Remembering the nights I spent chatting with Hoops on Gmail. It went like that (paraphrasing) :
Hoops : Do you know that artist? I used to listen to him when I was a kid. (Youtube link)
Cat : ♪♫♪ / No, I've never heard of him. Wow, great music. Thanks for the link. Do you know that band? I listen to them a lot. (Youtube link.)
Hoops : ♪♫♪ / No I didn't know them but I like what I hear! (emojis)
Cat : (emojis)
Hoops : Do you still have the first recordings you've ever made? I'd love to hear them.
Cat : Yes, but they suck. I would never let anyone hear them.
Hoops : You're always too hard on yourself. I'm sure they're amazing, like everything you do.
Cat : Well no, I can assure you they do suck. But if you want them, I'll let you hear them, because you are you.
Hoops : Don't feel like you have to. I can relate, as I also have old recordings I'm not comfortable with.
Cat : Let me hear them! I know they're good. Everything you do is fucking awesome.
Hoops : You're too sweet. You know, I don't like my voice.
Cat : Your voice is wonderful. Everything in your music is wonderful.
Hoops : Your music is wonderful too. Ok, link me to your oldest song and I'll link you to mine.
Cat : (emojis) / ♪♫♪
Hoops : (emojis) / ♫♪♫ / Yes, I was right : it's great. You were already a brilliant musician.
Cat : I knew it, you were already awesome!
Hoops : Let's make a pact : I promise I'll keep FAWMing every year if you promise you'll keep FAWMing too.
Cat : Okay, let's do that.
Hoops : Oh dear, it's nearly 4 a.m.! I need to go to bed.
Cat : Yep, 5 a.m. here. Time just seemed to fly by.
P.S. : @tcelliott, thank you.
