The mighty @miltz sent me some of his home-brewed percussion loops. I had a listen and pretty soon this song fell out. (Maybe Dan can tell you how he made the loops; that's probably a more interesting story.)
Dan: Unfortunately, there's no interesting story to accompany the loops. I just played some buckets in time (more or less) to some drums I'd programmed, then killed the programmed drums and played along with the first buckets. Used two buckets, a candy tin, a Remo Rhythm Pal drumhead, brushes, a superball mallet, and a wire whisk.
I'm very pleased Mike was able to make something so good out of that. Thank you, Mike.
how suddenly it all seems normal
daggers out and faux-informal
while you slept
someone came along and moved the window
a chamberpot to boil the frogs in (echo echo)
groping for the antitoxin
arm your hearts
we are swimming in a sea of poison
can't taste it any more
every day a tiny slaughter
sinking lower in the water
while you sleep
they will mark your door and move the window
