot of details, switch ups and different sounds/depth
i wish i could be more technical but there you have it. i like this one
Wow, great song. Love the dark driving synth lines that propel the song along. If this is your idea of a slump then I want one too 😀
Sounds really cool to me! The orchestral parts were really cool and I really liked the sort of bell sounds at 1:13.
You always make good bass. The part starting at 0:55 is really attention grabbing, like hey pay attention to me and stop favoriting the bass. And then everyone starts jumping in vying for attention, but I still like the bass the best. Oooh it's getting mad at 2:26. This is something that should be played while driving. Through car speakers with windows down at a stoplight. People need to hear it. Great work! 😀
This has a nice dark industrial sound that fits the title well. I dig the piano tones in the middle and end.
