This is actually the first song I started working on for FAWM. I don't know how it ended up being the third I finished, but for the homies in the #firstfruits club, this really was my first track!
Although I don't write a lot of heavily Christian-themed songs, and I try not to be preachy about it here on FAWM or 50/90, my faith is an undercurrent in much of what I do, musically and otherwise. Thanks for listening!
PS: chords in the chorus are F#m-B-F-A. I heard the chorus tune in my head and had to figure out the chords from that!
There are days when things are good
When life just keeps on keeping on
There are times when everything
Is falling down and hope is gone.
and when I feel my failure
when I'm too blind to see
I'm thankful you keep holding on
holding on to me
Like an endless loop sometimes
I think one way and do another
I don't understand my own self
How can I truly love my brother?
like an endless groundhog day
I do those stupid things again
I'm glad you don't give up on me
but yet you call me friend
you were hung upon the cross
for all my shame and sin
you have washed me, made me clean
Now I'm freed from what I've been
