I almost always write a "good-bye" song for the end of FAWM. Most of the time it is a folky or bluegrass-y song but this one wanted to go more the way of of rock anthem I suppose.
I'll stick around for a while and listen/comment... this February was a little crazier than normal for me (taking care of sick children and inevitably, I also got sick for most of the month among other craziness) and I am way behind on everything including commenting... I see you, I hear you! Many thank yous for everyone that listens, comments and sends notes.
One take in Ab with electric guitar and an extra track with backing vox.
The Part Where We Part Ways – February 24, 2017
I hate to say good-bye
But I know that the time is nigh
We had a good run, but the time ran out
This is the part when we part ways
I’m sure I’ll see you again
When cold weather starts kicking in
When I can’t stand to be alone anymore
I long for it to last
Find more sand for the hourglass
But life is nothing, if not too short
I guess you are right
Let’s make the most of our last night
Celebrate in the darkness, at daybreak, we mourn
