For all the lack of practice, I really like this riff and the feel of the backing!
It was intended to be spoken word over smooth bass. instead it turned into a one-chord challenge, except it didn't stay one-chord either. Two CBGs, bass guitar. If I practised it the sound would be clearer but I LIKE grit
And it is true, though the 10,000 hours is far from exact. Some take 8,000, others 12,000. We don't count the Mozarts of the world, of course. ANd I find it amusing that all three instruments finally got the basic riff right at the end of the vocals, between1:46 and 2:01

It never ceases to amaze me
I listen to music that blows me away
And then I hear the writer say
"I can't write music to save me"
I guess we all have a mental block
"If it's me doing it, it can't be right
So I hide round the corner out of sight"
Our ego's fragile, when it's shot.
There's only one way out of this bind
You do it, do it, do it, and close your ears
Ten thousand hours, eight or ten years
And a master you'll be. It's true, you'll find.
