I've been playing around with this one for a few days. I'm still not terribly satisfied with it--it's very Jack Johnson-y, which will do for now. Contains one subtle Paul Simon reference that I quite enjoyed placing, see if you can spot it. The vamp really belongs to another song but I liked it and couldn't find that other song and needed a bit more flesh for this one so here it is. And as this technically lacks a chorus, I'm ticking the box!
Thanks for listening!
Jesus Christ girl, where'd you get that body?
You must've walked right out of my dreams.
Holy smokes you got me caught on fire
Burning a fever at a hundred degrees
And I'm not one for long romances
I bet we've both got better things to do
But so long as we're taking chancing
Hey come on, let me have a chance with you
For heaven's sakes, can I get your number?
Before you strut right out of my life
I'm not asking you for forever
How 'bout we start with just tonight
And I'm not one for bold advances
I mostly lean on old familiar lines
So, Jesus Christ girl, where'd you get that body?
You must be an angel in disguise
I'm not asking for the rest of your life
But gimme just one night, to be with you.
