This song was written for the Twists and Turns skirmish.
Notes about my skirmish:
At first I thought I wanted to piano-skirmish. 15 minutes later I was coming up with this super awesome piano piece... that I don't want to use for the skirmish and want to revisit for another song concept I have, lol.
So I grabbed my ukulele for a change of pace, and the song pretty much wrote itself.
While I'm technically posting this a few minutes later, I had finished writing and recording it within the skirmish hour. But since I haven't figured out how to fix some recording issues on my computer, I went high tech one take and recorded this in garageband on my phone... only to realize it was making the ukuele sound off... so I recorded it in a voice memo and it sounded much better. lol
Anyway, I had to email and convert the file, blah blah blah, but I'm calling it skirmish accomplished, because tech issues schech issues, amiright?
Oh, also, I'm pretty sure I just wrote a no-chorus song on accident. Go me! Two birds, one stone.
Funny how the years go by
While we wander right on through the days of our lives
But I am ready to take a stand
I want to feel alive again
Do you ever wonder how we'd feel
If we started creating change that will help us heal
Talk to a stranger and maybe make a new friend
Every day is a chance to begin again
It's twists and turns and the little things
That will keep you on your toes
The way I see it take things one day at a time
And maybe that's the way to feel alive
