Starts out lightly, almost ethereal, but then the heavy footsteps, and a pause, then it's a conversation perhaps between the sages? The footsteps return and it sounds more like pronouncements than conversation. Insert usual gush about vocal layers.
I'm going to start to sound like a broken record, but there's such a story to your music. Something momentous and magical, like an epic fantasy. Transporting to listen too.
¥f¥ff¥⚠️!!! This is sweet. For some reason I have the idea that it would be awesome if Frank Sinatra stepped into the middle of this and started crooning. That would be pretty sweetly incongruous. I guess what I mean is that this feels more songlike, more melodic than your music that's intended to create a soundscape for your stories. I like the "turn" referred to below. It feels like a dance somehow, but a vaguely ominous one
The first part of this piece has the feel of a wandering soul... not necessary lost, but a ghost, looking through windows to classrooms in a school... hard to put my finger on, really made me think.
An obvious turn here halfway through, as if it's possessing someone... almost a swirling levitation here at 3:43. if that make sense?
Whuh, I'm back. That was a journey.
Still optimistic to my ears, but more ambivalent. Lovely. Am I right in thinking the world of your book lives through grand cycles, no entirely lasting victory or defeat, or have I just constructed that out of faulty memories?
The melody on this one is so powerful and inspiring! I love it when the ¥f¥ff¥⚠️ comes in, there's a superb contrast with the ⚠️¥ff⚠️.
I love it when the Taiko drums come in. Changes the whole perspective on the piece. It goes from light and airy to... well, something darker and ever-so-slightly more foreboding. Which means, I really really like it!
¥f¥ff¥⚠️¥ff⚠️ ¥¥f¥ff¥⚠️¥ff⚠️ ¥⚠️¥ff⚠️ The Sages title really fits to me, although i was mentally picturing elves. I think i said something similar to another one of your songs this year. I guess your music makes me think about elves a lot. They are mysterious, mythical and beautiful so i guess it is fitting.
The pounding and rolling of the taiko drums gives a nice brooding counterpoint to the soaring vocal lines and strings. I like the harp plucking too - it all mixes together quite well. That change at 2:37 is particularly cool.
This is really really nice. I'm bathing in purple (yeah that's the color showing up and no I haven't been listening to Prince).
I have this picture of a massive temple sanctuary lit by the purest white light. The walls are all marble columns & there are sages here, meditating, sharing their knowledge & helping any who come for their advice. It is a beautiful and peaceful place - which if it existed beyond my vision, I would be hard pressed to leave as I would see it as paradise. So I guess in a way, you have composed the soundtrack for paradise. But then, if there were anyone I know who would be capable of such a feat, you would be the one!
On Ce Vera Dans Les Ombres…
Beautiful music. So pleasing to my ears. Smiled at the hint of some Irish music in the midst (unless my ears deceived me..but I smiled nonetheless) 😀 Really enjoyed this. And thank you for the kind comments on my song.
Some real nice harmonies breaking out of your vocals and the strings there, with the drone and beats sat underneath. Sounds incredible on headphones
