I dedicate this song to Canada, my country, to the Footlings, my kids, and to @toms, who dared me to use sesquicentennial in a song. "Use it?" I said to myself. "I'll WRITE A SONG with it as the big pop hook!"
The merlin sounds disturbingly like a uke on this track, but we forgive it. I was kind of playing it uke style. But trust me, that's my merlin, not my uke. Whistling and bass 'ba-dos' are all me, as well.
2017 is a special year
It's the sesquicentennial of Canada
What that means is, quite simply
Canada's 150 years old now
But the word sesquicentennial is more fun to say
than 150 any day
So let's say it again
Happy Sesquicentennial Canada! (repeat ad nauseam)
