catcore experimental avant-garde soundscape
Meow aew eew eeeh.
[One of my favourite places for hiking is a big, old forest up a hill.]
Mantra : Keyboards (synlead, celldivide bass, piano, organ, asian bells)
Caterwauler : Voices, violining guitar, spooned guitar, pads
Reminds me of the pioneering days of synthesis, before we'd all decided what these sounds are meant to mean. Still exploring, with that murmuring rhythm as an engine. I like the expressive bird-like calls in particular.
I do like the organic sound of this -- definitely hear water and wood and air and birdcalls. The lead lines are very Cageian (in a good way).
Time to make my way through your adventures @mantra and @caterwauler ! This is such a hypnotic track! Patterns in chaos, kind of like nature.
Who listens to your music backwards? I do, I suppose. lol Well, actually listening to it in reverse would be verrrrrry interesting too.... Have you ever done that before? Reverse the music? Just a random thought that whizzed by when I wrote that. This song sounds very outer-space-y. All the high pitched beeps - make me think of aliens in spaceships. Twilight zone stuff. Perhaps it's time for me to go to bed soon. Rowrrrr (at the end). Well good night to you too! 😉
I love the worlds you are able to create with your songs. I listen to this one several times and picked up on something new with each listen. This was a truly enjoyable song, you both do lovely work.
is that a theremin Mantra is playing?! Sounds like a cross between a 50's sci-fi flick and a Moog'd-out acid trip. I mean that in the best way possible.
p.s. Mantra is sooooo cute! Looks like a cross between two of mine.
There were no forests on Altair 4, but this reminds me of the "electronic tonalities" that Louis and Bebe Barron composed for Forbidden Planet. Those echoing notes are haunting. Very much my sort of thing!
And I bet the Krell had cats.
Enchanting in an otherworldly way. Mrrrooooeeeeooooowwww!
Some very cool and spooky sounds in this. Verging on Dr Who but not quite!
This is intense! Such a sinister and compelling vibe. Mantra has found some bizarre and brilliant melodies and the caterwauler guitar orchestra is predictably awesome 😀
Is this a forest on a far away planet? I love this. It's eerie & mysterious. And though it has this alien space opera feel, I still feel as if I'm in the forest. There's enough of a natural vibe to know that this is still a forest. And Mantra, the vocals are great!
See You In The Shadows…
I feel like i'm being abducted by aliens. The aliens start to probe me. I beg them to stop, and in response one of them pulls off their alien mask to reveal that they are actually anthropomorphized cats. The cat-alien leans down to my ear and softly whispers "meow".
another story plays out in sounds
so good you two
Man this is a good trip. That background sound that continues through the whole song is icing on this cake. I don't do drugs but I'm almost willing to just to see what kind of a trip i get whilst listening to your music.
This is epic! I love avant-garde music! You nailed it!!!!!!
Sonic elegance, man.
I received weird, experimental pleasures.
A work of strange beauty.
Creepy...but somehow awesome
holy meow this is great!
on a side note: you don't like wearing a leash do you??
Wow, this is delightfully weird! Also very different from your usual fare. I like it when people branch out, and you do it well!
Crikey... this takes experimental all the way up to 11! Some really amazing sounds here. Fascinating stuff! Meow 😀
ooooo experimental is the word. I knew the was a good reason i watch listed you. epic start to FAWM and love the cat!!
PURRRRRRRRRRR *rhythmically kneading paws on a blanket!*
