catcore ambient soundscape
Maehow amrrr mrreow mrrew.
[An awe-inspiring canyon in the middle of the forest. It feels good walking down its verdant embankments, under the cover of very old trees.]
Mantra : Keyboards (vapor, sand, wildhorse, xylophone)
Caterwauler : Strings, mindbell, organ, vocals
There's a flickering I can feel is Mantra's interpretation of the light filtering into the forest from the treetops. It's a peaceful place, but new, and full of kitteh eye darting and wonder...
I really like that your songs make me feel totally enveloped with sound like a snug blanket wrapped around me. This one has the feelings of relaxation and anxiety at the same time somehow.
I REALLY like that low end bass sound in the background...it totally gives this a unique vibe. I'm a bit overwhelmed this morning. They are putting new windows in the apartment complex and guess who's turn it is today? Yah. Moi. This is exactly what I needed.
Again, epic & huge. The opening (& other bits that I'm sure are Mantera's touches) make me think this forest Mantra is exploring is somewhere close to the Scarecrow Field I seem to be exploring this FAWM. The same mystery & hints of darkness seem to reside here. The difference is that there is far more light in your forest then in my field. Perhaps because a feline prowls its depths & it is not haunted by a strawman…
I am so glad that Mantra has taken up the Catcore mantle. @mojo would be proud of both of you for carrying on his legacy!
On Ce Vera Dans Les Ombres…
You had me at "catcore". The soundscape you created feels huge, it is very beautiful.
Not sure if either of you have read the Warriors series but I can totally hear this as the soundtrack for some of the adventures in that series.
This really is a huge soundscape! You’ve managed to convey a sense of scale magnificently. Some incredible little sonic elements dotted around. Awesome.
I like the pulsating sound and the textures. Excellent job mantra and thanks for listening to my one chord song.
I listened to this without reading the liner notes and it felt like the perfect soundtrack as I walked by temples and a big Japanese graveyard. There’s a cat who loves to sleep on the graves there who we named Morissey. It feels like the sky is getting dark and the witches and cats are peeeing out, ready to explore. And then they do.
Wow, those chords are huge and all encompassing.. expertly mixed. Real ethereal vibes to this. Your vocals sound like proggy guitars, insane
Purrfection of a catscape 😁
Hi, Mantra! I can really hear the Mojo influence here. Love the 80s synth movie soundtrack feel of the beginning parts and then the transition into a somewhat spookier ambient feel about a minute in. Mojo Obi-Wan has taught you well!
